Been running the 70* block with various factory ammo

    Syntech 130

    Syntech 150

    Syntech 124

    Eley 124 Competition

    Eley 124 PCC

    SuperVel 124 Competition.

all have run the gun with no issues, ejection has been strong.

    Havent chronographed anything yet .

Just installed the firing pin, cause they sent it. and  ran about 50 rounds this morning and it ran.

anyone know what the new FP offers?

what load/ammo listed here felt best to you with the least dot movement?

Interesting! I've owned a MPX previously and liked it a lot. The weight is really not significant IMHO. I do get a stiff charging handle when it gets dirty, kind of frustrating for the cost!

the weight is significant once you use light weight and realize how much it affect transitions.

Don’t say that. I’ll have to go buy it and I really want to build a new limited gun lol

Its well worth it, lol. Promise.

I'd be interested in the difference in dot movement between the different locks.

I just ordered a 70-degree to test with my 130pf 115gr load with both 70 and 80 locks. I will report back in a few weeks. I can tell you right now that the 80 with my load barely moves the dot, its crazy.

I went through this with my own X5 Legions.   I landed on the middle spring and short bushing.

It took quite a bit of time and ammo to make a decision.

I did things like shoot doubles and marking where the 2nd shot landed.

Running the plate rack helped with dot tracking.

Good to know, yea with 4 springs and 3 bushing, there are tons of variables ha. I will try the 2nd spring and short bushing. Thx.

How much better was/is it than the 12/13/14lb spring you ran prior or tested against?

I've had two R3Max that have had cracked glass.

Same area; across the base from side to side.

    They continued working.

I don't know what the cause is.

Are they just breaking spontaneously for some reason or is a case hitting them just right? ... don't know.

lots will say “Chinese” but you know they’re logging data to improve QC as this is costing them more than they want it to, regardless of still being profitable.

There is a slight but noticeable difference.

To the gentleman that says his GMR shoots soft. I will disagree. I have over 80,000 rounds through my GMR and a short stroke kit from JP. The JP5 is significantly softer with little to no red dot sight movement.

good to know thx. Yea the DB GMR isn’t even close to JP5.

I would probably leave the 70 in it and be done with it.  But note that my experience is still limited.  I shot my friend’s gun and I just got mine.

looking at the brass ejection pattern of the 60 in shooting my 131pf ammo, i would not trust it to be reliable over an entire match.  It worked for both of us in one stage but the brass ejection was very close, some seem to be almost like falling out.

wasn’t really focused on recoil, it’s already very soft.  Was more focused on dot movement and there was very little.

the chrono was almost spot on compared to my gmr-15.  I am going to load up some rounds with long shot and see how it feels compared to sport pistol. Recipe is 4.2 grains 147gn 1.15 oal for around 130pf out of a gmr-15.

good to know. Yea 60° is super aggressive. I’m going to order a 70° and test. Thx.

I’ve been using the version 1 or version 2 plated.

since I use titegroup there is still buildup on the comp after a bunch of matches but I get through way more rounds before cleaning than I did with blues

I had this issue as I said with Berry's and Xtreme, I hated it, so I recently switched to Everglades Double Plated v2 I think it was, not enough time with them to see what the difference is yet. I am using Sport Pistol though, if more than marginally better Ill continue to use them, otherwise Ill go to Everglades JHPs.

  10. Figured I would share all my load data I have collected with different powders & 9mm bullets with my X5 Max's and my Brekke 12.5" PCC. I am still collecting data for my JP5. The MP5 is an A2 8" barrel. Let me know if you have questions. Thx.

    *ASP = Alliant Sport Pistol

    * 100gr RN = Berry's 100gr 9mm .356 HBRN

    * Plated were Berry's or Xtreme

While I am not loading to Minor PF what I can tell you is that I'm using Clays (sub-minor SC load).  I was using Sport Pistol before.  When loaded to the same PF I could feel a HUGE difference in felt recoil between the SPP and the Clays.  The Clays was MUCH softer.  That being said, you are NOT going to get Minor PF with 115's and Clays.  Using their load data you are maybe going to hit 120.

In my testing 3.0gr of Clays under a 124 Everglades PRN at 1.12oal got me around 120PF from my PCC with a Taccom barrel. I tested the same charge under a 147 Everglades PRN and got 135PF.  Taking the OAL to 1.13 put it at 134PF.  Once again, all out of a Taccom XLW sleeved barrel.  None of this is with a JP5... that might be in the future.  Since my barrel is pistol-length, you can probably count on a slightly higher PF from a full-length barrel.

In conclusion: just under 3.0gr of Clays with a 147gr PRN at 1.12/1.13 will get you Minor PF with plenty of room to spare.  If you are more in the 124gr. camp then maybe 3.2 would get you there.  I only have data for 3.2gr Clays and a 135gr coated and that was 128PF out of my Canik TP9SFx.  Also, Clays does a nice job filling the case and easy to see.

Thx for the info, I am only concerned with JP5, not a DB-PCC, but thanks!

Strange though considering Clays is faster than SP. Ive tried the following powders at the same approx PF in my DB-PCC with little difference in dot movement and felt recoil impulse.

    • Sport Pistol
    • Win 231
    • Win 244
    • N320
    • N340

Even tried 115gr plates, 115gr JHP, and their 124gr counterparts... in the end, I stuck with SP as I had 58lbs of it.

nice soft load, like a .22 lol

Mine is stupid soft too, what elevation are you at?

Take a 3-4 month break each year. Me, being from the northern midwest, I am forced to not shoot any matches because its too darn cold outside. Not only will you be super excited to get back into it, you'll notice that after some de-rusting, you've actually improved in some aspects. The brain needs some rest to allow things to really settle in. Nearly all pro sports have an off season, you should too.

And when I mean a break, I mean do not practice, don't even think about the sport. You can use the time reload ammo and tinker with guns to prepare for the future though. I'm surprised you haven't burnt out quicker at that rate.

Thanks for the info. Several people have told me this and I ignored it. I plan on doing that as soon as winter is here in UT. I also am looking into get another puppy/dog to help me be distracted from the sport and focus my energy/awareness on something other than shooting. My kids would love another dog since ours past away last year.

Burn out did it me super hard, a few people asked if I were depressed lol.
