  1.  Mine go in ziplock bags(100rds) for easy counting and then in ammo cans. Before a match they get pre-loaded in mags with the remainder dumped in a small can that mounts to my range cart. I like the bags because they take up less space than 100rd boxes.

  2. I'm not trying to be contrary with these posts, but here are pics of a 2017 model with the old style mag release. A buddy of mine bought a new B last year that has this release and an undrilled slide / short guide rod as well. While most of the B's I've worked on were older, I've yet to see a new full-size B with the newer features you both describe unless it was an SA, newer SS model, or an omega.
I know both of you guys are very knowledgeable, ThompsonCustoms advised me on my first pre-b project a few years ago. I rarely post here, and only added these comments to prevent the OP from buying parts w/o checking which platform he has. 59426e67c457be092b743a50da3606b1.jpg9d96be986b48914bbf932bb7ab75db78.jpg

The new 75b models use the d style just like the shadow does.

Older 75b models use the circular style mag release.

Have they switched to a flgr as well?

  4.  Shadow mag release won't fit in a 75B unless you machine the left side. An 85C mag release will fit and is a slight improvement as the face is flat instead of beveled.

SS guide rod will require drilling the end of the slide. Is that legal in IDPA?

David Sams built 1911 9mm. Actually shoots a 10-shot group of 7/8"@50 yards. Atlanta Arms AMU match HP.

It's for NRA Precision Pistol. His Beretta 92 is good for groups of 1-1/4"@50 yards. Same ammo.

    "Coming from 1911's"

    That's not the average 1911.

  6.   The 71115 kit includes the "10040" hammer which is IDPA compliant. CGW gets this hammer from CZ Customs or CZ. It's CZC's comp hammer which has been used on enough production guns with CZ-USA part numbers to qualify. So O.P., if you have the hammer pictured on the CGW page for the "71115" kit, it's gtg for IDPA and USPSA.

This hammer will usually yield a slightly lighter and slightly less crisp break when compared to the Cajun "race" hammer. Away from the bench and on the range, they are very close in feel.

This eliminates the need for a pretravel screw and the chance it can move and make the gun inoperable.

just a way to improve reliability

    Thanks for the clarification.
