Ty Hamby
I see a lot of polygonal barrels (Glock, HK, ect.)being removed and replaced with more conventional style rifling in SSP guns (barsow and the like). The IDPA rule book states this. PERMITTED Modifications (Inclusive list): 6)Internal accuracy may be worked to include replacement of barrel with one of factory configuration and original caliber. Converting from polygonal barrel to conventional lands could be considered non-factory configuration. Your thoughts?

I look at factory configuration as meaning NON-ported, threaded, or compensated and of stock length. So if the only difference is the lands and grooves then I think of it as factory configuration. Duane Thomas
"Of factory configuration" has always been construed to refer to the external configuration of the barrel, and has nothing to with the rifling.

CrankyCrash
People do it all the time. Knock yourself out. OK off to convert my Stock Service Pistol to a "Stock <cough cough> Service Pistol" I have a Jarvis drop-in barrel in my Glock 17 (SSP) and a BarSto custom fit barrel in my Glock 34 (ESP). I've shot both guns at regional, state, and the Nationals with no questions asked. See Appendix One, Section A.1.A and A.1.C, page 18, of the IDPA Rulebook.
