Hi Mark, I'm also considering to buy the T1000 hangar to fit my DAA Flex holster onto it.
Overall the feedback is more positive than negative, but this is some of the negatives I've read, heard and seen on the T1000: longer picatiny brackets are uncomfortable and press into the hip/leg (even with the pads), the picatiny bracket cracks/breaks off when the gliding support peace is tilted too far out, many screws and even with special washers must be checked and tightned regularly.
I'm from Belgium and the hangar is not easy to acquire over here. I found a work around and ordered it. Awaiting dilivery and looking forward to test it. Although I'm very pleased with the original DAA hangar, I think that the T1000 offers much more flexibility to improve that holster sweet spot. Looking forward to test it.

Thanks for all the feedback so far
Regarding the CZ grip, I am okay with a bit shorter grip due to magwell I think, what I meant was I would have liked a bigger backstrap. With the original grip on my S2, my strong hand covers pretty much the entire grip, and leaves no room for the support hand. I am currently using the thickest grips I could find, Armanov SpidErgo 2, measuring 1.60" at their widest. Still, there is relatively limited room for my support hand. I found that with 2011 grips, the backstrap is longer, and allows for a bit more room for the support hand.
Thanks for the detailed post, StefVanHauwe. I thought your name sounded familiar at first, now I realized that I definitely watched your reviews on the BUL some time ago How was the waiting time for the HPS Open Master pistols? I heard it could be a bit long, but on the other hand I am in hurry. In case I get to participate in the IPSC world shoot next year, I would most likely still go for Production Optics anyway, since I am still most familiar with this platform.
How do you find the "flatness" of the HPS Open Master? The older HPS 2011 open I tried felt pretty flat, but it also had two popple holes drilled at some point.
You're welcome ... I'm just a regular IPSC competitor who shares his journey
I ordered my 2 HPS guns at the end of November 2023, they were ready mid April 2024 and I personally picked them up beginning of May 2024, so less than 6 months, which suited me, because that's also the required time to get gun permits, import licences, etc. in order. HPS produces based on X number of orders and batching them together per model for cost/efficiency reasons. I found him to be direct and honest, to include about his production and delivery.
The 2 HPS guns have both a total of 8 popple holes: a V6 + 2 on top (this is one of the may options for the shooter to decide). Too date the HPS are the flattest shooting race guns I've shot, with minimal dot movement and fast return to zero. I actually use the same reloaded ammo as in my Bul's. Due to the HPS's shorter barrel and popple holes I loose ~5PF (=163) compared to the Bul's (=168).

The improvement will happen when their "engineers" learn and become good designers.

The magwell will shorten the cz grips even more vs a shadow 2. Consider that.
Do you know if the Bul uses standard 2011 mags?
Hard to beat a 2011 open gun. You can always change things, no gun will be perfect out of the box unless you spend major coin, and even then things happen.
Edit: when I read SVH's reply I can hear his voice in my head from watching the YouTube videos. Loyal subscriber here! Haha
Nice to hear
There are rumours, also on this platform, that CZ will come out with a new Czechmate in the near future. I've shot some trainings with a fellow competitor's Czechmate, but didn't really like the platform itserf, grip angle, etc. Really prefer the 2011 ... shooter's preference.

Bull uses their own mags.
HPS….. would be my choice.
Correct, Bul Armory, for unknown reasons do use their own type of 2011 mags. The BA mags are of poor quality, especially their plastic base plates, which break instantly and you best retrofit them with third party parts. Regular 2011 MBX or AGW 2011 mags do not fit/work either. MBX has special mags for BA guns, which I've used with great satisfaction. If you go for a BA gun, I strongly recommend MBX mags specifically for BA. Attention: "Buy once, cry once applies"

Hi there, I'm from Belgium. I started shooting in OD in 2018. My 1st race gun was a new SPS Vista Star in 38, which litterally never worked. Issues from the start, i.e. the barrel was reamed too large from the factory with pressure loss, preventing it from cycling correctly. My gun shop replaced it free of charge with a Bul Armory SAS 2 Ultimate Racer in 9mm, which I still have today. At ~7500 rounds the slide cracked at the ejection port and took ~8 months to be replaced by BA on warranty. Since I was/am very serious about competing, I bought a STI DVC Open in 9mm as my main match gun. Regretted it fast. It did work, but I never managed to get the reloaded ammo tuned right and had to replace several parts in it ... This was one of the last batches produced by STI, which soon thereafter turned into Staccato. I sold this gun with ~4000 rounds on it. I then bought 2 Bul Armory SAS 2 Bullesteros in 9mm. Still have both of them today, but they have also had their fair share of issues .... cracked frame/grip link, which needed rewelding, a new grip/magwell and cost time (~6 months - also in warranty). I really wanted to continue in OD, and started looking at different options: Atlas Gunworks Chaos 2.0 (difficult and very expensive to get in EU), SVI Infinity (they changed their production schedule and offers and are very expensive), and HPS. HPS was most commonly recommended to me by Belgian and foreign competitors at matches, so I reached out to Hans-Peter Schäfer directly. Ï was immediately blown away by his knowldge, experience, time and guidance in selecting the right model for me, i.e. a HPS Open Master in 9mm. We discussed back and forth about the many options that best suited me and I finally picked up the guns in May 2024. I'm currently using them for training and matches. Wow, if I had known about him from the beginning, I would have immediately bought my current guns Not a single issue so far ...

Short stroking in Pistol Caliber Carbines (PCCs) has gained attention in the competitive shooting world, as it supposedly offers faster shot-to-shot recovery times. However, it also presents several drawbacks. In this article, we'll dive into the concept of short stroking, its benefits and disadvantages, and factors to consider when considering this approach.

What primer do you use? Picked up gun today and shot some test loads. Only few went bang. Primer has impact so I’m guessing light primer strikes. I used servicous y aventuras.
I use Fiocchi Small Pistol Primers

If it works in HPS Open Master and Bul Bullesteros, it should be pretty close in a SAS 2.
Highly recommend FMJ bullets for a comped pistol.
I actually also have a SAS 2 Ultimate Racer The same load data gets me a PF of 162.

Do you shoot USPSA (PF165) or IPSC (PF160)?
Barrel length, type of case (brass/nickel), primers and COAL have an important impact.
I use Armscor 9mm brass, 7,4 gr of VV 3N37, Limit RN 124 gr FMJ at OAL 29,50 mm and crimp at 9,57mm, which gets me a PF of 164 in my HPS Open Master and 168 in my BA Bullesteros (longer barrel).

If you think about it, it's really a pitty that they deviate from a proven generic extractor concept that works for a proprietary extractor system that requires so much checking and replacing in a expensive gun like the SVI ...
