Imagine how hard those workers days were. It had to be absolutely freezing. Can't imagine the clothes they wore worked like the modern stuff we have now. The days were probably long and they probably earned like a buck!

The part where the guys are pushing the chunks of ice around in the hole they cut looks way too dangerous! Fall in and your toast!

Wool and goose down. I don't believe we have really fully exceeded their capabilities, save for weight. So while their clothes were heavy, they were warm too.
