  1. For giggles I just took a 1.5mm hex tool and pushed the bottom battery contact up a bit and now the optic turns on. I have no idea if any optic like the Romeo3 Max requires periodic tweaking like what I just did or if it was just a fluke that it now turns on.

  2. Got a new Romeo 3 Max and put it on my new G34 MOS. Have 600 rounds through the gun and the optic doesn't turn on. I'm calling Sig Wed morning but was wondering if there is a simple, secret "fix" other than putting in a new battery.

    Thanks

Just got a Johnny Glock trigger. Not sure what everyone is raving about. Very short take-up and overtravel, but the trigger is heavier than stock. This was after i sent the trigger back the first time because the trigger would not break. I contacted Johnny Glock and he said that the trigger not breaking sometimes happens with Gen 5 glocks.

I guess I will keep contacting him. I get it won't ever be super crisp, single action trigger, but i was expecting an improvement over a stock trigger.

I have another Glock 34 with a Vogel trigger in it. The Vogel trigger is leaps and bounds better.

What do you like about the Vogel trigger?

Mine is a 17 but it would be the same for a 34.

I also like to change out the recoil spring to 13# for 130PF ammo. You’ll have to get a new guide rod to accomplish that.

I spoke to Wolff and they said they don't make guide rods or recoil springs for any Gen 5 models.

A 3.5# connector has a less steep angle driving the cruciform downwards. Less steep angle = more distance to get the striker to release = rolling break feel.

5# connector makes the release action happen over less distance for a more crisp feel at the cost of more resistance/heavier trigger.

Nothing wrong with a 3.5# connector. It’s just about what break feel you want.

Thanks for the info. The only handgun I shot was a 1911 with a great trigger. Where did you get your FPS and plunger spring?

If you want a crisp trigger in a Glock stay away from 3.5# connectors.

I use a 5# lone wolf connector, 4.5lbFPS and lightened plunger spring. Mirror polish all internals. I get about a 3.5# pull with a really short break travel. Probably as close to a single action trigger as you can get in a glock.

You also have to consider the engagement between striker and cruciform. Too little engagement is unsafe but gives a very crisp break. Too much engagement (past 100%) will lengthen break travel making it not crisp.

Also having a loaded mag in a Glock changes the trigger feel a little. You need upward pressure on the slide to check engagement and to give you real world feel.

Why is a 3.5lb a no-go? Where did you get your FPS and plunger spring?

Just got a Carver gen5 rod. Haven’t shot yet but will tomorrow. One thing that stood out is the length. It is a true gen5 rod. It is longer than a gen 3, 34 rod. It goes clear to the end of the slide. So be aware of what your buying. Gen3, and Gen4 rods will fit and work but are shorter. The rod I got is for ISMI springs, I think Wolff would work also just not sure.

What pound recoil spring are you using?

But yeah, the top choices seem to be a Walther q5 variant, Sig 320 x5 legion, Shadow 2, Tangfo and Canik. Not sure why but of the Glock pistols I see far far more 17 and 19 in CO than the 34......

Interesting. I think I've seen surveys that show the top 3 guns in CO nationals are X5, S2 and G34. No mention of G17 or G19.

When you install trigger bar into trigger mechanism housing be sure trigger spring stays centered like pictured and doesn't twist to the side like this:

    Got it now. Thanks.

Yeah, check this before you do anything else. It's easy to put this spring in "crooked".

People say it needs to be in an "S" configuration. If the end that attaches to the housing is facing down, then the end attached to the trigger bar arm needs to face up. Is that correct?

connector is not installed correctly.( you bent it)

I'll look. If the firing pin and firing pin safety move "normally" and the connector wasn't bent, any other suggestions?

  12. I have the Gen 4 and am not a gunsmith. Did my first trigger job. Pull was 5+ lbs before any work. I took some 2000 grit sandpaper to the usual surfaces every one says to work over a bit. Then took a Dremel and Flitz to polish all the areas.

Put the gun back together and now the pull is 7+ lbs.

Any suggestions on where to look for the cause of a worse pull?
