  1. I was able to get a good deal on a Magnetospeed V3, but now I'm running into a few sensitivity issues on it. On my girlfriend's Glock 34, runs fine. My M&P Pro, since the rail is offset more from the barrel, I have to crank the sensitivity up and it'll sometimes read insane data (like 4k fps when I'm running around 900). Then I try it on my AR, a mostly stock BCM, and it can't fit right to get a reading. I'll have to reach out to them to see what options I have.
  2. I was using LAXAmmo reloads and they were really good. Only using past tense as I'm starting to reload now. Real inexpensive and never had a single issue. I buy my mags from a place called Quantico tactical. I believe they ship and they're the least expensive I've seen, I think 3 for 72 or some such.
  3. Do you run into any issues not being able to be far enough back from the chrono?
  4. This is brilliant. Any experience on it?
  5. I'm traveling so I can't answer your diameter question, but my girlfriend has a red on her Glock, I've got a green on my m&p. I think the green is easier to pick up across various lighting conditions and seems to just show up better, at least in my shooting glasses. -DJ
  6. The only range I can consistently access is my local indoor (I'm stuck living in a city for now) and I'm looking to do load development. Is there a chrono that I can shoot through from almost no distance that will work indoors? I'm guessing it doesn't exist, but figured it doesn't hurt to ask. -DJ
  7. If you keep an eye on Amazon daily deals, they've had 4K ones with full kit under $50 with some regularity
  8. Fantastic write up, thanks for the info. Does TMJ bridge this gap a bit, since it'll cover at least #3 and maybe #2?
  9. Out of curiosity, why go the JHP route? Sorry if it's a noob question, just looking for info.
  10. I'm guessing PD == Precision Delta? Is there anywhere to grab them other than their site? What powder do you recommend with them?
  11. Thanks for the info, Jack. I don't have a chrono, so I just loaded up about 50 at 4.2gr, 50 at 4.7 and 50 at 5.2 (the range provided was 4.2 - 5.5). I have to try it through both my gun and my girlfriends to see if either like any of this setup. I see Midway has a sale on Hornady bullets, about 11c a round. Anyone have anything bad to say about those guys?
  12. Kind of hijacking my own thread here, but have a follow up. I have most of my setup, been slowly working through the process. How many rounds does it take to effectively understand a load? That is to ask if I have 200 rounds, should I try 4 sets of 50 rounds, each set having a mildly different amount of powder, all within the acceptable range provided? For example, if it says 4.5-5.4grains, should I do 50 at 4.5, 4.8, 5.0 and 5.2 or some other arbitrary setup? I'm using Unique powder with 124 grain Rainier bullets and Winchester primers. Also suggestions on more "match grade" stuff would be greatly appreciated, I figured this was just to get me started.
  13. I order from LAXammo all the time. Multiple thousands of rounds of theirs through my 223, 9 and 45s. I used freedom for a while but their quality control doesn't seem to be tight. I had some freedom that worked flawlessly that I had a whole shipment that was trash. LAX seems to be a good mix of inexpensive but good quality.
  14. Awesome, measurements definitely help. Thanks for the input, much appreciated
  15. It did indeed work. Does it fold up pretty well for storage and all?
  16. Fantastic, I appreciate the input
  17. Thanks for that input. Do you have a small cabinet or something that you use to keep all the other components in? Do you have your powder rig set up on this as well?
  18. I don't have a bar, I was looking to make some space on a work desk but that doesn't seem to be in the cards. For reference, the specific table I was looking at is this: http://www.cabelas.com/product/FRANKFORD-ARSENAL-PLATINUM-SERIES-RELOADING-STAND/1794270.uts?productVariantId=3819003&WT.tsrc=PPC&WT.mc_id=GoogleProductAds&WT.z_mc_id1=03854491&rid=20&gclid=CjwKCAjw1ufKBRBYEiwAPI_r4Z4OYUbUYfY1bN7sDc62a6p9498DoqvGrmeVV1OsF7O6sW868HuaMRoC5PAQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
  19. Hey all. I've been collecting brass for a while, and have about 3,000 9mm casings I'm looking to reload. I don't have much room at all, so I was considering one of the folding tables for the sake of space. My dad has an old RCBS reloader he's going to hand down, so I'm planning on using that. Anyone have experience with the folding table or the RCBS reloader? I shoot production/limited class uspsa and some 3gun, so I'm looking to load specifically for that out of my M&P pro 5" with no ports. Sorry if any of these are dumb questions, just trying to learn my way around. -DJ
  20. http://www.dryfiremag.com/shop/ They say they'll be making one for the M&P, so here's to hoping. -DJ
  21. It looks like it has some sort of spring mechanism that causes the trigger to reset. It doesn't seem like it would be that hard to mimick, just not 100% on the details. -DJ
  22. Hey all, My girlfriend shoots Glock, but I'm much more of an M&P fan, so I stick to my 9mm M&P pro. That being said, it seems like all the cool accessories are made for Glock. I've seen something called a "dry fire mag" for Glock that essentially resets the trigger after pulling it so you can more effectively practice dry fire. Does anyone know of a similar product for the M&P lineup, it have ideas of a way to Frankenstein a mag to do something like that? -DJ
