Federal brass

So, there I was, all set up to load 1,000 rounds each of 38S and 40S&W on my 550. No problems with the super, as usual. About 200 rounds intothe 40, the press jams up, shell plate won't turn. Take the rounds off the shell plate, take the shell plate apart, got a ringer in the prime station, first I'd ever had in over 20,000 rounds, no big deal. Look at the brass, it's Federal NT. Throw it in the bucket. 30 rounds later, another...*^&*%%! Same brass, Federal NT. By the time I got through the complete 1,000 rounds, had 4 more. Six ringers in one session...I hate Federal brass!

Having just loaded a bunch of 223, I can attest Federal Brass sucks. I had your problem with NT also. I sorted all my brass and trashed it. I have felt your pain. UGH

lol. I like Federal brass, much more over others... Remington brass in 223 is garbage... sooooo thin and flimsy... the only brass that gets stuck in my dies.

Much like I cant stand winchester 9mm brass.

NT (Federal and Win) brass has the crimped primer... I have coffee can full of the crap so now I go through it and pick them out when I run the brass through the Grx die. Regular Federal brass is pretty good.

Hate it, too. Even blew a primer once, trying to seat it.

Now I collect the NT stuff and give it to a buddy who removes the crimp and uses the brass.
