Iosso with a dash of mineral spirits along with loooong tumble times...I like shiny brass.

Dawsons are flawless in my Trojan.

Speaking from my own experience going from a Glock 34 to a tweaked STI.
PROS: Better trigger/more rounds in mags
CONS: Much more expensive guns/much more expensive mags
Enjoy running a great Limited gun, but ultimately competition is competition, and one division is not necessarily more fun than another.

The only downside to the deal is the outrageous $19 S&H Cabela's is tacking onto the price!!!
Free shipping from Cabelas through 12/18 with promo code WSANTA.

The STI in .45 is a Lim10 gun.
The stock STI 45 140mm mags hold 15 rounds. Kinda takes it out of the Lim10 class!
Actually if you fill it with 15 you're stuck with a low capacity Limited gun or an Open gun...if you declared Limited 10 but load it to capacity
Load to 10 and run Limited 10....all those people in Production do the same drill, with mags that could hold 17 or so.

I'd go with the stock Trojan and save up for a trigger job from Bobby at Freedom Gun Works. Bet you'll be happier in the long run.

I've got eight of the Dawson supreme tactical 10 rounders with no-gap base pads and have had zero issues at all with them.
That's my experience as well with the Dawsons.

This past weekend at the Gator Classic, there were signs posted at every safe area table that magazine handling was forbidden. I wanted to say something or at least ask, I had a need to check a mag. Could have been a range rule or an overstep, quite frustrating.
Wish you had talked to one of us so we could have sorted it out on the spot...as I noted, I never bothered to read the whole sign after shooting at that range for years.
If you had and it all went south, I would have voted your way in arbitration, as would any other RO with a rule book.

Problem was the sign was obviously made up by somebody unfamiliar with the rule book and was incorrect...to be honest, I've seen those signs for three years or more and never once read the thing beyond "Safe Area".

I like the flannel lined 5.11s for the cold days. +1 for LA Police Gear.

Does anybody know Gary's number (or fax number)? I picked up a gun off the prize table, and got his FFL license, but I somehow I failed to get his fax number for the FFL paperwork.
I'll PM you with that info.

180 gr Zero JHPs when I can get 'em, 180 gr MG JHPs if not.
The MG require an extra 0.10 gr of Titegroup.

Scores are now up on USPSA's site: http://www.uspsa.org/uspsa-display-match-results-detail.php?indx=3140
And thanks to all the great competitors from the RO crew on Stage 5...it was a pleasure working with y'all.

Welcome to the finest competitive shooting forum on the Web.
As suggested, check out lagator.org for the schedule of all the fun we have in store for you down here south of I-10.

Dawson Tactical 10 rounders work great for me with 147 gr Zero JHP.

Buffing wheel with polishing compound does a nice job for me.

No problems here either and I use Glocked brass all the time for multiple loadings in my STI after resizing in a standard Dillon die.

I have seen REF called...at the Nationals...for poppers not falling when hit.
Would make me wonder if the RO who called REF in that case also could intuit whether the shooter's ammunition was actually making PF without benefit of a chrono.
Curtis
The RO, the CRO, the RM, likely the other RM, the MD...dozens of GM's and a crowd of watchers... (just to point out that it did not happen in a vacuum, with one RO)
FWIW...the squad had been through Chrono, and I have good faith that they weren't using cheater ammo.)
Even though someone's ammo has met declared power factor at chrono, doesn't eliminate the possibility of a weakly loaded round failing to drop a steel, hence the need for calibration per the rulebook to decide the issue...I do have problems with RO calls that go outside the rules, no matter who is making the call, no matter what their level of certification or how many people agree. I'm funny like that

I'm slightly biased but eaps in gonzales puts on a decent pistol match. 3rd Sunday. Www.eapsclub.org
Yup, that Spanky character that designs the stages seems to have some talent in that direction

That really stinks...fear of this happening was the reason why I opted for a mechanical instead of an electronic lock on my safe.

Worked my way through (and wore out) a number of bags until I got my Shooters Connection bag. When we all jump in a pickup to go to the stage at the far end of the range, it even makes a great seat for a skinny guy like me.

I'm kinda late to this party but I believe that stage designers should be careful with stage designs that press the 180 for Level 1 matches where there are a higher number of new competitors. Ease 'em into the deep end of the pool, but don't toss 'em in over their heads. Even experienced shooters can occasionally have problems...at least that's what I've heard through the grapevine .

I have about the same mileage on my G34 and other than obvious extractor damage, all I'd replace are the obvious and possible wear or breakage items: springs (all, including lock lever spring and mag release spring), pins (all: I've bent locking block pins in a 10mm and broken trigger pins in 9mm), spring load bearing (the little plastic bit in the extractor plunger spring), slide release lever, mag release, plus maybe the slide lock lever.
