  1. I have both a Falcon and a Carolina Crusher that I use for RFPO(CP33 & TX22 Comp). The Falcon is definitely harder to clean, fouls quicker, and is a little lighter than the Crusher. That said, in my experience the Falcon shoots a little flatter and I don't feel the weight at the end of the muzzle. I believe the side ports on the Falcon are intended to direct sound towards the timer.

  2. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong here-

During a match when the score keeper tells you that you shot a B or C time on a stage, that's not necessarily true. The software is measuring your percentage against the best time recorded in that particular match for that stage, as THAT particular time is recorded as 100%. Comparing against par times for classification is different. I've seen score keepers tell people they just shot a "GM" time based on what the tablet shows during the match, when in reality it was an "M" time.

As an aside, if you're a C class shooter, you're better off not focusing on times and classifications during a match. As an A class shooter, I still don't check scores until after the match. Just my opinion, others will differ of course.

  3. With each passing year, this sport becomes more and more specialized. It's harder(riskier) for top level competitors to cross over and dominate like they did in the past, especially with the ammo shortage limiting practice. While I love to watch big names throw down, it's refreshing to see some new young faces making a name for themselves.

I honestly do not see the need for a 90 degree mount in SCSA.  Even for USPSA I like vertical.  I shot a Slideride for years frame mounted on my Open gun with no issues.  The only thing you had to remember was to hold over on those 5 yard head only shots.

One of my S.C. buddies swears by his 90° mounts. I could go either way and all of mine are currently mounted upright(pistols & rifles). We're both wanting a c-more mount for the same platform so I figured a survey was in order. Now to convince the manufacturer...

Thanks for your input. Rimfire Challenge limits to 11 rounds. I routinely shoot firearms holding 12 and 15 rounds respectively. I can't remember the last time I even came close to shooting more than 11.

I'm curious. Do they mags appear to be of high quality? Thanks!

One of mine had a cracked feed lip. Keltec replaced it under warranty, service was quick-less than a week. The mags seem to be good quality, but I think cracking is fairly common with clear plastic. The downside is that clear plastic is a requirement so you can confirm correct cartridge stagger.

  6. I've shot 7 SC matches with my CP33 and like it a lot. As others have mentioned, it runs pretty much flawlessly as long as you use 40gr ammo. I shoot RFPO(A class), and have mine set up with a Falcon comp, 12moa C-More, TK trigger, thumb rest and safety. At this point, I know for sure it isn't holding me back and reliability isn't an issue. I broke my speed loader, so now I just load by hand which isn't a big deal. One thing I've noticed is that ammo under 40gr occasionally moves in the mag and becomes rimlocked. This is why Keltec specifies a 40gr minimum.

If Rimfire Challenge limits you to 10rd strings, downloading mags would mean buying more of them. CP33 mags are $50 ea. so you'd better be good at counting your shots. 😁
