IPDA ESP Alien
Cobbled together some parts for an ESP IDPA build to try and match bump and get some trigger time with irons.
I have to test recoil springs (which will likely be different than the optic mounted slides).
I also have to massage the slide stop to auto forward.
I can also use it for SCSA limited.
Glad I found this thread. Been wondering for a while if the Alien would fit for ESP/CO.
Can you measure your Alien LO without the magwell and see if it fits the box? I’m looking to get one for USPSA LO and IDPA CO but I’m not sure if it would be legal

I made MA in CO last November from a match bump. Currently working on CCP. Hopefully get it some time in the next few months.
I'm A in USPSA CO, and M in limited

It’s official: production capacity will be going to 15 rounds on Jan 31, 2024

This is probably more of a general revo question, but how low can you get the pull weight on these and still shoot factory ammo?

A new rule that specifically allows the Enigma holster and circumvents the belt loop requirement.
Where did you see this? From what I'm reading, the 8.4 rule is still intact

I lived on university campus for 4 years with little access to real guns. Airsoft replicas, SRT, and other tools will keep vision, grip, etc. Gun handling from a rig comes back quick when back stateside. CS
I hear that this guy did pretty well with this setup
The OP should listen to this advice

Lots of good ideas in this thread. I currently use the 5020/A5/Orange spring combo that seems quite popular, but I’m not quite getting the same results that others are. I’m going to try messing with some other springs and see what happens

Humble Marksman really likes it

I went with the Hunters HD Gold prescription lenses. The clarity is AWESOME and the light transmission is really something you have to see to believe

Just to make sure I understand: You are using the TTI 2011 follower in a PPQ mag?
Could you describe the modifications you made?
Thanks.
Right. I followed the method described by @MemphisMechanic in this thread:
All I did was take some Grams 2011 springs, remove the follower, put on the TTI SVI +1 follower on the spring, file a few mm off each end to fit the tube, and went with that. Zero malfs so far
-
Holy crap, how can you NOT get this??
-
I think I figured out a solution: grams springs with TTI ultra thin 2011 followers (shaved down a few mm) seem to work perfectly. They get 23 in the tube with a little bit of wiggle room on top so you can confidently load them

It's....real? Holy crap, it's really real!

I recently completed a build with a QC10 side charging upper, QC10 lower, blah blah very cool. Unfortunately I didn't realize that the coda handguard that I got made it kind of hard to access the relatively slim charging handle. Here's what it looks like
Now, I've read that Gibbz manufactures these uppers for QC10. Does anyone know if Gibbz charging handles will work with them? I emailed QC10 but they haven't gotten back to me yet.

$800 for a steel framed Rival is going to be hard to beat. I currently shoot a Walther Q4 SF and I’m taking sideways glances at this thing

Good news is they are cheap! Just buy a steel frame as the main gun and keep the other as your backup gun.
I did actually. They really seem to be doing a very good job listening to the market/Nils. I have been thinking since I got my rival if it was only heavier it it would be damn near perfect. Just gotta get this light strike thing under control.
It's interesting that they're taking this direction because Canik's value proposition for a long time has been putting out a good optics-ready polymer pistol at a fantastic value. A "premium" version of the same pistol with a steel grip is kind of outside their wheelhouse.

-
Interesting! I didn’t expect Canik to be the next company to put out a steel frame pistol

The ZR Tactical guide rods use G17 recoil springs and they can be a real pain to install. Has anyone tried using G19-sized springs?

Anybody found bigger magazines or extensions that work ? would love at least +5 when shooting open with it
There’s a guy on the Alien Owners FB group who is working on a 170mm mag prototype. He’s making progress, but as it stands the mag only holds 25+1
-
So it sounds like the gun did, in fact, matter
-
Well this thread sure is timely. I’m looking to have a new open gun built. @jbauman915 what do your lead times currently look like?

SIG Rumor Central has it that there will soon be a plain upper on the longer butt.
I’d throw down for one of those

I’ll be shooting the VA State championship next week. My first IDPA major! I’m mostly a USPSA guy but I’ve come to appreciate IDPA in the past few months. It should be a good time

Much appreciated! So it looks like it would work if I removed the thumb rest and substituted the normal creator magwell, as well as using original alien mags. Does that sound about right? Is the Creator magwell sold anywhere? I can only find the original Alien magwell, which apparently doesn’t work with the Creator.
Thanks for indulging my dumb questions!
