  1. With only three screws holding the mount on there is a moderate chance that it will shift the zero a bit. It's better than two for repeatability but still not a lot of contact points to consistently index. It probably wouldn't be a huge shift, but you don't need to remove the optic mount to get all of the other parts out of the Czechmate/TSO frames so there's not reason to take off the mount unless you are switching to a different one. Having said that, there's not really any reason why you need to deep clean the trigger bar or sear cage for the Czechmate; gunscrubber as previously mentioned is more than sufficient. With mine I've never done more than scrape off any major gunk with picks every 1-2k rounds and then take the sear cage out and blast it and the inside of the frame with gunscrubber (or brake cleaner) once or twice a season.
  2. +1 to this, the Abyss1232 videos are some of the best on how to take apart the sear cages for a few different CZ pistols.
  3. First person video is not worth much for assessing what's going on w.r.t. recoil. Take some slo-mo video from the side, at the height of the gun, with your arms and shoulders in the shot so you can clearly see if you're getting pushed around or breaking your wrists/elbows. Grab the person at your next match who you think has the best grip and get slo-mo of them shooting your gun as well. WAC is not the 9 Major powder de-jour but it's not wildly inappropriate and the BE 2-port comp with 8lb recoil springs is an extremely popular build combo. You probably can get some improvement with spring and load tuning, but I doubt it's the cure you're looking for; grip and recoil management are an order of magnitude more important than load tuning.
  4. Reach out to CZ Custom and see if they have it in the works. They make an aftermarket extended safety for the Czechmate
  5. I never used the word required, but if we have to put *something* in a position where it is likely that it will end up shot (e.g. vision barriers during the 180), we typically will choose barrels to keep our walls in good shape. And since barrels are often not checked for hits at Level 1 matches, making them soft cover ensures that scoring will be consistent, even with inconsistent ROs. At a L2 match where there are static ROs, I would be much less likely to include soft cover barrels.
  6. If a shooter decides to shoot through a soft cover barrel, that's a risk they are assuming. We had an activator behind a soft cover barrel at a match last year and of the ~3 people that tried shooting through it, 1 actually got it right away and it probably saved them <1s, one shot half a mag at it and never hit it, and the third had it deflect and hit the popper stand, which cost them multiple seconds having to run back and shoot the activator from the intended spot. On the flip side, if you DON'T make barrels soft cover you are providing an opportunity for inconsistent RO scoring/likelihood of reshoots if ROs aren't routinely checking for barrel strikes and restoring the barrel after each shooter. I personally do not trust that barrel strikes will be consistently scored and restored at L1 matches. Soft cover barrels are a very useful tool to have as a supplement to good stage design. I don't think they should be the default, you can often make changes to a stage to avoid them, but we frequently have to use them when we are running low on walls or need to obscure something through the 180, and in those situations it is often better to just make them soft cover instead of messing around with stapling no-shoots to the sides.
  7. I have limited time shooting minor through mine, but my experience was that they ran minor very well and the mag feeding issues that were present with long 9 Major didn't seem to effect the short 9 minor ammo I had running round nose bullets. They are nose heavy guns but you can do some recoil spring tuning to reduce the impact of that.

    Czechmate zero?

Zero distance is always a tradeoff of where you want your sweet spot to be (say roughly Point of Impact = Point of Aim +/- 1in) vs how large you want that sweet spot to be/what targets you want it to cover. 9 Major trajectory is pretty flat out to 50yds so with your 17yd zero and the ~3in height over bore of the CMore you'd expect: -3in at point blank 0 at 17yds +3in at 34 yards +6in at 51yds (probably slightly less since around 50yds you start to get meaningful drop) Your +/- 1 inch sweet spot with a 17yd zero is ~11-23yds, so you'll have to remember to hold over/under outside that range. a 25yd zero would give you a sweet spot of ~16.5-33yds, so you'd need to remember to hold over for some technical closer targets (headshots, tight upper A-zone targets), but basically all longer-distance shots will fall within the sweet spot. I believe the longest distance on a classifier is 35yds and I'm not sure I've ever seen a longer shot than that in Major match. Switching to a lower mount and MRDS makes things a lot easier. With the CZC mount and MRDS of choice the bore offset is ~2in, so the sweet spot with a 20yd zero is 10-30yds

    Cz parrot parts?

Armory Craft is your best source for most of the colored bits. https://www.armorycraft.com/product-page/cz-75-aluminum-grips-short I don't know if anywhere sells new blue optic mounts, but I believe I have one in my spare parts bin. I'll DM you about that.
  10. Yes, any PVD coating. Cerakote is going to show wear very quickly.
  11. I actually really liked the 2MOA dot when I ran a 510c on one of my Czechmates. I ended up switching to Romeo 3XLs because they are a lot lighter and have a similar window size, but I prefer the actual dot on the 510c. I never used the 65 MOA circle on the 510c but the option to toggle an 8 MOA circle sounds like it would at least be worth experimenting with.
  12. Are the rails polished after the Cerakote? I'm curious if they are actually hand fitting or just relying on the coating to take out some slop on delivery and assuming most customers won't notice as it wears in. I'm a fan of cool concepts in the industry even if they seem silly at the onset, but it seems like a miss to me that they are not offering more performance driven coatings even if it'd stretch out their delivery timelines.
  13. Were there cheaper shipping options? It's 6300 krona, which is 284 USD at current exchange rate (they raised the price about $55 between v1 and v2 at current exchange) -- when I bought my v1s the cheapest shipping was 270 krona, ~$12.
  14. 9 Major is not a place for guess work, you need to run these rounds over a chronograph. When I did my initial testing with 124gr projectiles I was at 170PF with 7.9gr HS6 but was loading to 1.165"; I wouldn't be shocked if you're pushing 180PF with 8.1gr loading to 1.13. 10% plunk test failure says there is something wrong with your reloading process. You're probably not resizing the case enough or your crimp is set up wrong. With mixed range brass I'd expect 1-2% plunk test failure at the high end with a dialed reloading setup.
  15. I watched your video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c8Q0J3sC1MA Your cases are ejecting basically straight down which certainly suggests the cases are hitting the optic mount, as others have said. I'd shoot it without the optic mount and see if you can reproduce the issue. One of my two Czechmates was extremely tightly fit when I first got it and had a noticeable hitch at a specific point in the slide when hand cycling; I was able to correct that with careful hand polishing of the rails. If yours is similarly tight then that could also be a source of inconsistent feeding issues and compounded by any ammo and/or grip issues. I'd check the specs on your reloaded rounds as well to chase down any FTF issues.
  16. I agree with you. I think it was a bad idea for them to post this Question of the Month; they manufactured a problem for rules administration and certain matches will be scored inconsistently as a result. It seems like there is pretty solid consensus that before this folks would administer 1 procedural in this example. Now many ROs who have seen NROI's answer to this problem will enforce the NROI interpretation (perhaps reluctantly), and folks who haven't seen it will continue to issue a procedural. IMO they should have changed 10.2.2.1 and provided an explanation that it created potential for an interpretation of procedurals that conflicts with conventional wisdom/intention in particular Virginia Count applications.
  17. Okay, so "a few weeks" turned in to a year, but my little channel is very close to 500 subscribers and I used that as motivation to set aside some time to create this (plus TheHumbleMarksman getting ready to launch a Czechmate video). Similar to my 15k review video it is quite long, but I wanted it to be a comprehensive stand-alone source for the topic of CZ large frame mag tuning, so I tried to fit in all the relevant content and added chapters to the video so folks can easily bounce to the sections they are most interested in. I'm generally pretty responsive to comments on Youtube and also via DMs here, so if I missed something please let me know.
  18. Someone who works for CZ USA commented on the above video from their personal account and said "CZ-USA will not [warranty] any Czechmates with poppels or any other slide milling". They later deleted the comment, but I would assume any milling voids the warranty and you are reliant on CZ's good will if something goes wrong. Shooting reloads technically voids it as well but I've heard generally positive responses from folks who have crack slides in the past and gotten replacements free of charge.
  19. Yes. At the time of the video I only had one of the uppers milled; the testing convinced me it was worthwhile and I sent off the other upper shortly after and ordered a second titanium comp.
  20. I had CZC add popples to both of my CMs; I asked them to do two 3/16" holes because that's what Binary Engineering recommends based on his fluid dynamics analysis https://www.binaryeng.com/products/copy-of-cfd-titanium-compensator-2-port. The first is just before the comp cone and the second is through the cone (CZ photos on instragram: https://www.instagram.com/p/CaarNdsvctQ/). I lost roughly 5 power factor from the change. I made a video when I got the first one back and tested it along side and brass grips and Sebo titanium comp. My takeaway was the added weight and Ti comp make the dot movement a little easier to read but don't have a huge impact on vertical magnitude of dot movement; the popples reduce vertical magnitude but make the dot movement more violent/snappy. Grip has a far larger impact on dot movement than any of these mods.
  21. Sounds like you need to volunteer to help run your local club's matches. We have plenty of fun naming my club's L1 stages.
  22. I don't think so; he's posted photos of that same gun since at least March 2022. I'm fairly sure he just had the last port chopped off the factory comp and two popples added through the flats of the comp, plus the IPSC Alex double sided mount. If not then... prepare to be underwhelmed by #CZInovation yet again! https://www.instagram.com/p/Ca-KnRasx6o/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link
  23. @Mondayshooter40 the Dan Wesson SSC .40s are made specifically for CZ Custom and they have them in stock currently. https://czcustom.com/dw-ss-custom-cal-40-s-w.html I have one sitting in WA pistol purchase waiting period purgatory at the moment. Figured I'd get one while they are still available.
  24. No, I switched to Romeo 3XLs. The height and width of the lens is almost identical to the 510c and it is much lighter and sits lower. The lens on the 510c is more rectangular so the total lens area is smaller on the XL but it's out at the corners so it's not really noticeable. It's still a good optic and much cheaper than the R3XL, but I've never been tempted to switch back.

    TS2 trigger reset?

    1) They should check and make sure that they didn't accidentally get loctite or grease or anything in the trigger mechanism. I did that when adjusting the overtravel screw on one of my Czechmates and the trigger reset was super slow and soft but after cleaning it up it was okay. 2) Switching to a heavier hammer spring can make a minor improvement in the trigger feel. More so for the firmness of the wall, but also a little bit for reset.
