Do you know what grip you have on the Titan?  If you have a Cheely grip, the Cheely magwell should be a drop in.  If you have a PT grip, the Limcat magwell can fit if you want to remove some material off the magwell or the grip.  I have the PT grip with the Limcat magwell combo.

I'm not sure if a Limcat magwell will fit the Cheely grip or a Cheely magwell will fit the PT grip.  How the magwell locks to the grip seems quite different on the Cheely grip.  Of course, there is also the Atlas grip but I have not played with one before so not sure what the cut is.

BSPS has the Limcat aluminum magwell in stock but I would advise checking what type of grip you have first.

The OP said he bought a Titan RDS. That's the v2 gen pistols, and they all come with the Atlas grip.

  2. We had two BULs—an SAS II Standard and a UR Shorty for Open. The Standard is the same as your Saw but without the “saw” design on the slide. Ran them for a season and had very good luck with both. Only thing is their proprietary mags. Worked great but capacity is lower than regular 2011 mags. I’m B class so wasn’t a huge issue. Was impressed with guns overall.

    I don't see a safety issue.

There might or might not be a reliability issue. Pistol rounds are supposed to headspace on the case mouth. The difference in case length is small but, depending on the extractor, the case might move when the firing pin is striking the primer. Also, .356TSW is designed for more power than 9x19 or 9x21. The recoil spring could be too much for the "lesser" rounds.

Have you seen this article from 2021?

    https://www.ssusa.org/articles/2021/3/10/356-tsw-a-comeback-kid/

Thank you. That info is quite helpful. I just read that article this morning and that's what got me thinking about 9x21.

Have you tried to find .356 TSW ammo?  I'm guessing it's thin on the ground so you won't be shooting it a lot unless you have a reloading setup for that caliber (maybe some common dies work, IDK)

I've found a company that makes it (Underwood), it is expensive though. I've been searching and calling to see if I could get a 9mm barrel fit to it and haven't had luck yet.

I have a question--the 356TSW is a 9x21.5mm round. Winchester (and several others) commercially make 9x21 ammo that is much more reasonably priced. Hypothetically, do you think there would be a safety issue in shooting 9x21 out of a 9x21.5 barrel?

Why do you want to buy it?

Seems to me that it would be a curiosity or collectors item.

Cannot tell from the photo if it is dirty or if there are really gouges in the metal.

I want to buy it because of a combination of the gun's looks, my curiosity in wanting to shoot it, and it is a specific type of gun that I like outside of uspsa/steel--the S&W 3rd generation autos.

Also, thank you for the input on whether it's normal wear or not. I can't tell either.

  6. thanks, this gives me a good starting point for what to expect with the Lockwood. We don't reload, so it'll probably be the usual game of finding a factory load or two that the gun likes.

Thats much cleaner than mine. I did it myself a couple years ago. Its amazing how mine feels good and look like crap at the same time. Yours looks nice and im guessing it feels good too

Yes, I'm very pleased with it, thank you. My friend recommended to not go all the way up the backstrap with the silicone carbide so as to make it easier to shift my grip when hitting the mag release for reloads and I'm glad I took his recommendation.

I'm running 124s at 130PF 100% reliable and around 2" at 25 yards with the Lockwood.  I suck at group shooting.  After 15 years of 1911 triggers, I'm still learning the P320 trigger.  I have no issues with it at match speed, but slow fire, from a rest is hard for some reason.  We will see if the new pistol does any better.

Okay thank you--that's encouraging. My friend did a grip job on my TXG that is silicone carbide, has the top shelf on the left shaved off, and has a baby palm swell and it feels incredible. I think it's similar to the Alma Cole grip so I bet you're going to love yours!

  9. Great looking guns! I'm interested in what your comparison yields. I bought a Lockwood top recently and sent the gun to TSA for a trigger job.

Someone told me that the Lockwood tops like higher pf loads. I'm hoping to shoot regular 130pf factory stuff. Ranger, what pf do you run in your Lockwood?

  10. That's a bummer. I have a P10f Optics Ready that I got for CO for myself and (not to make you more frustrated, but) I literally shot 1" groups at 25yds off a rest with Freedom Munitions 124gr and 147gr. I was pleasantly surprised at how it shoots. I shot a G45 for awhile and love it and bought a P10f because it was cheap and looked cool and it would be another CO gun. I know the Competition Ready version is slightly different but that sounds like there is something not to spec, and not just some poor mechanical accuracy.

I'm going with the Stealth Arms Platypus.  Did all the customizations on their site, went with the DPP milled version (HS and ACRO weren't available yet but are now), tri-topped slide, full length rail, threaded barrel (slightly longer than the non-threaded), square trigger guard, flat trigger and magwell, with my build-a-bear color choices and chainlink on the frontstrap/backstrap.

The picture below shows iron sights - on the optics models, that's a plate that comes off for the optic to direct-mount (no plate), along with a rear sight that screws in behind it, all locked in with a set screw.

When I ordered, you needed to email them about the trigger, but they'd do a 2.5 lb for competition use.  Now that's an option in their picker.

Being able to use the Glock mags I already have saves $$$ on mags vs. a 2011 and every video I've found on these shows them just running.

All in for $1740.  Should hopefully be shipping this week.

oh that's a really interesting gun--a 1911-style that uses glock mags. I hadn't heard of Stealth Arms before.

  12. Picked up a 322 and put on a Romeo Zero and the Armory Craft trigger. Shot a bowling pin match with it and love it. Worked 100% (used the 20rd mags and CCI Mini-Mag) and the AC trigger made a nice difference. Trigger was $60 and took about 15 minutes to install and tweak to remove pretravel and overtravel.

Yes! and also Detroit Sportsmen's Congress and Raccoon Hunters. There's something every weekend.

    @WestPat that mpa looks great!

do you guys feel that a 4.25 inch gun is a disadvantage for LO?  I have a staccato p and a prodigy that will work, but I have have never shot a gun that short in competition before. Most is my Matches have been shot with 6 inch limited guns ?

    joe

I don't think it holds *me* back. I actually prefer shorter guns for gun games. I ended up with a G45 for CO, my favorite Open gun was a BUL Shorty that was 4.25" plus comp, and currently the frontrunner on my LO list is a 4.25" Prodigy.

I would try the stronger thicker trigger return spring that I gave you, and also bend out the connector a bit more. Did you get my other message about connectors? I have multiples of every type and if you want I can pack you a set of each one. connectors do not play the same with every Glock, this is what I have also found. did you find the setscrew to control the overtravel?

I checked my messages and I didn't find one from you. Are you sure it was me? I liked the trigger with the regular Timney spring but when I started having reset issues, I switched in the red spring and it made the pull heavier, which I don't like. I want to avoid putting in increasingly stiffer springs that increase the trigger pull if I can. I would be really happy if I can bend the connector and that would fix the reset issue and I can go back to the lighter spring.

  16. I emailed Timney because I lost my red spring (behind a cabinet) and ended up mentioning that I have a reset issue.

    Here is what they said:

A lot of times when there is a reset issue with these triggers, the culprit is the connector bar jutting out too far from the trigger pocket. I attached two photos- photo A is what may be happening, you want it to look more like photo B. Where there is no daylight between the connector bar and the trigger pocket. If you are still having issues after that, let us know and we can start the warranty process on this trigger.

Here are the two photos she sent:

I looked at my connector bar and it is similar to photo A. My question is, will it do anything negative if I try and bend the connector to make it look more like photo B? Or is there another way to make the connector look like photo B?
