  1. What platform are you shooting, Poly - Glock, Sig, Springfield, etc. or Steel - Tangf, CZ, STI ?
  2. Quick picture of my 9mm STI Edge. I really enjoy shooting this gun.
  3. I grew up loading on Lee presses, but graduated after about 10 years to a Dillion 750, wow what a difference. I still use my Lee presses when changing load data and doing small batch stuff.. Lee is a great way to start and learn I think, but it really depends on your quantity, time, and money, you could skip it and go straight to a Dillion, and never look back.
  4. We have a few STI Edge pistols also, kind of the gun that really exploded the USPSA Limited division. Today so many great custom guns off that platform, but I am still fond on my STI Edges for sure. My favorite to shoot is my 9mm Edge, it was converted from a 40 S&W, but I keep it at 9mm most of the time. Welcome
  5. Yup just take your time, a ton of information to read about and learn. What division are you shooting? Hope you have matches close distance, a great sport for sure.
  6. I have been a member here for about 5 years, just don't post much at all, mostly lurk, read and look through the classifieds. A great site with a ton of reading, Enjoy.
  7. Welcome, we have been shooting USPSA for 11 years, 10 years as Range Officer, you should consider getting your RO once you get comfortable shooting a few more matches. Hope you have matches local, within an hour or so from where you live. What division did you pick?
  8. When RO'ing, and I see an open shooter approach, I normally don't have time to change ear muffs. Instead I tend to find myself standing back an extra foot or two as they are shooting, but keeping a good eye on them for safety. I see Midway has the Walker Silencer Bluetooth Ear Plugs on sale this month, I need to do some research as one of the reviews rated them as a 25 db cutoff, and some regular old styled plugs at 32 db cutoff.
  9. I hope the direction is not this way but have seen it on a few stages the last few regional matches we attended. They were volunteer groups like BSA that was working and helping out on with reset on a single stage, maybe the RO was involved in Scouts? We acknowledged them and appreciated the break for that stage.

    XD/XDM

The XD and XDM models have been 100% reliable for our family shooting USPSA for years, the early years. I would guess 35K through a XDM 4.5 and another 25K through a 5.25. We also have a few XDs and even the Croatian HS2000 models. We have since moved to metal guns the STI platform, but still own our XD and XDMs, don't plan on ever getting rid of them. A great value handgun in our experience.
