E Mont
I am curious about the various methods used to limit STI wide body mags to 10 rounds. (don't ask why) So far I have seen some factory 10 round mags that appear normal from the outside and yet some others have an obvious indentation and an apparent cross-sectional diagonal cut in the lower part of the body. (I remember some Canadians used to come south-of-the-border, pull out the hi-cap blocks, and shoot hi-cap.) If they are STI originals, is either easily changed back to hi-cap? Tanx to all. Aircooled6racer
Hello: They are not easily changed back to high caps. You have to cut and weld on them. It is just easier to get high caps. Thanks, Eric
BBoyle
get some arredondo 10 round limiting base plate inserts and do not take the standard plates with you. You can get them at shooters connection.
Badkarma
Agree with BBoyle (howzit) arredondo 10 round limiting base plate inserts... we use them. 10 round magazines are rubbish and should only be used for reloading practice over concrete. calishootr
I have both the mentioned mags...the indented ones you are basically screwed to make it hicap without cutting outthe dents, which will in essence trash the mag without a lot of welding, the other less conspicuous one is the riveted baseplate one that if the rivets are drilled out, it used to have a metal plate with a post attached to it to limit the follower down to 10 rds, i suppose you could drill outthe rivets pull the limiter out, use it for whatever, then put the original guts back in(minus the rivets of course)
