gmg
I know this is probably a stupid question but since I am just starting to shoot SS i was wondering if you could start a COF in SS division using a 10rd mag loaded only to 9 rounds, therefore starting 8 in mag and 1 in chamber....or does the box size limitations prevent this. I thought maybe I could do this without having to use a barney mag. Thanks for everyone's advice.
Pro2AInPA
The only 10 round mags that fit the box are 9mm. There are .40 mags that hold 9, though, which eliminates the need for a Barney mag. But if you're shooting .45, Barney up.
Corey
box limitation prevent you from starting with a downloaded 10-rounder. all mags used must fit the box.
EkuJustice
I usually just use the last mag on the belt as a barney mag. I figure If I get to that point of neededing it something went very wrong and that extra round will not be needed any way. I do use a 10 rounder to start with as of recent in 9mm
gmg
Thanks guys. after i thought about it i kinda figured the the box wiould kill that idea. oh well, barney up it is. love them big chunks of lead though. Shooting SS really makes you focus on your sights and stage awareness more.
steel1212
Use it as a barney mag because if you use it as a start mag welcome to open
