benos
I did a search on this topic and found four promising threads, but none directly answered this question (I got from a phone call): Wilson makes two standard (body) length 45 (and they work in 40 as well) mags - the 47D (standard length plastic basepad) and the 47DE (extended plastic basepad). Are the both legal (fit the box) in IDPA, or just the 47D? thanks, be
Mark Perez
With the extended pad - it is a very tight fit .Requires extra effort on the user to get the whole thing in the box. But it does "fit". Whether it is legal or not is a matter for IDPA [or ask TGO? ] The standard pad fits w/o a problem. Hope that helps. Bill
I think it might depend on how tall your rear sight is. Somebody was talking the other day at a match that their Wilson mags wouldn't fit the IDPA box. The McCormick pads with the angle on the front would fit with his gun. Ted Murphy
I saw a 1911 with a bomar and the wilson extended pads that did not fit in the box. Seems to work fine with novaks and similar. Ted
Bill Schwab
My 1911 with the BoMar or Wilson rear sight BARELY fits in the box using the extended Wilson basepads. No prob with the standard Wilson basepad.
