  1. Cliff If we feel the range may be unsafe due to ice or snow we try to cancel the match as early as possible and we post the match cancellation on the website. We have a weather link on the website to check area weather. We try to cancel matches no later than 7:00 am on shoot day. I post information to the website and I also will be a RO on stage 5 so I will be one of the first to know of the match being canceled. If you want PM me the day before and I will let you know if it looks like we might be considering rescheduling the match for some reason. Craiger
  2. Flex, Just as everyone has posted I-24 to I-57 exit at West Frankfort at the top of the ramp go right about 1/2 mile to the light "Rt37", turn left at the light and go about 1 1/2 miles range is on the left look for the gates.
  3. The March 4, 2007 SIGC USPSA match will be a six stage classifier match. Shooters will be allowed to shoot one gun appropriate for classification in one division as per USPSA Classification Rules, Procedures and Policies. The match fee for shooters will be $20.00 Sign up time for shooters will be 11:30am to 1:00pm, with stage shooting commencing at 12:00noon. This time will be strictly adhered to due to the length of time for shooters to progress through six classifier stages. In the event of inclimate weather, the alternate date for a classifier match is April 1, 2007. Southern Illinois Gun Club "SIGC" Webpage
  4. Dan just like you and Sandi, We have no children. Our dogs Casey and Apoll are our kids. It was one of the saddest days of our life when we had to make that same tough decision to put our first dog down. The days will pass and the hurt will slowly go away and you guys will be able to look back at all the great times you all shared, but until that day comes please accept our deepest condolences for your lose.
  5. I love mine can't say enough good things about them, get the Bedells you won't regret it. That is a grip that was done by me. Actually I think that's a pic I took. I can stipple, undercut, reduce. I just don't do paint as I haven't found a combination that will stand up to the wear and tear that IPSC shooters put guns through. PM me if you'd like any info. ETA: Found the pic. Matt I did not realize you did the grip reduction. I apologize for not giving you the credit for the grip work. Just to clarify, I bought this gun from Matt and just assumed since Dan had built the gun that he had done the grip work. As I said before I just love how the gun fits my hand with the grip work that was done by Matt. Sorry for any confusion this might have caused.

  7. The feed latch is usually staked on. If you try to bend it it might break away from the stakes. But if you don't care... bend away. On one of my 1100's the feed latch is not staked. It works fine without the staking but is harder to put back together. I use a cut up toothpick to hold the feed latch to the receiver when I reattach the trigger assembly to the receiver. I just have to be sure to shake-out the toothpick after it has been reassembled. Well here is an update. I took a small c-clamp and clamped the feed latch into the groove and slightly bent the latch to catch a little more of the shell. I also cut the mag spring back to where it is about 8" past the mag tube. The results are mixed, It has improved to only 2 failures in two boxes of shells but these two failures happened in the same test. 3rd run through the mag. Run 1 no malf. Run 2 no malf. Run 3 two malf. shot5 and shot8. run 4 & 5 also no problems. I called and talked to a Smith who is a Remington Certified but he does trap and skeet guns and he told me the interceptor latch keeps only the last round from flying out. He also said I could bend the feed latch slightly but warned about going to far as it will not release the next shell. Will see how it runs at our local 3 gun match Sunday. Thanks to everyone who posted. Craiger
  8. Having gone back and looked at the parts list I have found the interceptor latch and see that this is not the same as the feed latch. I can hit the forearm firmly with the palm of my hand and the shell will pop off the feed latch approx. 1/8" out of the mag tube far enough that the end of the gate cannot move without hitting the back of the shell.. The feed latch is just barely catching the shell. Can I bend the feed latch slightly to make more contact with the shell or am I am I not seeing the forest for the trees
  9. No I did not shorten the spring. Is this something that is done?
  10. 1.. No been shooting Rem Nitro Gold and Sporting load. First time it ever acted was on a slug stage has continued since. 2.. Not sure what to look for.. 3-4.. No never been Dremeled 4 Not sure again what to look for.. Just to be sure I understand, in the Remington Manual part# 43 states Feed latch are we talking about the same thing?
  11. My Remington 1100 with choate mag tube and speed loader gate has developed a problem all of the sudden a shell from the mag tube moving past the feed latch or shell stop “The part that holds the shells in the mag tube” approx. 1/8” and causing the feed latch to come in contact with the shell and causing a jam. Sometimes I just have to push the shell back into the mag tube so the feed latch reengages the shell, but I have had the shell jam under the carrier and this type of jam is near impossible to clear.. Any thoughts or remedies would be appreciated.. Thanks in advance, Craiger
  12. Bounty Hunter: "You're wanted, Wales." Josey Wales: "Reckon I'm right popular. You a bounty hunter?" Bounty Hunter: "A man's got to do something for a living these days." Josey Wales: " Dyin' ain't much of a living, boy."
  13. I had the same experience. I bought his Bedell Lightning and 4 mags. Great gun, was just as Matt described. Both gun and mags have run flawless since I received the gun aprox. 1000 rds. Both Matt and Dan were great, answered all my questions in a prompt and polite manner. The only flaw with this gun is I can't use the excuse that the gun is holding me back Thanks GM Matt. I also want to thank Dan Bedell for getting the fiber-optic sight installed in time for me to shoot a match last Sunday. I would not hesitate to buy another gun or Mags from Matt and I am currently saving for a Bedell Open gun. Craig
  14. Hey Matt let me know when you get my back-up gun broken in..
