  1. I should have been more specific on my question. Mark, model and caliber?
  2. Sorry, my mistake. Here is pictures taken Finnish IPSC rifles at 2005 Nordic Rifle Championships If someone living in somewhere else than Finland will regognize all these rifles I will buy him a beer at next WS rifle match.
  3. "Shark" comp/break from Finland IPSC standard legal 1"x3"
  4. Barrel threading was changed to normal 1/2" 28 tpi and hole of the comp was enlarged to 8.5mm. Otherwords barrel was cut down a little and ported and rethreaded. It shoots (5 shot) 50mm groups at 150m with that Accupoint pictured and with normal Lapua factory ammo. It groups 10 cm with Wolff 154gr ammo with same distance. Only thing you have to know for taking advatage of this caliber is to know how that bullet flies in different distances. Make a chart and use good scope with reliable turrets and test it in practise. My scope is zeroed to 200m so I know that it makes 38cm drop on 300m. That info is for my major hand loads. With wolf 154gr ammo I have same point of impact in 100m. That way I can choose ammo with different distances. In close range (less than 20m) I just aim up in the A-zone and hits are in the middle of the target. I hope you understand my bad english skills.

TBF You need milling machine for making those modifications required. With normal upper there is only 1mm metal left after milling the upper for magazine. Best choice is to make it with DPMS low profile upper because it has twice as thick walls as compared to normal A3 upper. Mig My rifle works excellent. I have done minor detailing to my magazines for reliable feeding. It is as reliable as my Colt Law Enforcement Carbine. Normal AR-15 cleaning methods will do fine. Yes, it's Socom Mfg side charger upper
  6. Retail price for AR-47 lower is $350 You need to make some modification to your normal 7.62x39 AR15 upper. You can find some info here: www.ar47.com Check www.gunbroker.com for Franken Mags They have couple 7.62x39 Colt uppers for sale also. Here is my newest 7.62x39 modified Colt upper Specs: Colt 16" 7.62x39 barrel Benny Cooley compensator DPMS ventilated free float tube JP Rifles gas block Harris bipod ARMS #38 ext rail Trijicon Accupoint 1.25-4 red triangle scope IOR Valdada quick detachable rings Mag Pul 93 stock Colt H buffer and spring SPR grip JP Rifles trigger parts Redi Mag Colt LE6920 lower receiver And best of all it runs like champ BTW those Franken Mags holds 34 rounds without problems

Don't believe what Erik says. AR-47 is excellent choice for IPSC and 3-gun shooting I does not crack. I have shot thousands of rounds through my AR-47 For modifying AR-47 upper receiver use DPMS low profile upper. It has thickest walls for machining the magwel. Here is couple pictures of my AR-47 with different combinations
  9. SGT Do you have picture of your installation? Did you follow installation instructions? There is a diffrence which way you put the locking ring on the barrel. You can see the diffrence by taking that locking ring out and check the threads of that locking ring. I have installed more than 20 of those Miculek Comps and never had problems.
  10. I like AR-47 is better because of larger selection of magazines. You can use 5 to 75 round magazines and all work excellent. It also has all AR-15 advantages like modularity. You can use almost all AR-15 accesories with it.(rails, tubes, grips, stocks, trigger parts etc.) My Ar-47 upper receiver and bolt carrier modification is made by Freedom Enterprises in NC Side charger upper receiver is manufactured by Socom Mfg. Franken mags work excellent in my pump rifle but I have tested them as semi auto also and there is nothing to worry about. My competition gun is DPMS Pump rifle in this season. BTW DPMS has 7.62x39 AR-15 rifles for sale with franken mags. I had one 7.62x39 barreled upper from DPMS and accuracy was excellent. I have ever had such accurate 7.62x39 barrel before. Ps. You can put 2 franken mags together with mag ginch and you will have 70 rd capasity.
  11. Yes, I have and they work excellent on my 7.62x39 Colt system. I have 2 different set ups for 7.62x39 major rifle. One is for SAO division and one is for MAO division. AR-47 Same AR-47 rifle with different set up DPMS Pump Rifle in 7.62x39 caliber
  12. My favourites for close range: Trijicon Compact ACOG with dot and donut reticle Aimpoint ML2 Tasco Optima 2000 or J-Point Mid range: IOR CR-TS 3x Trijicon Accupoint 1.25-4 red triangle reticle Simmons Pro Diamond 1-5 Long range: Leupold Vari III Tactical MilDot 3.5-10 It depends what rifle I'm using.
  13. Those videos are from our latest Winter CUP III match which was held in 03.12.05
  14. What is this nonsense about magazine capazity. It really doesn't matter if CZ SP01 holds 18 rounds Baikal Viking MP446 holds 18 rounds Picture below and so does Para Ordnance LDA all 9mm models Picture below and both are on PD IPSC approved list. BTW my G17 holds 18 rounds in normal magazines without modification. Long dust cover i s the only criteria why CZ SP01, Jericho and Tanfoglio SC are not in approved list.(and that sucks, that's my opinion)
  15. Sako/Tikka plant is about 50 km and Vihtavuori/Nammo Lapua is 500 km from Helsinki. Covert info: 1m = 3.2808 ft 1g = 15.432gr 1mm = 0.039371 in
  16. Some test results so far Powder: Vihtavuori N133 Loading: 1,802g Bullet: 9,7g PPU Case: Sellier Bellot Barrel: 410mm (16") Temperature: -7 Celsius Velocity: 636 m/s IPSC PF: 313 Powder: Vihtavuori N133 Loading: 1,802g Bullet: 9,4g PPU Case: Sellier Bellot Barrel: 410mm (16") Temperature: -7 Celsius Velocity: 645 m/s IPSC PF: 307 Powder: Vihtavuori N133 Loading: 1,802g Bullet: 9,7g 303 British Case: Sellier Bellot Barrel: 410mm (16") Temperature: -7 Celsius Velocity: 643 m/s IPSC PF: 316 Velocity measured 3 meters from barrel Powder load is going to be raised to 1.85g in next test session. There were no pressure marks on used case. We are going to make sure that it will meet major classification with both my barrels 16" and 18" 20 degrees warmer weather it will do that definately. Well it's still winter here in Finland.

  18. I got more info about DPMS pump action rifle. It's spring assisted but the spring can be removed and the rifle will still go as manual action. I ordered the rifle from my exporter. 8-10 weeks delivery time from manufacturer and couple weeks from USA to Finland. We are developing major loading for that rifle. (7.62x39 russian) Starting with following components: 9.4 g and 9.7g Priv Partizan bullet Sellier & Bellot case (largest room for powder) Vihtavuori N130 powder 1.8g I will let you know how it goes.
  19. According Tim Andersen Chairman of IPSC rifle rules DPMS pump action is approved for manual action division. See link: http://ipsc.invisionzone.com/index.php?showtopic=788 You have to register on the board to see the answer.
  20. I didn't find any information about that spring (if there is any) being against rules in IPSC rifle practical rules book. Can you verify that somehow?
  21. You can found some data here: http://www.accuratereloading.com/76239.html
  22. Yes we can and we can also use heavier bullets to get the PF 320. With 8g (123gr)bullets 320 (pf) / 123 (gr) x 1000 = 2602 fps, which is 794 m/s. With normal Lapua ammo you can get 720m/s out of 18" barrel (not major, just example) You can use also 9.7g, 11.8g and 12.3g bullets With Vihtavuori N133 powder that is easy to get major PF. Mainly we use 9.7g bullets to get the major PF. You can load that information to Quick Load program and calculate.
  23. Don't you guys worry about steel in Sellier Bellot ammo. It's only soft iron and does not harm your plates and poppers if they are made of quality(armor) steel or Hardox 500 or similar.
