  1. I know this is like pulling up a zombie thread, but I am pretty desperate to find where you got that thumb rest. I want the exact same thing for my TSO. Thanks!
  2. Except I have been informed this won't work with a tapered barrel that matches to the bushing so tightly like the TS. I am familiar eith tornado technologies for threading kadet kits. I just don't know if there is even enough barrel meat left in day the .40 caliber barrel at the muzzle to thread a tapered extension.
  3. I am sure this has come up before, but I wanted to see if anyone knew of a smith or barrel maker capable of making what I am looking for. Essentially, I want a threaded barrel for my TS orange. No one makes this, though I believe it is possible to accomplish. As far as I understand it, the barrel width and engagement with the bushing would not be impacted by extending the barrel past this point and threading it. So the problem then is a barrel long enough to accomplish this as the stock TS barrel is 5.2" in length. Enter Novo Precision. http://www.novoprecision.com/products/pistol-barrel-blanks/ They can make a custom barrel blank at up to 7" in length, which is more than the size needed. What I am looking for is a smith or barrel shop willing to take custom orders, and has the capability to machine the breech, chamber, feed ramp, barrel taper etc. on a blank from Novo. Before the suggestions come in, I will let you know where I have already asked: CZ Customs and Cajun Gun Works. The former could not lose the production time due to retooling to do it, and the latter said they do not make their own barrels in house. So since Stuart and Micah don't have the ability right now to do this, is there anyone out there who does? I am open to any / all suggestions if you feel the smith is competent or has previous experience with custom barrels. Especially if they have experience with CZ barrels. Thanks all!
  4. I wanted the base pad in black, but alas CZ custom was sold out of black. May still anodize it orange or black. Gun is fun, but that thumb rest makes me go Too small for my hands. Actually debating buying a czechmate scope mount and hacking it off to be even with the frame top because it fits the notch in the frame the thumb rest sits in. That way I can have a flat surface to mount a better thumb rest into, as well as further forward on the gun.

You can't... it is machined to fit the inset in the slide exactly. See my detailed album: http://imgur.com/a/6O0GE

The thing with the TSO is the thumb rest is machined for that notch. That thumb rest you linked to is not, just supposed to sit over he czechmate scope mount. I would have loved if CZ made the same thumb rest, but at least made it in 3 different models. Each one would utilize a different variation of the three screw holes in the frame relative to the thumb rest. The default on the TSO uses the two foward most screw holes and the thumbrest is forged over the last one. If they offered options to cover hole 2 and hole 1 with the thumb rest forging, pushing the thumb rest further forward, it would work better for more peope's hands. Having long fingers, the current location is not ideal and forces a significant grip change from my production shadow for my support hand.

Anyone know if there is an alternative to the TS slide release that comes with the TS orange? I had a hard time utilizing the thumb rest wtih the slide release in the way. I do not care to be able to send the slide home as it will be a limited gun. I feel the thumb rest is a bit undersized, and not very far forward. Many of the surfaces were quite sharp. I ended up drawing blood on my support hand thumb due to the sharp corners. Anyone got anything to replace the slide stop with a flush fitting pin?

Could probably use some slide lightening. I agree with this. I got mine today, and it is quite the gun. The slide could use a bit of chop, but honestly, it feels like a chechmate with iron sights. Insanely good.

The fact that I have been scouring the internet for a decent priced one, and also hadr in stock notifications set up for that gun and I still missed it because they never sent me an email pisses me off more than words allow. %#$&

Jesus Christ... $2,800!!!! There is making a profit and then there is this.... I am not sure I can stomach a 1k "demand" fee. Yowza. I c $1800 The buy now option has been removed since I last loaded that listing. What you are seeing in the minimum stating bid, but there was a buynow price for 2800 bucks a few hours ago.

Tell me who did the work for that bottom gun? I am 100% certain I want to turn my shadow frame into that beauty exactly.
  16. Then they might have used a different box the day I shot. It was absolutely 100% not metal to the touch when I was at the tent. If it was painted/ coated in something that made it feel plastic, then OK, but it did not appear that way from my limited interaction with it.
  17. I am not disagreeing with you on the magazine variety being a non-ideal situation. I was ordering them as I could based on budget. I had the three I got with the gun, and had some mecgars as well. I had gotten springer base pads to make them all the same height, as you can order them for each mag to make them match. Springer did not have enough bare aluminum base pads to fulfill my order so I only had them on 4 out of 6 magazines by the time I left for area 8. Otherwise, i would have had them all the same.
  18. I measured the rear sight from the top of the slide: measurements are in inches and only approximate as the sight orientation doesn't allow for easy measurement from the top of the slide: Using Frankford arsenal calipers I get 0.352 from the slide top to the top of the read sight.
  19. That would be great if you could do that for me. Thanks!
  20. My gun does not have adjustable sights. The sights have no been touched since leaving the factory. I shoot with a friend who had a shadow as well. He had no problems with any of the mags we tested. Both the Mecgar and the CZ stock mags that came with the gun failed to pass. This is not a case of mistaken mags. The are mag I received WTIH THE GUN di not work. A Mecgar mag that worked without a problem in his gun, the same one you talk about, failed in my gun to fit in the box. All of this leads me to beleive the rear sight, which for some reason is different than his, is too high.
  21. The box I was measured with was definitely plastic polymer.
  22. I tried several mags, as I have a variety. The CZ 18 round mags with springer base pads worked fine. The Mecgar 19 round failed (but worked fine in my friends shadow). Stock CZ 18 round magazine with base pad I got with the gun failed.
  23. The box was polymer. If I am allowed another 1/* of an inch I easily would have passed. This is good to know.
  24. I have several mags with springer precision base pads. All of those passed. The mag I handed him was a stock mag, unmodified because I just grabbed the last one in my rig on instinct.
  25. I mean to say, if I challenge it, and he has a bad box, then he has to go back and fix all the other guns that got bumped, which I would imagine is a huge hassle for a 5 day long match where competitors are not local. I would think that is incentive to... ignore a bad box. Not saying one would, but that the situation would lead itself to incentivizing a lie even if the challenge was successful.
