I'll try to find a Stock II, III, limited, or limited pro to hold in the KC area before I do any buying. I agree with buying reloading supplies, That is probably the smart thing to do, But i've never been accused of doing the smartest things.

I hear you zhunter, this was another reason why I was thinking of getting another SP01... I hate to buy a gun on looks but the tanfo's have to be some of the best looking guns I have seen. I think I would like the extra weight and bull barrel of the tanfo. I am by no means good at home gunsmithing but I really enjoy tinkering around and changing parts out to see the differences thanks to forums like this that make it possible for guys like me. I hear people talk about a small frame and large frame tanfo, Is there only 1 frame size for the stock II or can you either get a small frame Stock II or a large frame Stock II? Thank you guys for all you input.

I am having a hard time deciding weather to buy another SP01 Shadow or a Stock II. I love the shadow and am very happy with it but also wonder if I love it so much, if I would like the stock II even better. For those of you that have shadows and Stock II's, what are your thoughts, The shadows are cheaper and fit my hand well as my hands are small. Talk me into the stock II.

You're wrong. The full dust cover is not a disqualifying feature in IDPA SSP. A factory (not CZ Custom) SP-01 Shadow is 100% IDPA SSP legal. What makes most CZ Custom pistols not IDPA SSP compliant is the slide milling for aftermarket sights. You can certainly use aftermarket sights in IDPA SSP, but they must fit in the factory dovetails. Thank you for the explanation I'm glad I asked since I have an sp01 shadow, I currently only shoot uspsa but may shoot a idpa match sometime and wasn't sure if I'd have to shoot esp. Full dust covers are not allowed in ESP unless you are using an SSP legal pistol in ESP. Is your SP-01 Shadow a factory gun or one of the CZ Custom-built models? mine is factory stock but ordered off of CZC website, number 91154 I believe.

Ok, I took it out and put 100 through it, it works just fine and I started to get used to it. If it is normal than I'm sure it won't take much longer for me to get used too as I love how the light and smooth the trigger pull now is. Thank you guys for the advice.

I changed the stock trs with with cgw rp trs Thx I'll check those two things and possibly put the stock one back in and retry it.

I have a sp01 shadow that I have upgraded with cgw springs and type 1 disco, it still has the stock hammer and sear. I polished all internals following atlas's guide. The reset seems kind of weak, it works just fine but feels spongy and not a very positive snap on the reset. Is this normal or is there something specific I should look into correcting this.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I heard that the cz75 shadow was idpa ssp legal but the sp01 shadow was not due to the full dust cover. If you plan on shooting idpa and uspsa that may make a difference if this is true.

I agree, as soon as I put it in and pulled the trigger to test a few times I had to go out back and shoot it because I thought there was no way it was going to set the primer off. I had a snap cap in and it did not put a very good dent in them where with the stock hammer spring it made a very large indention in the snap cap... either way I was very pleased to hear it go bang without missing a beat.

I received my parts from CGW yesterday for my stock shadow, I couldn't wait to just try it out, so real quick I just changed out the main spring, recoil spring to 11lb added the SS Guide rod and put the extended fire pin and reduced FP spring in.... What a difference this has made. I also ordered the RP-Trigger return spring and a new Type-1 disco but I with as good as it feels now I am not sure if I want to put the type-1 in yet. I may just tear it down and do the polish job and shoot it as is for a while. FWIW I put the 8.5lb hammer spring in and shoot federal primers, I only tested a handful of times but went bang every time and made a nice indention in the primer.... I am extremely pleased with the outcome of this purchase so far.

Do the 17 or 10 round mecgars mount flush or do they have the baseplate that extends about a 1/2" below the mag well? Or do you have to buy that plate as an add on. I currently just use the stock plastic ones but like the extra length that hangs out

As a new CZ owner I am wanting to add a few mags so I can continue to shoot production. I see CZCustoms has factory 18 rounders but are pretty pricey, I like the way they fit the gun though with the base pad extended down a little ways. Some of the Mec-gars look to be flush mount and I'd rather have all of them be the same length. Does anyone know the best place to buy the factory style 18 rounders, I measured them last night to be sure they would fit inside the 6"x8-15/16 box and they seem too fit with these mags as there was some that apparently did not.

Extended lightweight firing pin, with lighter firing pin spring? Are extended safety / decocker avaliable aftermarket? do they replace part # 14 with. A spacer? Do they leave out the fpb, or just deactivate lifter? Do they change disco..? Lowered weight hammer spring? ( lighter DA) - by far the biggest factor in a lighter DA is a lighter main spring...polishing goes a very long way with the DA as well, but the hammer does help some. Shadow slides do not get milled for the FPB at all Do they change disco..? i believe only the Shadow CUSTOM has a re profiled disco. The best match gun in world only shoots as good as the person pulling trigger. Not saying you can't shoot. Just saying, this is why many companies have stopped giving accuracy guarantees. Joe Blow who shoots 500 rounds a year wants to get pissed because this $4,000 1911 he bought isn't on paper at 25 yards although they give him a 2.5" guarantee with the gun....then Joe Blow claims it's the guns fault and not his. "The best match gun in world only shoots as good as the person pulling trigger. ;)" I 100% agree and I do not claim to be a good shot, i know that the gun will out shoot me any day, I am just saying the Test Targets I had seen of others seemed to be much tighter than my 4" test target. This was my concern that they were putting a "Shadow" slide without a fp block so it could be called a shadow, and then basically all the other lower end SP01 parts, Barrel, grips etc. Then i probably would have been better off just getting a SP01 and saving 300.00 and changing out the guts.

I looked at my test target again and it was actually 4" groups not 3". I have seen a lot of Shadows that are not the orange that have polished or SS barrels as well. I understand it probably does not matter I was just wanting to know if a change had been made or why the difference.

So does the Target Shadow just add grips and adjustable sight? and accu shadow grips, adjustable site and bushings? Also, any info on why the color of the barrel has changed from SS to Black? My test target looks nothing like the ones posted on some of the other shadows. Mine was closer to 3" groups at 25m.
