  1. Yea, had same thing with mine. I just shoved a mag in and applied a little heat, not to much just enough to get the plastic to reshape a little. I used a lighter and just work over the areas that were tight near the bottom of the mag. Would be slower but safer if you used a hair dryer through.

  2. Like most have said holsters are a personal choice and the DOH, Blackhawk CQC, and Kydex are all good holsters and do not need special belts. If you will be trying out USPSA and IDPA select a holster that will be within the rules for both sports with the type of hand gun you have which the above do. You will not be able to use the 007 for IDPA or some divisions in USPSA.

I would not spend a lot of money at this point untill you decide which game will do most and even if you will stay with the same gun. Shoot what you have and build equipment as you go.

There are few USPSA/IDPA within a hour or so of you location. The York Club hosts one of the best matches of the summer in July.

    Enjoy website and have fun.

  3. As with any "scope" type of sighting device there is a limited amount of vertical and horzointal adjustment. I mounted a J-point on a gun for someone and did not have enough vertical adjustment. I just purchased 1 Deg angle Shims from Brownells, installed one and problem solved. Also with these sight you move the dot toward the impact location with is backwards from standard Iron sights.

  4. Hey, I heard Winchester uses mostly Hodgdon powders... weird huh. Call Winchester and ask them, they won't tell you what Hodgdon powder. I thought they would use 231 as well.

Winchester no longer manufactures gunpowder. Winchester signed a license agreement with Hodgdon to produce, package, and distribute their brands in late 2005 early 2006.

  5. Have you chronoed the 4756 loads? I needed a lot more than 8.3 to make Major in Super.

In the 9x25, it took 17 grains of H110, but the cases were clean and shiny on the inside.

Shred this it what I chrono at with 4756.

  6. Do not own a Kimber II but do own a Gold match. Never had a failure to feed issues that were caused by the gun. All failure to feed issues usually come down to the Bullets or Mags. Factory ammo has always worked. What is the overall length of the bullets?? To short or to long and you will have issues with feeding.

Have you checked reloaded ammo with a case gauge? If it will not fit gauge will not work in the gun.

  7. I didn't want to hijack hk mrbr's thread but wanted to ask if a 9mm Edge could be used to shoot production, or does the magwell make it illegal?

    Thanks

No!! Single action is not allowed in Production, only Double action or Safe action (Glock) pistols may be used for production.

  8. I used lock tight to instal my magazine catch or release button on the drilled and tapped end. I must of used too much because it's stiff to activate and I cannot unscrew the mag catch assembly from the frame. Are there any cures out there. Besides drilling it out.

    This is a 1911

and subject regarding Extended mag release

What type of lock-tite. You should have only used the Purple color stuff (Small thread locker). If you used any other type use heat to soften adhesvie bond and remove screw.

  9. Ok Folks, I personally think that there has been enough bashing and mud slinging going on from the beginning. FROM BOTH SIDES!

Many of you Starting bashing me and my club for how they perceived we treated new shooters without any knowledge of the situation. I told my side of the story, for what it was worth, with back up from some of those that were there. Then a few started bashing the Warpusher. What impression have we provided to any that may have followed the original post back to our forum?

Many Enos members showed great concern and posted on the other forum encouraging Warpusher to return or find another club, which I applaud.

I did not reply to Warpushers post simply because no mater what I said or did would change his mind; It was made before he ever showed up for our match.

Could we do a better job introducing new shooters to the sport at our club? Why Yes! But there are many that show up on a regular basis that started out as new shooters at our club. Fullrace, Micah, Bobert, and many others are an example.

We simply cannot satisfy everybody all the time, and no club can claim to do so, we can only make the effort.

    1. There are some A-holes running matches anywhere in the US

    2. There has always been someone complaining about IPSC ever since I’ve been in it.

  10. Now for the other side of the story.

This must be the guy showed at our Club match , MBSC in Dayton Oh, about 2 months ago. I do not recall anyone making fun of him due to the pistol he was using or whatever accusations he has leveled.

I was acting match director, as Paul was out of town working some area match, and several regular shooters notified me that there was a guy with a shoulder holster. I went and found the person and told him (nicely) that per USPSA rules he could not use a shoulder holster. He then got all defensive stating; "I read the rules on the internet last night and it states that I can use my duty holster since I am military." I said "Yes, you can use a duty rig, but, USPSA rules specifically prohibit use of shoulder holsters for safety reasons." His response, "You mean that even through I used this while “in country” you do not consider this a duty rig." Again, I responded with "That is not the issue with not allowing you to use a shoulder holster and restated the rules." Several times during this conversation, I offered to round up a Holster for him, which I did when all was said and done.

As for the Production Gun issue, I told him that USPSA rules limit round count in production division to 10 rounds, and that if you wanted to load 15 in his mags he would have to shoot in the limited division. Again, I was nice and explained the rules. I never said that an M9 was junk or said that it was not a production Gun. Heck, we have several regulars that use M9's.

I think that he was on a squad with Bobert, Fullrace, Robert and Mike. As their posts indicate, the description of his experience is now how we treat new shooters.

To close, it is sad that this person had a bad experience at our match. That said, on my first contact with this person, he seemed the have a “Chip on his shoulder” with a very negative attitude and in general was confrontational about the whole thing. I found him a holster he could use for the match, even tied to get him to use mag pouches but he declined. All while I explained the rules as they pertained to the situation.

  11. " seams like a "Coaching " penalty was given at Nats. this year to the guy coaching not the shooter"

Yep, Coaching penalty given to the person that was yelling advice, as well as, shooter. The shooter acted on the advice given so was also given a penalty. If he had not acted on the advice he would .

  12. I have owned and used two different lee presses, turret and the load master, while they will load ammo and are cheap you will spend much of your time messing around with fixing the press to work correctly and still only only about 90% of the loaded ammo will be usable(fliped primers, no primers,

Frustrated, I finnaly when with the Dillion 550. Wow what a differance. If you can, save up and go Blue!!

  13. It'll have to be Thursday or Friday night. I fly in LATE wednesday and go home EARLY sunday :)

Unless you are getting a shoot thru, you will be missing the start of the match. Match starts at 1:00 PM Wednesday June 20 according to the match schedule posted on the USPSA National’s web site.

Whew - that was a scare MDA! I checked my tix, we do fly in TUESDAY night :)

Hope I didn't scare you too much. Just wanted to make sure you didn't miss the match. See ya in Missoula.

  15. But then the East RM would have to wear one too...and I don't know that 4 wheelers and kilts mix very well...at least not without practice.

I remember that Troy wore one at the nationals several years ago. He seemed to not have a problem, but then he has had practice.

  16. ROFLOL!!! great shirt design. I know most people will not get it since they have not heard the story that goes behind the design.

Outstanding stage design and setup at the Targeting ED matches. To bad I could only shoot the charity match and only got to see a glimpse of the other international stages, but saw some fanstic shooting on the stages I worked. KC's, Chris's and Max's run on stage 13 were unreal.

looking forward to shooting summer blast

  17. Good looking video there Sharyn, as always.

That range looked small, but nice. most of it covered with what looked like an arbor of some sort?

All the shooting bays had baffles over the shooting area due to being in the middle of a large expensive housing complex. This made stage setup an extra tough, but Larry and Jeff pulled it off.

  18. Thanks again for all the input. How do I find the sponsors you are mentioning and do they have web sites?

Check out the Dealers forum section toward the bottom. You should also use the search function as most of your questions have be asked and answered many times. New Customs open gun can be very expensive ($2500 to $3500) so you might look for a used Open gun (see classified section). As Gman stated, go the matches and talk with those that shoot open, most will be more than happy to answer your questions, let you look through the scopes, and some will even insist you shoot a few rounds.

  19. Yep!! Been there, almost did that.

Bought a Dillion 550 several month ago and WOW!! what a differance. With the lee I could only get about 85 out of a 100 good rounds, primers upside down, sideways, or none at all. In the end to make the load master work I had to disable the auto shell feeder and do it by hand, as well as, indexing by hand.

With the dillion I now achieve about 498 out of 500 good rounds. Lee's dies are the only thing really worth keeping expecially the factory crimp die. I did not like the taper Dillion used on the crimp die as it would not size all the way down to fix those Glock bulges on 40 S&W's
