  1. Yep...I started off shooting bullseye. I'll have to dust off some of those skills. Will definitely need to pace myself.
  2. I was just emailed the attached PDF with all the info: PPCMatch.pdf
  3. My buddy tells me there is a PPC match at the Pioneer Gun Club in Holden, MO. I did a search on google for PPC but didn't come up with much. I'm looking for division descriptions, rules, etc. Does anyone know anything about this type of shooting. ....I thought it would be something different to do. Darren PS: Below is a description of the match. Anyone know what PMA stands for?
  4. I'd be willing to pay for the shipping on my package. How much do you need? Do you have a paypal account? Darren
  5. Did anyone get a picture of the plaques? ....I forgot to take a look. Thanks, Darren
  6. PS: ...and per the post above, it's not my fault if my 87.9120% classifier from Area 3 doesn't get sent in.
  7. I'm not worrying and I'm not sandbagging. I simply want to know if the match coordinators had a way to check classes outside of looking at the monthly update. For your information, I wrote on my application that I might be moved up due to my Area 3 performance. I always shoot the best I can. There's no dishonesty on my part. ...It's not my fault if the classification system is behind.
  8. The database update already occurred. Are you saying there is a way to check before the next update (mid-next month)? If this is the case, I might be moved up as well.
  9. I did a side-by-side comparison of corn cob, walnut, and rice. I ran each for 1hr, 2hr, and 3 hr. Walnut produce the best results. 2 hrs+ worked best.
  10. Must have been an internet glitch...went to resquad again and it says I'm already squaded..weird.
  11. WTF? I was squadded in Squad 25, then I just happen to go in today to see where a buddy was squadded and I see that I was unsquadded completely????
  12. Cool! Thanks. ...dang you have a hair thin undercut on that trigger guard.
  13. Of course....I did a bunch of searches for "C-More STS" and didn't come up with jack, but just now found this thread: http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=88493
  14. Has anyone tried one of these STS scopes? I would place it on a single sided mount (NOT mounted to the slide itself). I'm thinking it would be short enough to not get in the way of ejection. However, I'm wondering what are the negatives of going from a Slideride to the STS? If anyone has tried this scope, please post your comments. Any pictures of your gun would also be appreciated. Thanks, Darren
  15. Has anyone tried this new sight on a scope mount on an Open gun? D
  16. Zerwas, Got any pictures of your gun with the Aimpoint? ....does the Aimpoint hang over the ejection port (i.e., can ejecting brass hit the scope)? Thx, Darren
  17. Agree...but I'm thinking it might make for a very light slide...combined with the usual flat topping, rear end lippo, and some internal lightening.
  18. Has anyone done/or seen a Beretta92-like slide cut on a 1911/2011....you know, with the whole top of the slide cut out (like below)? On my bull barrel guns it appears one could cut out about 2 inches between the slide lugs and the slide-barrel contact area on the front. You could go a little further with a bushing slide. ........just thinking it might be something different than doing the typical rib cage cuts. Darren
  19. Thanks for the reply Bob! I will sort out all Winchester headstamp and do some testing. Regarding hitting the port, I painted all around the inside of the ejection port with blue dykem and looked for witness marks. I saw none. However, I'll give it another try. What tension do you all have on your extractors? I've read to have about 1 lb 9 oz. I experimented with 1 lb and still had hits. When I went to 1 lb 11/12 oz, I had less hits. I'm afraid any more tension will cause problems. D
  20. I've seen and read the brazos article many times. Thanks. I've also seen the article and pictures about the step you are referring to. ...can't remember the website that goes into detail on it. However, my slide doesn't have the step. Regarding strike point, as I said, I tried moving the point....including moving it all the way to the top. Still had hits into the scope. Regarding mixed brass, I assume you are implying that the major brands eject better (winchester, etc)? D
  21. PS: As I mentioned before, my dad's gun ejects fine. His gun is setup almost identical to mine. The only difference is that his gun was originally built as a 38 super. I have since swapped out the barrel and made it 9 major. He gets no scope hits. My slide was purchased as a 38s/9mm. I'm wondering if maybe his breachface is slightly larger than mine? ...I don't have a good way to measure the difference. However, when you look at his spent brass, the firing pin dimple is off center. On my gun, it's in the center. Moreover, when you try to insert a 38 super case up into my slide, it goes but is tight. On dad's gun it goes in easy. Base on all this, I think his breachface is slighly larger. Maybe having a slightly larger breachface is the difference? [edited for spelling]
  22. I'm having issues with my 9major ejecting into the c-more and causing stovepipes. I've done a search and not found a whole lot of info on how to solve this problem. I really really want to avoid having to use one of those goofy side scope mounts. My slide is a STI 38s/9mm. The cases are definitely hitting the c-more then falling back into the port. I used tape on the c-more to verify the hits. I also put some dykem around the bottom of the ejection port to verify they weren't bouncing off the bottom of the port and back in....no marks there. I tried messing with the ejector shape...I put the point all the way at the top and that didn't help. I tried messing with the ejector length: I tried it short, tried long, tried in the middle, and the cases still hit but the hits move back as the ejector gests shorter. I tried a 8lb recoil spring and I tried a 10 lb (thinking that lowering or raising the speed of the slide may make the difference. I still get hits. I tried a little more extractor tension which helped a little, but I still have hits. I've had some hits when doing slow fire and I've had some hits while doing double taps. However, it appears maybe it occurs more often while doing double taps. I've read that some people think the problem (especially during rapid fire) is due to the next round not being all the way up in the magazine to support the ejecting case. Conversely, I've also read/been told to lower the magazine feed lips to prevent the next round from interfering. On a side note: my dad's gun has the same slide and frame and my magazines work fine in his gun (no hits). This leads me to believe it's a gun problem, not a magazine problem?? I wanted to get some opinions before I start lowering feed lips and going beyond the point of no return on my expensive magazines. Any help is greatly appreciated!! As I said, I don't want one of those stupid side mounts. I'll go back to Limited division before I get one of those. I look forward to your comments. Darren
  23. Can you send me a link to the website so I can see the files? What I'm doing is creating a website where people/clubs can post match results. I was told that the program produced 12 separate files that had to be manually combined, then saved into a txt or html file. Darren
