  1. I sighted in my Aimpoint Comp dead center on the A zone using a bench rest at 12 metres. When I shoot at 25 metres I noticed that I have to aim at the upper A zone somewhere between the A & B zone to get center hits on the A zone. Which means to say that the gun shoots low at far distance. Can anybody explain this to me? Actually iron-sight gun is the still the best as you do not have all these hassle and best of all no batteries are needed.
  2. Do you think a 7MOA in a tube-type scope is sufficient for IPSC? Some say that a 10 MOA would be ideal. What do you guys think?
  3. Is great to have such tremendous response to this topic. Most of you have answered my question. I do agree with EricW and BE that it is much easier to locate the dot on a tube especially on the first shot. My experience is that shooting with the tube does not really impair my overall vision as I am looking through the tube most of the time unless if I am engaging really close target say 5 yds and below. I will use the sihouette of the tube as a guide. This is also where the 'awareness exercise' by BE comes into play as well. Will stick to the tube type for now.
  4. I have noticed that in Bianchi cup competition, majority of the shooters used tube type of scope eg., Aimpoint, Tasco and so forth. Hardly any heads-up display type like C-more. There must be a reason and I would like to know. Is it that the tube type is more precise or what?
  5. I have posted this before in this forum pertaining to the G.T. I am not complaining and I think is good as the it eliminates the staging process. It just go all the way through. L.S. trigger is made of aluminium unlike the G.T. which uses the original trigger. I understand there is a recall on all the L.S. trigger sold. My opinion is that by just changing the trigger will not help a great deal as you have to change other parts as well like:- lighter firing-pin, firing-pin spring, disconnector safety plunger and anything that will enhance the trigger pull. Is an amalgamation of all the parts that are related to the trigger.
  6. Although the OKO sight is not as popular as the C-more, but there are some shooters using this sight in the U.S. Would like to know what they think of this sight in terms of reliability and ease of use (sighting-in)& so forth. The OMNI is not very reliable especially the first generation model and is heavy compared to OKO or C-more. Heard they have a second generation coming out.
  7. Bulm5, Operated on Jan.-9 and had the stictches removed on the 21st. No massage has been done yet.
  8. Recently I had a minor operation on my left hand palm just below my third finger. Is called 'Tenosynovitis', layman's term 'trigger man.' How appropriate!!!! Is it quite common with shooters & if any of you guys out there who have such problem. I would like to know how to prevent it from occuring, eg.any finger exercise or something like that. Thank you.
  9. I have tried Sprinco on my G.-26 & my EA-9. There are certainly not cheap and in my opinion not worth the money. I feel the cycling is somewhat wierd & I prefer the conventional guide-rod. My opinion is that it may caused malfunction in the long run.
  10. My believe is that if you cannot have a perfect trigger control during dry-firing. What chances have you got during live-firing? Yes dry-firing is a must if you want to improve your shooting. I also believe that playing around with the gun (unloaded of cause!!!)is important. Getting a feel of it, press the trigger & feel how the sear disengage. Even if you spend only 5-10 minutes a day just playing with it will help.
  11. BruceG, You may try getting the 'XD' from Brownells or SSI. 'XD' do come in 8 moa. I had that problem too when I first tried out the C-more and probably you are right. Give it sometime and practice and we will be able to find the dot on a C-more. At that time I bought the Comp & the C-more at the sametime and I just switched to the Comp when I found I had problem with the C-more. My Comp is the first generation type before the 'XD.' If I want to try the 'heads-up display' one more time I will go for the OKO.
  12. Rescator, I would have thought so, 4 moa is just too small for IPSC shooting. I am used to at least a 8 moa. Anyway I will stick to my old Comp and if I need to change I will probably try the OKO sight which comes in 4,6 & 8 moa. I think the minimum you can go down is a 6 moa for IPSC.
  13. Rescator, You said that you have tried the CompC but you prefer to stick to your XD/7moa. Is there a reason for not changing to the CompC? Is the 4moa too small for your liking or what?
  14. 1/Has anyone tried the new CompC which is supposed to last much longer(battery wise) and brighter? Only come with 4 min. dot and don't you think is a bit small for IPSC shooting? 2/What is the general opinion on 'tube vs. heads-up display type of scope.'It seems to me the heads-up display is more popular than the tube. The pros & cons of both types.
  15. Go for the Heinie slantpro. You will not regret.
  16. I posted this question about the G.T. in this forum before in Oct./Nov. 2001 and nobody seemed to have heard about this trigger before. I took the plunge and ordered one for my G.-26. They have two types, one is the SRT and the other is SRT+LTP(more expensive). I have the latter one and I am not complaining as it does the job. Safeties all working.
  17. 1/The Wolff replacement guide-rod & plug for factory captured spring. With this system you can play around with the recoil spring weight. I have a 26 and I am thinking of going down to 14lb. recoil spring and the factory is rated @16lb. Wolff is the only one that offers a 14lb. recoil spring. Lighter recoil spring gives a softer feel to the recoil & reliability problem. Shooting only factory loads. What do you think of it? 2/The L.S. lightweight steel striker which claims to be 30 per cent lighter than the factory striker. Don't you think this is better than the titanium striker, not as light as the titanium but lighter than factory and is a good compromise. Had bad experience with titanium striker on Glock- ignition problem even with factory loads!! Do you think I have any problem with a lighter steel striker shooting only factory loads / 115gr.(fmj&jhp)? Worried about ignition problem if you get a hard primer round it won't go off. What do you think?
  18. Don't know where to post this question so in it goes into this 'don't fit anywhere' section. Has anybody use this Stealth holster and feed back please?
  19. Seen it in Cominolli's website their Glock trigger going for $50.00. Supposed to reduce trigger slack & so forth. Has anybody try it out on their Glock? Any good? Top-fuel trigger is not much good for me as they required the gun to do the trigger job. Not possible to ship gun to them from Malaysia to do a trigger job, too much red tape!!
  20. I have a G.-26 for concealed carry and self defense. I have the Heinie 'straight eight' night sights on it. The only complain I have is that the front sight width is I think .125" which is a bit too wide for my liking. Probably because of the tritium dot you cannot go thinner than .125". Any suggestions from you guys to make the front blade thinner. Glockracing custom has a customized Heinie 'slant-pro' rear sight modified whereby the rear notch is slightly wider. For your infor. I am thinking of doing away the rear tritium dot and just use the tritium front dot. Personnally I find that the straight '8' configuration can be somewhat distracting when you have to line the two dots on top of each other to make a sort figure '8'. Use a std. black on black rear sight and just align the dot and shoot.
  21. Attention KYLE:- Yeah!!! I am interested in cleaning up the Glock trigger. Give me some pointers. Thanks a lot.
  22. I am interested in this 'top fuel trigger' for Glock. I have a 26 and the only thing I never about htis gun is the trigger. How is this 'top fuel trigger' likr=e nad where can I get it. Thank you. Rgds.,Dennis.
  23. Any feedback 'good or 'bad' on this Optima 2000 on a Glock? Is it true that you need to do some minor modifications to the slide if you want to fit the EGW Optima base onto the Glock? Thinking of fitting the Optima to my G.-26.
  24. I have been told that the erlier batch of Optima 2000 has some technical or reliability problem. The newer production batch has the problem solved. Is it true? I have also been told you have to modify the slide a bit if you fit the EGW Optima base onto the Glock. Is not a straightforward swap so to speak. Anybody got any feedback on this? Thinking of fitting an Optima to my G.-26 for self-defence.
  25. Has anybody tried this new alu. trigger from L.S. on their Glock? Claims to reduce trigger-pull by up to 50%. Sounds amazing!!!
