planenut
I've only done a little reloading so far but what I am thinking is that I don't have to re adjust the crimp station when changing between a Zero 230 FMJ RN and a Precision Bullet Moly 230 LRN FP. I change the seating station to adjust the OAL but I didn't need to change the crimp. I'm assuming this is because the crimp is at the case and it's length did not change. Does that sound about right?
twodownzero
I haven't changed any of my crimp dies for many years.
DougCarden
I would drop check your rounds. Set up the seating die for one of the bullets, then make up a dummy with the other bullet at the same OAL. If it drops in and out of the barrel smoothly, then make up 10 or so and shoot them. If they run, then it is one less thing you need to mess with when setting up to load your ammo. Just something to try..... DougC
Emerson
It shouldn't be necessary to change the crimp die, but load a couple and measure them with your dial calipers to see where you're at. I crimp .45 ACP to .470 + or - .001 depending on the brand of brass.
