    CZ hammer

Since i am a toolmaker , machinist, i am curious if anyone has ground down the hooks on the hammer where the sear engages, i have a new CZ 75B SA with about 20 shots out of it, but i see it has a mile of creep, so far i am going to order the SAO trigger. remove the firing pin block, remove the lever and replace with a spacer, and change some springs, if i dont grind down the hooks and reharden them, i may try the race or competition hammer. am i missing anything while i have it apart, will also do a polishing of some mating parts. Chet when i remove the firing pin block, can i leave it as is, or do i need to put something in the hole, i cant seem to quite understand what needs to go in the hole for what purpose.
  2. i was out shooting my cz75b SA today, so i had some old Scot Solo 1000, it shot so good, that i was amazed, so it brings me to the question, i dont think Scot Solo 1000 is available anymore, is the new Accurate Solo 1000 going to be as good. Chet
  3. just to add to this topic, i got my order in from Acme Bullets today, bullets were shipped 4/22 and got them this morning, great service, coating look to be excellent, i measured a few and dia's are very consistent. Thank you Acme bullets Chet
  4. well i my buddy Jim and I ordered up a few thousand of the Acme bullets, will give them a shot and see what they are all about, if the dia's are consistent and weights don't vary too much, we will see if they top my current top3 list of bullets. Chet
  5. too bad they dont offer different shaped heads, like a RN or the more popular 147 fp Chet
  6. i checked them out, but looking for coated bullets
  7. hi milkyduds going to check, my last order a month ago was not free shipping, unless there is a code that i am not aware of Chet
  8. looking into getting some 9mm coated bullets in the 124gr and 147gr, do any of the bullet casters run sales at times, has anyone ever tried the Black Bullets International bullets, they seem to have the 9mm 147gr for $225.00 for 3000 bullets shipped. any one else have any good deals on 3000 bullets deals i might have missed Chet
  9. thanks guys for the responses. today i will load a few of the Bayou 147's at 2.7 3.0 and 3.3 of TG and see what i get, will take the chrony along too. Chet
  10. recently i purchased the Bayou 9mm 147gr FP, this bullet has the groove, before that i was shooting the SNS casting 147gr FP without the lube groove, these shot great with 3.2 or 3.0 if TG, for some reason maybe someone has been down this road, but i cannot get this bullet to group, at 25yds my groups opened up over 2" larger than the SNS no lube groove bullet, i hate to give up on the Bayou 147 FP bullet, any ideas why i cannot get them to work, i am shooting a Sig P320 Chet
  11. i notice some users are suggesting the PPQ, my local gun shop has the PPQ in 9mm, the question i have now, i notice there are some trigger kits out there for the XDM, are these a better overall trigger than the PPQ, and a few users suggested the PPQ M2 i never saw one, but as i was saying my wife has small hands, does the M2 have the same grip as the standard PPQ, so what i would like to know will the aftermarkets kits for the xdm equal the PPQ trigger. one of the reasons i overlooked the PPQ is the excessive slop in the slide at the muzzle end, Chet
  12. as i was mentioning i have the new XDM in 9mm with the 4.5 barrel that i purchased for my wife, the trigger needs work no doubt, i notice the after market trigger guys are offering kits ect, one thing i dont care for on the stock trigger is where it breaks it is nearly all the way back, i notice the approach the trigger guys came up with the ease the pull and improve the reset, some use a modified trigger bar, some the modified striker safety lever concept and not too sure of any others, do any of these kits do anything for getting the trigger to break more towards the center of the travel rather than all the way to the end. Chet
  13. HI Johnbu good idea! i will give it a shot, now if only someone will sell a part to shorten that pull, going to order the spring kit and see how my wife likes it from there. thanks Chet
  14. I purchased my wife a new Sig P320 about 3 or 4 weeks ago, i never did find the small module grip assembly, so while we at the local range there was a guy there with a XDM 9mm in 4,5" barrel, my wife really liked the way it felt, she took a few shots and shot it good, so off to the local gun store and we buy her a XDM 9mm with a 4.5" barrel. so after a week with the XDM i can see the trigger is hampering her shooting, taking too long to aim and keeps pulling ect, so i can see she is not happy with the trigger and neither am i, it is so long that it is ridiculous, the P320 trigger is far superior, now this brings me to get some opinions here, i can spend about $140.00 on an after market trigger for the XDM, or trade it in on a Walthers PPQ which has a beautiful trigger, mainly we do range target shooting at 13 thru 25yds Chet
  15. i am looking into getting my wife a 9 mm gun for the range, i bought her a Sig P320 a few weeks ago, so we were at the range the other day, and she held a XDM 9mm 4.5 in barrel. she really like the grip the XDM, i like the P320, but i have no problem getting my wife the XDM, i am reading about the roll pin failures on the striker. has this been corrected in the new XDM's if not the way it looks this gun needs to fired with a snap cap, am i correct. just a report on todays shooting the new P320 at the range here in NEPA 26 deg weather, finally got the gun to put together the best groups of all my 4 striker fired 9mm's, i did a minor mod to the trigger assembly and knocked off approx 2 lbs of trigger pull, groups came together and a trigger that is smooth and very easy to shoot, and thanks to Alma on his 147gr load, starting to really like shooting this gun and i am working on it for my wife, she tried the trigger in the basement and was a big difference over the heavy stock trigger which was approx 7lbs. i realize what you are saying, i did the push test earlier, with the extreme 124gr FP bullet, i came up with 1.142, loaded a few dummies at 1.125 and they go in fine and for some reason the 1.100 do too now, wonder if the 15 deg weather had something to with that, but here in the 70 deg basement they work slick, you can see on the feed ramp where the plating contacts on the ramp. if push test came up with an OAL OF 1.142 then why did you load up at 1.100? 1.125 is what you should be trying. hi CZ i loaded at 1.125 and they fed perfect, we were shooting today here at a indoot range, this gun is for my wife, she went thru 130 rnds of different loads, and found the 125 gr RN bullet by Blue bullets with 5gr of unique shot the best with the 147gr SNS casting with 3.2 gr of titegroup close second, so far my wife is liking the gun, she shot my gen 4 glock 17 and was saying the grip felt better for her, so i am going to try the sig small module frame. and take it from there, so far being a mech engineer i feel the trigger mechanism is over engineered and is going to be costly to get the trigger near my 3lb glock, now these guns are for target shooting only, not a carry gun, hope someone is on the bandwagon for a softer trigger for the p320.the gun is on par accuracy with the glock. next time to the range i am going to see if i can manage shooting off of a rest chet

hi Alma i loaded some 147 SNS 147 FP with 3.5 w231 at an oal of 1.150 no issues and some 115 sns 115 RN with 4.5 W231 at oal of 1.100 no issues with feeding on these 2 loads but grouping was terrible. question on my 124gr load with the plated RN or FP tips, looking for a little more power, i am currently loading 4.0 of w231 would i see a little more snap at 4.2 grs i had one or 2 shots where i felt some sort of double click and had to pull the slide to get the next round in and was ok, maybe the gun needs more rounds thru it, had a feeling the slide did not get into full battery position, that is why i am thinking a little more powder to get the action to slam a little harder

it happens with 5 rnds or 10 rnds in the mag, since the weather is bad here now snowing ect, i will load a few dummie rounds and see what i can see is going on, i did the plunk test and no problems, if i have to stay with RN tips rather than FP tips ok no problem,

looks like the tip runs into the feed ramp and will not go up in the chamber
