  1. Figured I would update this as I have some good info now. I also have a A01LD amd when I sent it to CZ Customs to have them direct mill it for an FTP Alpha 3 I asked if they could get is as far back on the slide as possible. Fast forward to the other day and I was taking everything apart to send out for DLC coating and found that it also has the little half moon hole in the back of the slide like my stock 2 does. Both have been shot a good bit since the milling was done and no issues at all.

  2. Well I changed it up slightly. Thought I had some SNS 147s.... I don't. I have 135s and 124s. I did happen to have a box of brass monkey 147s though. So I loaded 15 at 3.0gn amd 15 a 3.2gn. I will say I've never used a powder that was like little tiny balls before and it loads quite well.

  3. Currently I'm loading 9 minor for .30c a round. .07c of that is for prepped once fired brass that's cleaned, rollsized, deprimed and head stamp sorted. I'm ok with that. I do it so I can tailor a load to my guns. Although I may snag up some factory ammo anyways just to save time switching between 9 minor and 9 major.

I know my 40cal 2011's really hated short loads - causing all kinds of feeding problems.. pushed my 200gr bb out to 1.185 and all problems solved.
backing this logic into the current discussion - if your 9mm feeds short oal, there is no need to risk reaming the chamber.

That said - I was shocked at how short I had to load for a few of my CZs for brass monkey 127gr.

Isn't really any risk involved so ling as someone who knows how to do it does it.

As for why I want to have it done. My normal load OAL for 9 minor is 1.130 with an SNS 135GN bullet. Runs 100% is my tanfo Stock 2 and CZ A01LD. I'd like to be able to only have one minor and one major load as it's tedious to reset the RL1100. Although thus could be a good reason to get another one......

I have not heard of anyone that had the barrel reamed yet. I am sure in time you will be able to get an aftermarket barrel with a longer throat if you like. To your point, the throat is shorter than any pistol I have ever reloaded for. I pulled the OAL back to 1.10 and just ran with that to avoid any headache. No problems after that.

That's what I'm going to do for now. I was going through my stash of bullets last night and found a 1000ct box of brass monkey 147s so I figured why not just figure out what OAL will work with this barrel and do a new load. I've been wanting to try out cleanshot powder anyways as well.

Powder Valley has/had Servicios Aventuras SP primers. I bought some last night to try.

I bought a case of 5000 which were delivered on Friday, loaded 100 9mm and shot them today...no issues at all. Every one of them went bang on the first hit.

I shot them out of a BUL TAC 4.25 with a bone stock trigger.  I would say they are a good buy.

Thanks for following up! I'm about to cash in on a case or 3.

  7. I've seen primers at a few places near me.

As for shooting factory ammo vs my reloads for minor..... all the factory ammo I find that isn't trash can ammo is .40c a round. I've been reloading since the beginning of 2020 and have yet to load 9 minor for more then .30c a round. My average has been .22c a round.

  8. All I can say is dang. Just picked my rival up uesterday and the trigger is awesome. I don't see any need to change it at all. Already ordered talon grips, extra mag, base pads, TF brass back strap, amd tungsten guide rod for it. This thing is gonna be fun to shoot.

  9. Well as the title says I'm getting ready to figure out a 9 minor load for 147s and clean shot powder. OAL is 1.100". Never used clean shot and haven't used 147s in a long time. Anyone have some good starting points? Looking for about a 130pf.

Did you have to use the die lock rings on the bottom of the toolhead?  Or did they work in the normal, on top position?

    :)

They are on top like normal. But right at the very top of the threads. Never had any issues though. I'm not really convinced a micrometer is needed for the crimp die as I've never messed with it after setting it up the first time. For the seating die it's awesome though. Makes going from my 1.170 open load to my 1.130 minor load easy.
