I personally prefer STI Gen 2’s with TTI basepads and grams guts/follower. They hold 21, 20 reloadable. They run reliable and that combination costs me about $20 less than MBX’s

Speaking of, I host a charity 2 gun match that benefits Special Youth Challenge and the Clay Co 4H Shooting Sports Chapter the last Saturday of every July. You should come. Its just north of Sioux Rapids off of HWY 71.

Common trend in Ankeny this week! I caught my first DQ last week out there as well. Got stuck in trigger guard and sent one over the birm reloading trying to go fast. Made some changes in dryfire and I think I have it cleaned up.

) Like others said, you handled it well. It’s all you can do - Own it and move on..learn from it. I hope you can get down and shoot with us again soon!

At a bare minimum, I think it’s important to have some spare parts fitted and ready to go. I learned this the hard way on Tuesday. Broke an extractor in the middle of a club match that was actually going really well.

I apologize if this has been discussed elsewhere- But what I’m really looking for a list of optics that work on the included optics plates with the Q5 match.

Are the plates included, but I’ve read of guys using various Vortex models, and that Burris FFIII works on the Docter Plate. Can anyone help me out here? Does such a list exist and I’m just blind? Thanks in advance.

The TTI regular follower is just a tiny bit thinner then grams allowing for 21rds.
I cant get 21 wirh my mbx 140s btw. But theye great mags. But none of my sti 40 mags needed any tuning with the body or feedlips. They’ve been 100% flawless. I’d stick with them for 40 Over mbx just cause they’re cheaper. For 9 the mbx are nice. As are the sti but mine needed some tweaking. Pretty easy to do though.
This. I have 2 MBX’s and 2 STI gen 2’s with TTI basepads and grams guts/followers. I can get 21 in one of the STI’s.. 20 in the other. They run like a champ. Unfortunately I didn’t get any STI magazines on sale, so the ended up costing about the same as my MBX’s.
One thing I will say, is with TTI a basepads, the magazines are a lot easier and faster to tear apart and clean at matches. (And in general). I learned that the hard way this weekend at the Ozarks classic.

It’s for her. I’ll probably get curious and dabble in C/O with it at a club match or two at some
point but I shoot limited/SSTK and do not plan on changing platforms permanently. I was more curious if there was a better “bang for my buck” than another 320. I don’t have a problem buying something nice, I just know she isn’t likely to shoot a ton either way and a wading through options.

So my wife and I have settled on a pistol with a red dot to get her introduced to the sport. I'm looking at polymer striker guns that are already milled for a red dot, or already have a red dot mounted.
Really just looking for some why/why not on the listed pistols below, or any other budget friendly suggestions I'm missing. My wife loved my P320 FS I had previously. I'm a firm believer in buy once, cry once on this, within reason.
Options I'm considering:
P320 RX
Walther Q5 (dot option unknown at this point) - This is my personal preference at this point, but I'm open to suggestions.
Canik Tp9SFX w/ Vortex Viper - *$635 price point is really appealing*
EDIT: It should be noted that this gun is almost guaranteed to not be beat on.. Maybe a couple thousand rounds per year unless I switch from limited. -

Unrelated to your parts question, but I’m curious, how did that gun run for you? I’m considering buying one for my wife with a dot already on it to get her into the sport with me. Price is right, and I’ve read a ton of good on it, but I’m a firm believer in buy once, cry once, so I’ll gladly shell out for a Q5 if the TP9sfx doesn’t perform as advertised.

I picked up an early edge for cheap (CM44xx) serial, and it still runs like a champ. Just had it tuned with some new parts + extreme engineering ignition kit, and it may get a new barrel soon, but it’s been great for me thus far. I say go for it.
I heard that model is being discontinued but haven’t had a chance to dig into it. Someone else may have more info on that.

I generally pick up donuts or other sugar loaded garbage. You could say my diet is going extremely well. Shoulda started on the summer body before summer
But honestly I’m not as active in the gym as I used to be. I work a physical job where I’m always moving (Electrician) and that keeps me
in pretty decent shape as long as my diet isn’t completely off the rails.
