Here is a good one, I have been Cowboy Action Shooting since '97 and last weekend finally won a match. We have some decent shooters in our local group, but the day was just right for me.

The down side is that I need a new rifle to meet my potential

Yes I took First, it took a lot of effort to take it away from the usual winner

Sig, a new rifle will help in that the one I am looking at has a different feed method that is much smooter. I spent a fair bit of time dealing with rough chambering. I am graduating from an 1892 Winchester to an 1873. Sorta like going from an 870 to a Bennelli

I'm sure you have a good point. This way you can win just that much faster. :P

  • 1 year later...

Bringing this back to the top since it has been a year and a quarter and if finally earned HOA in my second match. It is amazing how much time/points some shooters burn up with misses. Not only is the "New" rifle working very well, but I ended up with a new leather rig to accommodate some injuries (Ouch in more ways than one!).

Good equipment and ammunition DEFINITELY makes a difference, especially when you couple it with some practice.
