Spray_N_Prey
Ok I have tried 2 different safeties and the right side after 30 or 40 times applying the safety backs out just enough not to allow the left to work right. I guess i'm going to break down and buy a couple SV ambi's. Where is the cheapest to pick two of them up at and who is a good gunsmith that will install an ambi on a couple of guns (that has a good turn-a-round time). Thanks Shawn G. 818-DVC
SV makes a nice safety, but for about half the price you can get an Ed Brown or Wilson ambi wide or high wide for about $50 through shootersconnection.com. As far as competent smiths go, where do you live?
donnyglock
I have a few STI's and have fit a couple STI ambi safetys. I have never had a problem with them. I am a lefty as well but if they are fit correctly there should be no problem.
SteveU
I'm a lefty. I've broken 2 SV ambi safeties that were professionally installed (not by SV). I'm using an Ed Brown now because it's cheaper. I have a spare in case I break it. I fully expect to.
jaggy13
I'm lefty as well, I use a Wilson just because it was available locally. I've always installed them myself. Just a little fitting, and I like to know its not over stoned. Any local smith should be able to handle for you easily.
818-DVC
As a BE forum member, shootersconnection offers a discount on a lot of Ed Brown & Wilson. & a lot more. Contact chuck or Mike and ask for the special pricing. It has saved me over $150 on an open build without compromising any parts.
