I generally prefer the snappier feel of lighter bullets in my 9mm semi autos vs heavier 147s, but haven't tested any in my 929. Would love to hear what anyone running 115-125gr 9mm in their 929 is using.

let’s assume an Open gun report is 165 dB’s, (which is at the low end). With NRR 33 plugs, using a more conservative calculation, that means your ears are still being exposed to nearly 152dB’s. More than enough to do permanent damage immediately, much less over the course of repeated exposure.
Even if you don’t use OSHA’s recommended 50% correction factor, 33NRR still only provides 26dB of actual attenuation. So your ears are still being exposed to nearly 139dB. Again, more than enough to cause damage.
Agree that doubling is the way to go. Much better to play safe with hearing. Only time I shoot Open with just foamies is the occasional time where I forget to put my muffs on before heading the the start position.
FWIW, I did get my hearing tested after shooting Open for over a year and had no perceptible hearing damage according to the doctor. Will probably continue to get it checked every other year or so to stay safe. Just like lead exposure from this sport, better to stay ahead of it than deal with the issues down the line.

Have you tried going for some top rated (e.g. 33NRR) disposable foam earplugs? I have not found any in-ear ear pro that outperforms the Howard Light Max ear plugs and have converted some folks over to them from custom plugs. I run a Czechmate, so no popples, but it's still comfortable to shoot with just those in, though I prefer to double up to knock the edge off the concussion.

It will turn a 1/4 of a turn past where it is now but then stops, I am unsure if the compensator is out of depth to screw on further, or if the barrel is out of threads. I figure if I had one more turn on there the compensator would be pretty much perfect with .22mm gap.
I know it is a M14x1 die. I do not know if the barrel is hardened and would preclude being further threaded.

I chased the threads on one of my barrels to fit @kneelingatlas's aluminum comp and chased the threads on my backup gun's barrel to close the gap on the factory comp. You may end up with a loose fit if you go a little too far, but the recoil rod keeps the comp indexed so I'm not sure that really matters too much.

Yep, those are springer extensions and they should be able to sell you extra ones. New ones come with several because they are easy to loose and get battered over time. Not the best attachment mechanism IMO but they are the only place offering 170 extensions for the 20 rounds mags. Mine have lived up to close to 15k rounds now, I just swap them if the set screw is noticeable damaged and the actual threaded holes seem fine.
Once you get it sorted out I suggest you add some loctite when you screw the new ones in because they can vibrate themselves out. You might have to lightly file the back left corner of the mag where it touches the set screw or you won't be able to back out the screws enough for it to properly retain the extension. From the looks of it that is what was wrong with these set screws - owner couldn't back them out enough so just left them screwed in all the way and it got mangled.

I was going to say it was likely the thumbrest pushing your support hand in a way that caused the safety or slide stop to interfere. If you want the thumb rest back then just switch to one of the flush pins instead of the slide stop.

Hopefully they are actually 170 and 140s, unlike the CM which both require $35-50 extensions to get them out to the correct lengths.

CZC isn't "pushing" the C-More Slide Ride, that's just what comes with the Czechmate from the factory. They may update it in the future with a more modern option but for now you cannot buy a new Czechmate without the slide ride.
FWIW, the slide-ride has the most crisp dot of any red dot I have tried. It will not hold you back on the Czechmate. The only real drawbacks of it are that it eats batteries and has a greater bore offset. It is heavier than a MRDS but that's a preference thing. If you really don't like it you can just sell it and get the CZC multi optic mount and use a MRDS. Both of my Czechmates have Romeo3 XLs on them now because I prefer the lighter swing weight but I still have a slide ride around as a backup.

I think the grip tape ones (shown on the Czechmate photos on CZ's website) are the old style and the new ones all come with the full aluminum ones, so you might have trouble finding them. I have two CMs from 2018/2019 and have seen several newer ones locally and all of them have had the aluminum grips.

I use a 5/64 SAE bit and it works fine. That's 1.98mm, so maybe that just happens to be close enough to work without stripping, but I've never had an issue with it on two Czechmates and a TSO.

No, you take the racker off and then remove the slide. It's just held in the rear sight dovetail with a set screw.

I see maybe .2-.3 heavier charge (HS6) if I let the press sit for a while between loading sessions. AA#7 is a really fine grain powder so I don't think you would see more than that. I throw one charge and dump it back into the hopper before starting out of an abundance of caution. I also run this aftermarket powder baffle to help keep things more consistent and have found that it tightened up my throw weights.
This is the second time recently that I've heard of someone having a kaboom with a BUL gun, the other being TheHumbleMarksman. Sample size of 2 is way to small to draw any conclusions, but it does make me start to wonder if there is a design flaw going on, especially with so many folks here suggesting this could be an OOB detonation.

I have the XL, but my understanding is it's the same internal electronics, just different glass. I leave mine on during matches and off when it gets put away. With a few hours of dry fire each week and 3 matches a month my first battery lasted about 7-8 months. Always a good idea to keep spare batteries in your range bag in case you need to switch.

Does anyone still sell standalone 75b/SP01 uppers? I'd love to be able to just buy one to pop on my SP01 that already has upgraded internals so I can give CO a try.

I personally agree with this and have a pair of Czechmates that I've been shooting for the last 1.5 years and done well with. I personally really value that the skill bar for working on them and swapping parts is really low so I never have to worry about being MIA while my gun spends 3 months with the builder waiting on a fix. I encourage everyone I talk to interested in Open to give it a look but I make sure to be honest about three things up front: (1) you need to tune the mags to get them reliable, especially the 170s, (2) they don't play nice with JHPs, I had feeding issues with my big sticks even after tuning but after switching to RN those problems have completely disappeared for ~10k rounds, (3) the safety ergonomics are not for everyone and they should try mine out before they buy one.
I'm also very up front that I do everything I can to help the gun run reliably; plunk test every round that comes to the match, visually verify primers are fully seated, clean my mags every few matches, preventatively swap big-stick springs, etc. From what I have seen, my Czechmates run more reliably than the Atlas, Nevermiss, & JPL guns that I see regularly at our local matches, but I really don't know what those folks do as far as preventative prep for reliability, so I can't say definitively that Czechmates are more reliable than those builds, only that mine with my prep is more reliable than theirs with their prep. I certainly don't feel held back and don't regret my choice. In any case, I would much rather have a new Czechmate than a used 2011 of questionable build quality/origin/usage, which is probably what you're going to get for the price of a Czechmate. It's not going to hold most folks back and dramatically lowers the barrier of entry.

The count on your main page only shows the checked items, so you can uncheck ones if there are multiple uploads (e.g. we recently had a stage get thrown out so the score was put up once with all stages and once with the thrown out stage removed), and the count will go down.

I really appreciate all of the responses on this. Pretty sure this thread doubles the available information on these in the wild (at least that I can find)!
For those with match experience with them, have you found that they are picky with brass, i.e. you still sort by headstamp with them, or do they take random range brass just fine?

I found that one and had the same thought. Figured there would be folks around here who have abused them sufficiently to know if they are acceptable for competition use.

Saw a comment in another thread recently that mentioned polymer moons and it peaked my interest. Who all has tried these and what are your thoughts on them? Do they hold up to long term use?

I ended up buying the TKC loader from DAA since they had it for a good price when I was buying my new belt setup.
To answer my original question in more detail in case someone else stumbles upon this in the future: yes, the TKC loader works with the Revolver supply octagonal center moonclips, but the mandrel in the center doesn't hold it at the right height so you need to manually position the moon when loading the first cartridge so it is high enough to align the moon with the extractor groove. After 1-2 cartridges are loaded they keep everything at the right height for loading the rest.

I ended up going with the DAA posts. Still very new to me but I like them so far, though they are definitely pricey. I do really appreciate that you can individually space them out and angle them to work best with your body and reload style, but it took a ridiculously long time to get them all on a new belt and loctite all the fasteners. It's a little aggravating that they don't pre-apply some thread locker to their fasteners at the factory since their products love to come loose without it. The magnets are quite stiff, even with nickel plated moons. I may add some electrical tape on top to make blued moons release a little easier.

I have broken two Romeo 3 XLs on my Czechmates. First one was around 5k rounds in and vertical zero would start to shift within 50 rounds of zeroing, second was around 2.5k rounds and the horizontal adjustment mechanism broke/detached and I literally could not zero it (this was confirmed by Sig). They had new ones back to me within a week both times. I love the optic itself but if either of these replacements break I’ll be switching.
