Glockcomma
I just bought a Ruger Mark III 22/45 RP, and I would like to improve the trigger and get rid of the magazine safety. The Volquartsen parts look kinda promising any tips. Thanks Tim
BrianATL
I ditched the magazine safety and installed the Volquartsen sear and a adjustable trigger. Trigger is now light crisp and perfect well worth the effort.
Rolex
On my new MKIII I put in the sear and adj. trigger. But the mag. safety stayed in. Wonderful trigger pull!
Glockcomma
How do you ditch the mag safety, do you need to install Mark II parts? Does the hammer make any difference because Brownells offers the Volquartsen accurizing kit that has the hammer, trigger and sear. kamikaze1a
I got rid of my mag disconnect too. Not sure if that made a diff but the disconnect linkage is part of the trigger mech so possibly. I got the MKII kit for my MKIII as well as the MKII hammer bushing and was good to go. Kit gave me crisper trigger but it may have been just as good with the MKIII kit and maintaining the mag disconnect. Never had the opportunity to compare MKIII's with trigger kits with and without mag disconnect so pure speculation. The best mod was removing the slide stop detent. Releasing the slide used to be a pain and doing so via the stop was causing visible wear to the catch. Now I just "slingshot" the slide and it's in battery!
