SVI vs STI Mag tubes

Lots of differences...

Side indentations on STI are 2 narrow row-like indentations as opposed to a broader single indentation on SVIs. New SVI are designed for SVI grip frames and mag releases only and must be modified to work in STI's. The steel with which they are made is different, and I am sure there are more...

For 9mm, the SV mags work without spacers. Some folks can tune an STI mag to run without spacers, and some guns don't seem to need them, but lots do. It seems most folks can get one more round of 9/38 SV mags as well. The STI tubes seem to be made of slightly thicker gauge metal and may be slightly more durable. R,
