  1. where you in my group? I see you finished in the top 5 all but once...nice! It just hit me when you said that. Divide points by time. Is that done just to compare diffrent divisions or is that how you ranked with in the divison as well? It didn't have the hit factor in the divisional lists. Didn't do me much good to have a perfect stage but take 17 seconds!
  2. This is everybody together This is each stage This was my first IPSC match. I've shot 1 IDPA and 1 GSSF match and then I shot this one. It has me at 13th on stage 3 and I shot As on all 20 shots. It did take me 17 seconds but I figured I would be higher than 13th? I shot 9mm in Single Stack so minor power factor. I'm just confused on the listing that has all divisions together. When I compared them seperatly going by match points it has me at 389 which comes out to 7 best out of everybody. Then I look at the pistol finals for all divisions and the best it has me is at 13th and that was a all A stage? I'm so confused!
  3. Right. Dump the mag, reload, and keep on truckin'. Basic rule is: Slide lock, dump mag; slide forward, retain mag. Addendum to the basic rule: Malfunction clearance, dump mag; if slide doesn't lock back when gun is empty due to design, modification or bad juju, dump mag. Your supposted to retain the mag on slide lock? I was under the impression that you didn't have to retain if you shoot to empty. To clarify what revchuck posted... Basic Rule Slide Lock = dump it Slide Forward (one still in the chamber but mag empty) = retain it 10-4

  5. If the CoF requires you to engage each target with at least two rounds, it's poor stage design. I'm guessing that the stage designer wanted to force a TR/RWR here, and as so often happens, doesn't know that revolvers can't shoot eight rounds without reloading. The concept is that you wouldn't leave cover with only one round in the gun. You're required to reload behind cover if it's available, and it's available here. Besides, you'd probably save time doing the TR/RWR over the slide lock in this case.During the walk through, MAKE the SO clarify whether you can reload while moving from P1 to P2. Don't be hard on the guy/gal, since SOs usually aren't the ones who designed the stage, just make sure you get a "yes" or "no". I just threw that out there off the top of my head. If you shot to slide lock though and you reload, behind cover, you don't have to stow the mag right?
  6. No you do not. According to the rule book; Yes, you do have to continue to use cover during your reload, you just do not have to move completely behind cover to reload. Stage has you sitting on a bench and has you jump up and run to a barrel and shoot 4 targets. Then, go from there and walk/run to a line shooting 4 more targets at the same time. If I only have 8+1, I shoot the first 4 targets move from cover to engage the final 4 and of course as I'm moving and fire my first shot I go to slide lock. In this situation I can just drop the mag insert another and keep going correct?
  7. I want factory glock mags or if you guys now of a equal quality brand that can take hitting the dirt a lot.
  8. Ok before I do anything to this trigger, would modification of this sort make it GSSF illegal? I mean I shoot my 1911s in IPSC and IDPA so I just wanted another weekend of fun so the GSSF is the main reason I got this gun.
  9. Those 2 sounds like the way to go. Would a glock newbie be able to install these parts. If they have good instructions I have basic tools. Also, with the takeup and overtravel screws how much of the travel can you take up, some, all?
  10. I got one of these black things today with a way longer trigger than my prestigious 1911s No I'm not a glock hater just picking as I got picked on majorly for shooting 1911s today at the glock match practise....they said I could shoot in the "other" class basically for trigger time. Anyway, I've had 2 of these before and traded/sold them now I have another so I could shoot in the state GSSF match. Is there a trigger job I can do myself that would shorten the travel/pull? Thanks
  11. Ok, let me ask this, what is the differance in the 2 other than length?
  12. I guess this would come down to preferance then. I'm not going out and buying an open gun today, I was just curious. Hell I've never even fired a 38 super! Guess I opened one of those, which is better AK or AR.
  13. one thing I do see as kind of funny. These open guns are 3k+ and people are complaining about brass cost lol. Like I said just seems funny not trying to start a fight.
  14. $8 bucks is great. It's about $14-$16/K in my neck of the woods. Regardless, 9mm brass will cost about the same as Super/SC if one is fairly diligent about picking up their brass after practice. 9mm is great for those who might have back problems though and you will also save time by not having to pick it up afterwards. Ok so let me see here. You load 9mm to major but its so hard no the brass its not worth picking up BUT you load super to major and you pick it up and load a few more times because it can handle it right? So as you pointed out the price evens out if you can reload it 10 times. So I'm back to my original question, unless the range says NO you can't pick up your brass, My range encourages people waiting to shoot to pick up brass while other tape, then why 9mm over super? On a side note how many people shoot minor in open? How many times do they win over major competitors?
  15. Wouldn't it be easier to make major with super than 9?
  16. Is the only reason to do this is to get a couple more rounds? I'm sure price has some to do with it for reloading as well.
  17. I got my new instructors belt in yesterday had to send it back, wrong size though . Its 1 3/4 and the CSM version. I ordered 39 and the loop part of the velcro came to the buckle. So I called them up and ordered a 37 to try to put the hook part in the middle of the loops. Anyway, I have some black hawk pouches and if the new belt comes in and the velcro over laps where it did again the black hawks won't work as they won't go over both layers of material, they barely go over the one. I think with the 37 I should be fine though but just in case what are you guys/gals useing with the belt?
  18. The Gallery is the best forum to go to... plenty of gun pics here --> The BE Gallery of guns and other stuff Thanks!
  19. Anybody got pics of their open/limited/stock/production/single stacks with what all the have done to them? I'm so new I'm curious as to what would be competitive.
  20. So an XD is legal in production but not legal in SSP in IDPA? I was thinking of getting an Glock in 9mm or an XD in 9mm. On second thought I would like to stick with the 1911 platform as that it was I mainly shoot in IDPA in ESP/CDP. The glock would allow me to shoot in SSP and Production both though if I wanted to do that where the XD is only legal in Production right? If thats the case what do most shooters shoot in L10?
  21. No real competition in SS? Didn't mean it as I'm Hathcock, meant it as there isn't any numbers shooting in my area...guess I need to reword that!
  22. I have basically 2 pistols I could use. .45 springfield milspec, 9mm springfield loaded. They both have magwells, flgr and the 9mm is getting fiber optic sights. I know SS would be ideal but with no real numbers would the next step be limited 10?
  23. I just looked up Zero Bullets but. Precision 125 - delivered anywhere in US - 42.28 per K Zero 125 - 63.47 +8.00 if not FFL or dealor + shipping... DOH my bad! instead of 36 they where 63.
