You can make the Shadow 2 IDPA legal in CO. I had my Shadow 2's slide milled and changed the grips to Henning grips and the magazines with the plastic base pad. Total weight is 44.5 ounces. Trying to get a polymer guide rod to bring the weight further down.

Does anybody else get a tuning fork sound when they run the slide or shoot a live round?  I thought maybe it was jsut me but today at the range one of the other guys shooting could hear it also.  I ran it several times checking different parts of the pistol to see if I could get the ring to stop after running the slide.  The only way I could get it to stop was touching the hammer.  As soon as it did the ring would stop.  The hammer is not loose in anyway I could tell no back and forth,  The only part that has any back and forth (left and right) is the beaver tail and that should not ring with a firing grip.  I am thinking maybe the 3rd leg on the sear spring?

Its normal.  I have the same hammer on other 1911's and makes the same 'tuning fork' sound.

The flat safety is not working for me. On the wait list for a left side extended safety. Are these showing up at all in the US or have they been completely unavailable.

I ordered mine from Eric Graffel’s store in France.

...but I’m debating doing the full cajun gun works package minus the extended firing pin or just a flat trigger and short reset disconnect.

Thoughts? From what I can tell the extended firing pin is the only thing they don’t recommend for a carry gun. If I don’t go lighter than the 13# main spring reliability should be fine correct?

I installed the CGW Pro package with the 11.5lbs main spring and the CGW flat trigger on my S2C after about 100 rounds. It now has over 1k rounds of 115gr, 124gr and 147gr. I carry it with Underwood Defense ammo. I’ve used it in IDPA and Steel Challenge but haven’t shot it yet in USPSA.

It’s been very reliable and haven’t had a FTF/FTE. I carry it in decock position.

  5. This is what I ordered to mount my SRO to my S2 Orange with the CZC plate.  Not sure if it will work on the S2 OR. These screws are trimmed shorter.

  6. I have both the SP01 Shadow and the Shadow 2 but I prefer the SP01.

Locally we have a USPSA shooter that uses exclusively the SP01 and has achieved GM in CO and many other divisions shooting his SP01, while we have another GM that shoots a Shadow 2.

Unfortunately you don't have that choice. The SP01 with LOK brass grips and CGW guts is a great competition gun.
