Slide stops has been mentioned... CZ owners in general seem to keep a spare slide stop or two. One approach that I've seen is: a used one for practice, an almost new one for matches, and one as the actual spare.
A member of the club was preparing for the European Championship and since he had a bad experience with a Shadow 2 that cracked, he bought 2 more. One was for training and the other for competitions. A week before the championship I checked his pistols and they both had cracks. where one with 15k and the other with 2k only .

Hope they didnt use too many soda cans in later casting batches. More Skodas may actually be fine
Do not count on it .

Yeah I've seen a few friends have slides break at the spring box on older SP01 Shadows, not the tactical if memory serves, just the regular Shadows. Spring box would detach from the bottom of the slide and then recoil rod would take off. CZ always replaced the slide. If I remember right, none were super high round count guns, they were all fairly new and CZ identified the issue from specific batches of casting. Probably too many Pepsi cans in that batch or Ladas or something.
I've seen two newer Shadow 2s break (maybe 3 even) at the breach face, breaks were near identical, and those slides were also replaced by CZ (this was a couple years ago). No idea what the issue was there or round counts on those guns.
Between all my CZs I'm at about 1.25 million rounds through them all, with a couple guns over 200k (old Shadows). All I've ever broken are slide stops and TRS and firing pin springs. Plus a couple front sights.
How did you forget sk. ?You had no problems because they built them for you from your old Volvo.

probably 13 is not your lucky number.

Ammo is almost all handloaded, for Production/Optics 135PF 147gr bullets and for Open 124 and 147 at major PF.
I've examined guns at the factory that were tested with and without buffers over extended firing cycles, tens of thousands of rounds and seen the fractures that develop, in slides and in frames.
Shooting is done indoor and outdoor all year long.
how many rounds TSO and SH1/2 slides hold with buffer and without until they crack?
ours club use only factory 115g ammo.

The eeman extractor is more expensive by about $40(?) than aftec. So Im gonna use egw HD after my aftec gives up.
Does it also fit Glocks?

4k for gun from aliexpress ?
but if u like it and $$$$ no problem why not.

I prefer extractor original design from1911 . It is easy to tune and there is no problem removing it for cleaning and it lasts a long time.

By the same logic, if the gun is built and tuned correctly, you won't need a buffer.
I will not use them, tried and failed.
Do what is good for you. No one is forcing you to use them

for every 'smith that uses them, there is one that doesn't.
If 1911 /2011 gun is built and tuned correctly, there is no problem with using a buffer. I personally recommend using them and replacing them when they wear out.

Have fun with the new toy
Expect a review after 50 thousand with HPS and not like the previous review of 7500 with old gun -

See if you can find an STI Edge.
Awesome pistols.... and should be around USD 1.500,- I believe.
Great guns from a time STI still had quality products (in my humble opinion)
I absolutely love mine. Bought it six months ago and it runs flawlessly..................
............
I agree with you. I recently tested 3 STI guns, one shot about 200K and 2 others about 100K. Only one of them had a crack in the frame( 100K) , something that can be easily repaired. all of them shoot 9mm factory ammo.
Some of the pistols from the same category of other companies, which I tested after 15K looked much worse than STI, that shot 200 K

I’m pretty sure Bul has their own proprietary grip and mags. So doubtful it would work.
Their mag release is different from STI.

I don't understand the design considerations when they made a V-groove along the slide and especially in the area of the ejection port opening.
other than that the gun looks nice.

Yep. But small mm bits normally have to be ordered. A proper drill press and vise is needed to make nice holes.
it's clear.
Simple when you have a bench lathe and also bench mill most of these jobs are simple.

There's the key. Hardened metal requires more than high speed steel bits to cut properly.
It may be easier to get the bits than TF parts.
carbide drills.

I fitted a CZ extractor to my old small frame Tanfo. Main issue was to drill the pin hole larger. It was difficult due to the hard material. Otherwise not difficult at all. Needed to take some material off to avoid contact with the barrel. I assume the 9 mm extractor is the same for small and large frame Tanfos.
You just need to increase the extractor hole from 2 mm to 2.5 mm with appropriate equipment and make minor adjustments. It works but I avoid doing such things only when there is no choice. I only did it once.

I can't speak to why BUL would think a 13lb main spring would be reliable in a 1911/2011 style production pistol which would be exposed to a wide range of ammo and varied primer hardness's. Sounds like a dumb idea to me but what do I know.
I got mine with a chopped main spring. I replaced it with a 15lb spring.

I also liked this gun. And I know it's made of good metal. and is an excellent basis for improvements.
Regarding Turkish products, I personally would not touch them. I remember Toyota cars, which were assembled in Turkey and would fall apart on the road within a year. -

Does anyone know if DW will sell replacement frames? I accidentally dropped mine from about 4ft and the beaver tail is now bent... lol
According to the experiment you did, it failed the 4-ft test
So I no longer want to buy this type of gun.
High-Round count CZ SP01 (Non-shadow)?

The early models were made of good steel, probably spring steel, and it was very difficult to drill into the frame, slide stop was always a casting . If they had made the slide stop like Tenfoglio it would have held much longer.
