  1. Atlanta Conservation Club- Multi-Gun Match, Sunday, August 9th www.atlantacc.net Come out and join us in a fun and challenging Multi-Gun match that will be sure to test your skills with rifle, pistol, and shotgun. If you shot our April and/or June Multi-Gun match, you can expect this match’s difficulty level to be similar. If you didn’t shoot one of our matches earlier this year, than you can expect this match to be a little more demanding than ACC matches in past years— shots will be a bit more technical, and the shooting positions a bit more physical. This month, there will be 5 challenging courses of fire: two stages using 2 guns, one stage using all 3 guns, and two stages using 1 gun. Please be aware that there will be an all shotgun stage requiring a minimum of 28 rounds of birdshot to complete, so please plan accordingly as to have some way of carrying enough shells to complete the stage. There will be a trap-bag, dump-pouch, or similar provided at this stage for anyone who needs it. If you are a newer shooter, don't be afraid to ask a veteran Multi-Gunner to borrow equipment. It is very common in this sport, especially when starting out, due to the various gear. Also, if you are a veteran Multi-Gunner, please bring any additional shell holders you may have lying around to loan to newer shooters. MATCH DATE: Sunday, August 9th Registration: 9:00AM Shooters' Meeting: 9:45 AM Match starts immediately following shooters' meeting SCORING: Time Plus. USPSA Multi-Gun equipment rules www.uspsa.org Round Counts: Handgun: 41 Rifle: 46 Birdshot: 46 Slugs: 5 MATCH FEE: $20 per shooter Saturday Crew: $10 off (contact MD ahead of time for details) Sunday Crew: $5 off (Be at the range, by 7:30, and stay for Tear Down) RO = $5 off (discounts may be combined) SET-UP: Due to the complexity of Multi-Gun stages, some set-up will be required on the Saturday before each match date. There will also be some set up the day of the match at 8:00 AM. Please help if you can. Contact the Match Director for details if you could help out. Remember, the more help we get from volunteers like you, the better the matches will be! NOTE: All matches at AtlantaCC are conducted under a COLD RANGE. All handguns must be either holstered (or bagged) at all times, unloaded, hammer down, with no magazine inserted. Long guns must be unloaded, with no magazine inserted, actions open and/or with a chamber safety flag in place. When transporting long guns from stage to stage they should be bagged or secured in a gun-cart. Long guns may also be slung or carried from stage to stage, provided that their muzzles are pointed up. Once at a stage, long guns should remain bagged, in a gun-cart, or in one of our provided gun racks until it is your turn to shoot. You may only handle your gun(s) at the direction of the range officer (RO), or in the designated "safe areas." You may not handle any ammunition or loaded magazines in the safe areas. Violation of these or any other safety rules shall result in a match disqualification Dates of Remaining Multi-Gun Matches ACC: August 9 October 11 www.atlantacc.net Barzini.pdf Corleone.pdf Cuneo.pdf Stracci.pdf Tattaglia.pdf
  2. Since no one has answered yet, I guess I'll just pack slings for both my long-guns just in case. RZ
  3. Thanks, guys. I should have specified... I already have a Tripp 52, a Nordic +17, and a Sterling 40. I have a pair of cinched 30's w/ Arredondo pads, but I wanted to also have a pair of cinched 40's as there has been an occasion where I could have used a tad more height than the 30's provided. I'd love to find another Sterling, but I haven't seen any for a reasonable price. I may just get one of the cheap 40-rounder to cinch to my Sterling just for mono-poding, and not even use it. If the mag worked, than it'd be a bonus. Thanks, Ryan
  4. I'd like to have a pair of them cinched for mono-podding. I saw that Sportsman's Guide had 40-rounders in stock. I called and was told they are manufactured by National Magazine. I have read about PMI and Bushmaster 40's and what can be done to improve them, but I wanted to know if anyone has had success doing the same with National Mags. Thanks, Ryan
  5. I have a Caspian Hi-Cap Limited gun in both 9mm and .40. For 9mm, I use OEM Caspian 9mm/.38 Super magazines, springs and followers, and add an EGW +2 basepad. By cutting out the dimples on either side of the mag and modifying the follower, I achieve 22+1. That's easily 21 rounds reloadable, and on some of them, 22 reloadable. For .40, the new factory Caspian .40 mags/basepads + Grams STI springs/followers I'm able to achieve 21+1 (20 rounds reloadable). I had to bend the Grams spring a tad so that the follower sits on an angle and doesn't pop out of the lips. I haven't tried the Grams followers designed for EAA yet. Before the Caspian tubes were available, I had my best luck with Tanfoglio tubes which I had to fit in the gun with CPMI basepads, shaved down to fit the gauge. This combo + Grams I can achieve 21+1 (21 rounds reloadable). The CPMI must offer just a hair more internal volume, with a tweaked spring, it seems like a 21.5 round mag, but I've never been able to get 22 to function. I'd like to experiment with a Bolen spring/follower with this mag to see if I can get 22 in the mag. I use an EGW undersized die, on all my reloads, and find it an absolute must. Without it, the rounds will start to nosedive, regardless. Another mod that has increased my reliability with my .40 mags is to shorten the front of the mag, closest to the feedramp with a Dremel cut-off disk. I take it down about the width of a disk. This gives an extra little bit of clearance, in case of a nosedive. I also bevel the inner side of this cut to encourage a ramping up. Hope this helps, Ryan
  6. Before Caspian Hi-Cap .40 mags were available, I had successfully modified several Tanfoglio .40 and 10mm mags. The modification was quite easy. Has anyone tried doing the same with Tanfoglio mags in 9mm? The factory Tanfoglio 170mm big sticks are only listed for "38 Super Rimless". The factory length tubes are available in both 9mm and Super. I'm wondering if there is any difference between the two. I'm thinking about buying one of the factory length Super mags and experimenting with it to see if 9mm will indeed work with it before I shell out the money for one of the big sticks. But, if anyone has already tried this, please let me know if it didn't work and save me the time and money. Thanks, Ryan Zamberlan
  7. ERIC, I have been wondering about this myself. It is my understanding that the bushing used is the only non-hardware store part in the DE interceptor mod. I'm curious to hear if anyone has had success with a similar mod using common hardware. If there is anyone out there that has an 1100 or 11-87 with the real-deal DE mod, that could give us the specs on the bushing, we'd sure appreciate it. Ryan Zamberlan
  8. The 2004 USPSA Rifle Rules US Appendix D2-14 states compensators with a maximum of 1.00" diameter and 3.00" length are permitted in Tactical Rifle, but D2-15 states that ports are not permitted. As the rules appear to me, it would be illegal to port an otherwise plain barrel, even if the diameter of the barrel was no larger than 1.00" and the series of holes/slots didn't not extend more than 3.00" behind the muzzle. If so, where is the distinction made? Is a compensator required to be a separate device from the barrel? If you cut 3" off a barrel, then machine that 3" piece into a comp, and thread it back onto the barrel it is now legal? This is legal, but this is illegal?
  9. I was able to get the video to work, but it was slow. I don't see how this is would be much faster than a sidesaddle, since you would be moving your hand about the same distance, and you're still grabbing one shell at a time. However, I'd love to see one at a match and/or have the opportunity to try it.
  10. Actually, I'm looking for a holster to use in Multi-Gun. I use a CR Speed race holster for USPSA. When I shoot Multi-Gun, I have to lock my CR, or chance my pistol flying out as I'm moving with a long gun. Then when I abandon my long gun and have to draw my pistol, having to disengage the CR’s lock defeats the whole purpose of a “race holster”. Plus, having to go prone with a long gun while carrying a pistol in a CR is uncomfortable. Which STI pistol do you have? I think a kydex holster made for an STI Eagle might work with my Caspian Hi-Cap since they are both 5”, have standard dust covers, and square trigger-guards. Blade Tech makes one for the Eagle, but the lady there told me that it wouldn't work with my Caspian, as they're holsters were "weapon specific".
  11. Does anyone know where to find a kydex belt holster that will fit a Caspian Hi-Cap?
