Experiences? Ken rockwell <<<< This guys website will hopefully tell you everything you want to know. I bought my wife a D40 recently based on his recommendations and she couldn't be happier. The D40 has unfortunately been discontinued (we got one of the last new ones available from Adorama.com), but he does recommend the D5000. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Got my eyes on a D 40 at a retailer and hoping to catch it in the $200's. Nothing wrong with the Cannon's just don't know anything about them. I like the Ken Rockwell site too.
