Thanks for the feedback everyone! I realized that I hadn't posted an update since I ordered it, went with the MTAC and the PEPR mount.

Trying to decide. Not in any particular order, Burris MTAC 1-4, Muller Speed Shot 1-4, Leatherwood CMR 1-4, or Primary Arms 1-6, though I'm always open to feedback. Mount and scope combo HAS to be below $500.

Pretty happy with how it came out, few things I need to get checked, just to make sure. It depends on the barrel gas port size and ammo too. If you run a normally configured barrel and full pop ammo, then you would have to cut the gas some to get it tuned. The Noveske is not the unit for tuning...it is just 3 settings. Most people running the Nordic Competition barrel do not need to tune the gas at all since the gas port is reduced in size a bit. I'm in that boat when I use my Carbon Arms 16" upper. Got that nifty Nordic barrel. Fixed gas block. Never had a gas-related problem with it and the guys watching me fly through the shoot house said it was flat as a table top while I went blasting from room to room. Obviously the comp helps too. I use a JP low mass carrier to round out the operating system for that configuration. Can't wait for my stuff to arrive from Carbon Arms! I've got the 18" Nordic barrel and Fixed Gas Block. Just waiting for the comps to arrive so it can get shipped out.

I'll be shooting my first match on the 12th, using my XDm 45 4.5", will shoot CDP most likely.

So I'm most likely going with this for my current 18" AR build, this is a 3Gun/SPR style build, what's everyones take on going with the smooth top vs the Pic Rail top? Is one more preferable than the other? TIA!

Hello from the Metro Detroit area. I've been poking around the forums for a few months, keeping my eyes and ears open and my mouth shut trying to learn a few things. I've wanted to try some of the shooting sports for a couple years, but this year I'm getting off the dime and doing it. I'm taking an Intro to IDPA class at the end of March, hoping my then we get about freezing temps and much less snow on the ground! I'm also interested in trying out 3 Gun, but one thing at a time!
