  1. Thanks to everyone that commented. Great info that gives me a plan moving forward. I'm a designer by trade (who appreciates info graphics, data, etc.). I made it from scratch - used Adobe Illustrator. It's where I spend most of my time. Thanks for commenting and appreciating it.
  2. Good to know. TY. Care to share any details of what you're getting out of them? Gun? OAL? FPS? PF?
  3. OK. I thought that was the case but just wanted to make sure. Appreciate the jab/joke. Keep it up!
  4. Everything is Dillon. Have not ventured into other dies yet...
  5. Distilled Water? No thanks. That seems an even worse hassle than pins. At least I've gotten a process down with those. I'll stick with the pins for now.
  6. Curious about this comment. Are you not a fan of TG? I've read comments about ppl suggesting its easy to double charge. I have the powder check installed on my 650 too. Please clarify if you don't mind...
  7. Exactly. Just a rookie being a rookie I suppose.
  8. Thank you both. I'm not a fan of the look that's for sure. I love this forum. Read the thread MM shared which lead me to one from 2017 which then lead me to one from 2014. All filled with useful info. Thanks again!
  9. How can I prevent this? Everything I have loaded to date has been 115 or 124 FMJ RN. I have seen a somewhat slight taper in on the mid-section of my fully loaded rounds. Never saw this before - I loaded about 30 as a test to Chrono. I shot about half and the fps seemed fine. Hell, they were accurate too. I also performed the plunk test (on some) and used a case gauge on every round. 9mm 3.3 gr. Titegroup FC Brass 1.070 OAL 147 gr. FMJ FN
  10. I'm shooting USPSA and Steel Challenge. Not into Bullseye - at least not yet. Makes total sense. Thank you. Thanks for the info HT - I have definitely been "over thinking" it. I agree 100 with the above too.
  11. I live in northern KY, right below Cincinnati and my current garage would be a miserable place to reload. Now if I ever get that climate controlled pole barn I'll move everything out to it.
  12. Since I just bought 147 gr. FMJ FN bullets from RMR I thought I'd do some random pulls and check weight. I pulled over 100 and had some variance (see image). I'm wondering what is an acceptable range? Should I be doing this more often with all bullets? Let me know what your procedures are when starting with a new bullet/weight. Thanks
  13. I vaguely remember reading that. Probably when I got my scale. I'll look back at the manual to confirm. Thanks for the tip. I'll keep the the cover on moving forward.
  14. That's a really good point that I hadn't considered when getting this sample. Everything I have done to date has been FC and there's definitely some case length variation on them.
  15. I have a Hornady Lock-N-Load scale and have been using it for a couple of years now but I recently noticed something weird while using it... I dump gunpowder into the metal powder pan while dialing my machine in but I get a different reading/amount if I have the plastic cover on. It weighs more if I take the cover off. Has anyone else noticed this? Am I doing it wrong? Should I keep it off. I was startled to see the grains jump by .2 or .3 when I took it off. I typically keep the cover on - it has a hole in the middle so I just dump the powder from a brass case down inside it to the pan. I feel like I'm less likely to make a mess with the cover plastic cover on as it would prevent powder from flying everywhere. Thanks in advance.
  16. Thanks for all the replies. I had just left for vacation when all the responses starting coming in. I was able to take a couple of quick photos but they were blurry and then I was gone. I took a couple more today. I know this sounds crazy but it seems like its expanded even further than I remember... I was thinking it would be barely noticeable. But these photos are saying something completely different IMO. Regardless. Let me know what you all think. Thanks again.
  17. I am wet tumbling. Didn't realize there were any negatives associated with cleaning that way other than dealing with the stainless steel pins... I hate to say this too but I struggle with specifications on the crimp. If I remember correctly the Dillon manual only showed a visual reference of proper crimp and a mention that the bullet should feel tight in the case. Please correct me if I am off-base.
  18. This is great info! I'm running both a gen 5 17 & 34 and just ordered some rmr 147gn fmj fp's. I'm hoping for something that mimics the Federal Syntech 150's. Thanks again for the information. Looking forward to get these through the chrono too.
  19. I'll get a photo up ASAP but's it all 9mm once fired FC brass - I've been saving my brass for over a year and have it separated by headstamp since I am still pretty new to reloading pistol/rifle.
  20. And is this normal? My loaded cartridge bin always has a ton of it after loading a few hundred. If it's not normal what can I do to fix it? Thanks in advance.
  21. Wow. That's a lot longer than I thought they are. Thanks for sharing! One last question: Do you have the roller handle installed?
  22. Initial impression is these look great. I had not heard about them before so thank you for sharing. I need to dig a little deeper and see what kind of material they are. Would like it to be as light as possible similar to a parachute.
  23. That's awesome. Look forward to seeing it. I'm using the strong mount so I assume the ultra mount is similar in height/size.
  24. I actually chatted with them not long after posting this. They said it would cover most of it. Based on what they told me I feel like the Dillon 650 cover would be about the same as my 366 cover I have on it now - stopping just short of the bullet tray and not covering it. Is that what yours does? That grill cover seems like its worth a shot. Hah! Good find!
