I have after much consiteration and gnashing of teeth decided to stick with my 40 for the forseeable future And yes I know the drawbacks to this decision but really I'm just learing the way of the dot gun so to speak so it won't hurt me too much if I later figure I made a mistake(after all we only learn by making mistakes) Now to the point of this post I would like your opinions on barrel/comp configs for a 40. I am on a VERY tight budget so please keep cost as a big factor. I was looking at a nowlins bbl and an egw 7port 3 chamber comp setup I saw in my brownells catalog but would like some feed back. Thanks for your input. New to the dot but very enthustastic!

just wanted to get some imput on you guys thoughts on a .40s&w as an open gun. I ask this because I have a para p1640 and will prolly be getting a serindipity in the near future. I origionally bought it as a limitid gun because I wanted to get better shooting limited before moving to open. But after muck consiteration(and the fact that the optic was cheaper than I thought) I'm now consitering moving it to an open gun. I have 6 21rd mags and most of the stages at the local club matches mag capasity isn't really an issue as there is lots of places to get a "free" reload. What I really want to know is is there some inherent reason that more no one uses them? other than mag capasity? And before anyone mentions that I can get a used open gul for 800-1000 I know but I want to use what I have on hand rather than getting a new gun or paying for a new topend. Your thoughts?

I ran into a problem with my 15 rd mecgar mags they don't fit in my gun even with dawsons +2 baseplates when the dawsons magwell installed. I have been looking for places to get some but I haven't really had any luck. any help here would be great. PS wouldn't mind sti for para either

Can anyone help me ont a bit I'm trying to track down some cheap ammo. Can't seem to find anything suitable. I can find lots of carry loads but not much that I can use for matches, or that I can afford. can 40 ammo be had for less that .20$/rd? and if so where.

Thnaks for all the advice guys. I think I'll have to have the dovetail cut at some point but I have a few matches coming up that I wanna shoot so it will have to wait till I have more time..

Hey guys I'm fairly new to the uspsa and I am putting togather a para linited rig based on a P16-40. I got a great deal on it(under $500 nib) but when I got it I got a slight unfortunate suprise seems that the front sight is pinned on. Now I want to put one of those new fangled fibre sights on it to replace the 3 dot system in place now. What's the best way to do that? PS posting a pic of my new limited rig

I have an Arcus Highpower. I got it cheap to get into the shooting sports. I'm using a Smith&Wesson Fobus paddle holster cause it's the only one the local gun store had that fit my gun. I saw on holsters.com that they have Safariland 012 holsters on clearance for $75. It looks like this holster will fit my gun and I will eventually be getting a 1911, But for now every penny is presious to me, I need to know if this holster will fit my gun. Advice please.
