I have been getting nose dives in a new 1911 I purchased recently.  I was able to run FMJ bullets in the gun, but JHP's would nose dive.  I purchase two of these magazines to try out and I am still having issues with nose dives with JHP bullets.  They have not helped me with this issue.

Polish the feed ramp on the barrel.

  2. I have also since swapped from RMR to Vortex Viper red dot.

Why did you change to the Vortex? I took my RMR off because I just could not get used to the RMR’s red dot and the size of the glass.

Is the Vortex an improvement over the RMR?

Almost a super senior,  discussion with another senior shooter.

"Wow, that last stage felt really fast, good movement, quick double taps,... until I looked at the video."

    I quit videoing my stages.

Sadly exactly what happened to me today. ?

  4. Is your state a 10 round magazine? I've had nothing but problems with the full-size 10 round magazines in both my M&P's and PCC when I put 10 rounds in them.  Work fine with only 9 rounds. If your not restricted, get the bigger mags and only load them to 10 rounds.

While I don't have extensive experience with either, I do have both the 5" S&W with the Apex competition trigger kit, and an X5. Long story short, I liked the S&W until it had issues involving the Apex trigger in the middle of a match. It's up and running again, but I lost confidence in it, and that's why I got the X5. So far I'm tickled with the X5, and have no plans on going back to the S&W M&P.

What issue did you have with the Apex trigger?

  6. I have the Nordic Components PCC with the M&P magwells. Reason is the amount of M&P magazines I have. I am planning of getting the Glock magwell for when I go to other states that allow higher capacity or unlimited amount of rounds and cannot find those in the M&P mags (my state only allows Max 15 rounds).

Either one you decide to go with you won’t have any issues. Nordic is coming out with more magwell options.

I'm considering the Nordic, and I have a few questions:

    1) In every review video I've watched, the gun "sings" when the bolt is dropped or locked- what's doing that?

    2) Does the forward assist function with that carrier?

    3) Any issues?

    1. Only used it so far on Steel Challenge so the only singing I've heard is from the steel plates.  Doing a USPSA match tomorrow and I'll pay attention and repost what I hear.

    2. Forward assist has no function. No FA serrations on the bolt.

    3. No issues.  Heavy trigger pull (6+ lbs) so I changed mine for a Hiperfire 24-3G that has a 2.12 lbs trigger pull.  Also added a Holosun 510C sight. It is a great rifle. Less than 1,000 rounds with no issues.

After today's match, several shooters asked to shoot it.  Using their own custom pistol loads they had no issues and liked how balanced and light the Nordic felt. Bought mine with the M&P magwell.

    Hope this helps.

  8. LE has magazine safety. Won't shoot if magazine is out. Without the magazine the trigger bar moves inwards and the trigger bar is out of place. Once the magazine is inserted, the trigger bar moves back against the frame.  Easy to remove and all you need is a portion of an ink pen spring or call S&W and they'll send you the correct part to make it non-LE.

I believe the trigger is also heavier, but not sure.

Cool. I was noticing in the carver it seems to have a noticeable ledge on the sides. I'm not sure if a magazine would hit it or if it just looks worse then it really is.

I haven't noticed the lip interfering with the mag loading, but this is my first magwell.  When practice loading the magazines, they hit the angled sides and go straight into the mag hole.

Maybe someone will comment that has tried both SSS and Carver.
