ident/ring around bullet from being pulled

ive pulled a number of 9mm with that hornady bullet puller+collet, ive mainly pulled some of these and some of these:

when these bullets get pulled there is a slight indent/ring left around the bullet from where it was grabbed by the collet

im wondering if this has ANY effect whatsover on the accuracy or velocity of these when they are shot out of my gun

from my understanding the most important part of the bullet is the base, where powder ignition exherts the pressure and pushes the bullet into the rifling and out the barrel

They're fine ...... the rifling in your barrel will do more damage to the surface than that ring.

I would not use them for precision shooting but for USPSA they will be just fine.

I've used several with the ring from pulling and haven't noticed any accuracy drop off

I got a Hornady collet puller like that not long ago and used it to pull about 750 bullets.....used them for practice ammo...seem to work just fine. R,
