  1. I just shot a match with at 12# variable wolff spring in and a 17# Hammer spring in my 9mm springfield 1911. Man that is sweet with 3.3 titegroup and 147 zeros!
  2. You can't use 9 rds in major for single stack only 8rds. I guess I could get the 9 rounders and just not top off lol. As for the .45s holding 10 rounds which .45 mags hold 10rds of 40?
  3. Anybody understand what they where saying? lol....I must be getting old. Nice video though and I did like the beat to it.
  4. I know that but I can't get classified in Single stack so I have to shoot L10 and need 10 rounders to do that
  5. I'm about 95% sure I'm going to get a trojan in .40 so I can get my classification in L10 and still shoot Single stack but I need mags for it. Is Tripp the only place to get 10rders that will work with a Trojan?
  6. Yeah, I had a friend ask me why I seperated out the win and I and I told him the same thing lol. Do you use your WIN stash for the monthly matches or just the yearly MAJORs? My local match is kind of quick paced and really don't have time to pick up your brass until after its all over. I guess I could pick it up when everybody else goes to the other pit for shotgun/rifle lol. The IDPA match I shoot it isn't so much run and gun and all the brass in a couple of places and picked up after each shooter so I can get it then.
  7. I'm currently seperating and picking out all the winchester 9mm brass but I'll have about a flate rate box full of mixed after I do that. Its mostly federal and remington and I was thinking if I'm so anal just pick out the win, mark it and pick it back up when I can and load the mixed stuff for lost brass matches? Or should I not even bother with seperating out the winchester for minor loads?
  8. You talking about corn cob? I never thought about doing that.
  9. Or do you have 2 seperate tumblers? I get the lyman polishing corn cob media that comes in the pour container and after about the 2nd or 3rd round the brass comes out clean but not as polished as the first. Do you just get regular media in one tumbler, clean it, then have another one full of polishing media? Do you just say the hell with it as long as its not dirty?
  10. I've already decided to buy it. If I can't convert it over I'll just get a slide made up for it...sorry man.
  11. Can I take a SA 9mm and rebarrel it and get new mags and shoot .40? A buddy of mine is trying to sell his so I figured I could pick it up for cheap and have a .40 since springfield doesn't make one.
  12. TOF? Yeah, I was in one of the pits and only had a few loaded up. I'm going to load some more up and try them at 20-25 yards and see. I did 10 because I knew I could hit that target
  13. THey where cci primers. I'm switching to Winchesters so I'm going to work it up again anyway.
  14. I'm doubting this is what happened but there are only 2 things I can think of so I'll ask you guys. I loaded up a batch of about 300rds of 9mm the other day. 4.4 titegroup, 1.150 OAL, 121 haps and shot a little under 100 at a IDPA match with no problems. I went to practice today to use up the rest and shot about 70 or so with no problems. Then I started seeing the FP crater start to fill and then I noticed a couple of popped primers. Now the only 2 things I can think of is the FP spring, which I don't really see how that could have effected anything or that my powder measure was off and I'm pretty sure I weighed checked about every 25 or so.
  15. Stock springer 9mm 1911 5" barrel. I was practicing today and remembered that I had worked up a few 147 xtps and pulled them out. No rest, not even a bench just standing freestyle at 10 yards. I was amazed that I did it much less how the load performed lol. 6 shots made the group with 2 flyers.
  16. Yeah, if it shoots that bad I would send it back. I've got its twin only I bought a pair of trophy match grips for it. I've finally got a load worked up that I can free hand to around 3-4" at 20-25 yards, stock barrel, stock bushing! Oh to have a trophy match :-)
  17. I just got done talking to springfield and I can second that they say they send them out with 9# recoil springs. If thats the case why do so many people run 12#ers, or does it just come down to preferance again?
  18. 9mm 1911 loaded full size Just got done talking to springfield and they said they put 9# 9mm springs in their loaded 9mm 1911s 5"ers
  19. The spring that is in my 9mm 1911 now has 36 coils and the wire is 0.040 thick? It is longer and thinner than the wilson 10# that was in a unopened pack from a Recoil kit I got in trade and in turn that wilson is longer and thinner than a stock .45 spring I had. Any idea on what size the one in my 9mm is?
  20. Springfield Armory 9mm 1911. As far as I know stock extractor.
  21. Yeah, I've got the light pack on order now. So do you basically go down until it doesn't feed and then back up or just until you like the way it feels?
  22. You running a 17 or 19 main spring?
  23. Your running a 12.5# recoil spring in your .45 and that should be ok for my 9mm? So I need to get the new pins before I can get a new mainspring? Right now I'm running the parts that came out of the ILS in my SA mainspring housing/magwell. Is there a benifit of TI over steel? What about the compact question? Also variable or standard? Would running shock buffers have anything to do with the pound of spring I'm running? Sorry for all the questions lol.
  24. RPD, how would loading it long keep it from coming out of the chamber? I'm pretty sure I didn't short stroke it as I do remember thinking, "that was funny nothing came out". Now I load to 1.15 which is factory for WWB ball ammo right?
  25. Ok, I'm a little confused and I need to pick your brain. Is it correct in my assumption that you want to run as high a recoil spring as you can and still feed reliably to reduce felt recoil? Also on the other hand you want to run as small a MS as possible to reduce trigger pull but big enough to light the primer? The reason I ask this is that I'm wanting to replace the springs in my 9mm SA 1911 as I have no idea what they are. I shoot mainly 130 PF reloads but would like to buy some WWB and still have it function ok. I'm looking at a 17-19 wolff mainspring and, according to midway factory 9mm spring is 14#, so I was looking at around a 12# recoil spring? I know the 9mm isn't much on recoil but the more I can reduce flip the quicker I can get aimed back on the A/-0 right! Also, I'm getting ready to pick up a used SA loaded .45 that will serve duel roles as house gun and competiton gun. Should I just leave the springs stock for reliability or can I lower the mainspring to around a 19 as well and leave the recoil spring at 16#? Also being that these are SA with ILS do I need to replace any of the pins in the mainspring houseing? The 9mm has a SA magwell/MSH and the .45 will have a light weight one with a slip on magwell. Basically I'll be removing the ILS houseings and I was told that I needed to replace the Mainspring cap, cap pin, and MSH pin retainer? If I do, do I basically get the same pins and just get a diffrent sized spring for my compacts?
