  1. When are all you silly PC users going to realize that MAC is the only way to go!!! I ran my business (screen printing & embroidery, see dealers forum) for 7 years on pc's and had more problems than i care to discuss. One of my best friends who is also in the graphics business kept trying to convert me to mac for years. One day i saw the light and ordered 4 mac g4's and i haven't had 1/1000th the problems i used to have when i was running PC's! Save your replies referencing that "well macs are designed for the graphics industry" becasue i here that still to this very day and i have two responses to that nieve staement: 1.) MACS weren't / aren't designed or targeted to the graphics industries, they ae designed to run..........PERIOD. 2.) If that statement were true.......then why wouldn't you buy a MAC? Graphics are one of the most taxing programs / files you can run on a computer and if they run well on a machine then that machine can handle anything you feed it! Let us not forget that .......oh i hate to say it.........Bill Gates used (and i'm being polite!) the original Apple code to form his ever misleading poor excuse for an operating sustem.......Windows.......the biggest scam ever to posses the human race. Bill Gates is not a computer genius he is a marketing genius....kudos to him in that respect. Then some of you are going to reply to this stating that Macs are too expensive....well price out the machines that these other people have posted as to what it cost to build and i am willing to bet that they are in the same price range as any mac. Then we can talk viruses. No one has succesfully written a virus to date that will run (ruin) on a mac to date. ..........HA! Then there is the beauty side of things. Everything Apple sellls is like a piece of art, not just a box. They put more thought and design into just their packaging than any pc company puts into their machines. So start there and work your way upto their hardware and experience what the whole MAC thing is about. Save yourself any future aggravation, get up one morning, pick yourself up by the bootstraps, buy a MAC, put the apple sticker on your cars back window and begin enjoying your computer, not spending time making sure it is going to run when you turn it on. And buy the way, our faithful guru, (brian) the reason we all gather here to put our two cents out to the world to uses MAC! So there's my two cents.......don't be mad, be sensible! cheers!
  2. Hey Catfish, I too have this problem. Everything is fine untl the R/O says "STANDBY". Then the fog moves in! I have tried many of the various goops that are out there and they all work to a certain point. The best and most reliable solution i have found is an inexpensive "ANTI-FOG" cloth made by SCOTT....the guys that make goggles. They come in a little 2" x 3" zip lock package that you can put anyhere and they are cheap..(I think I paid $.99 each for them). All you have to do is fog your glasses up with your breath and then wipe them down with this cloth. It is the easiest and most reliable method i have found. What i do is wait until i am 2 or 3 shooters away from shooting and give them a quick wipe before each stage and it has been the solution to my fogging problem. I usually get 2 to 3 matches out of 1 cloth before i determine it useless. You can 't beat it for the price and the convienence. I found these one day by accident in a motorcyle shop looking for a part for my generator! Give them a try, If nothing else it is a cheap quick back up solution if everything else fails. Good Luck!
  3. Just to add my two cents worth to this topic. I have discovered a relatively new player in the market of range bags and accessories The name of the product is iSHOT. I have recently purchased a tactical bag from them for my AR15 and absolutely love it. I have yet to run across a bag with so much attention to detail and quality. I was so impressed with this rifle case i ordered one of their range bags to switch over to for this season. I highly reccommend this line of products to anyone considering purchasing a new rangebag or other accessory they offer to tote back and forth to the range / match. You can find them at www.mle-shootingsports.com which by the way happen to be listed in the paid dealers forum section
  4. Hey Kimel and All Concerned, just to add my two cents on this topic. I own a large screen printing and embroidery company in New England, and have been in the business for 20 years. Although it may not cost $5.00 extra for a size xxxl shirt and other bigger sizes, any size above xl is surcharged from the distributors. I have NEVER seen a single distributor charge the same price for garments small through XL as XXL, XXXL or larger no matter how many you are buying for an order. This is true for me whether i buy one shirt or 50,000 shirts. I get the best pricing on shirts from my distributors becasue of the quantities i by and i am still charged the standard sucharges for larger sizes above XL. In most cases this makes the larger sizes much more expensive than the standard sizes. My standard surcharge for xxl size is $2.00 and $3.00 for xxxl which is in line with what the mark up on the standard sizes is versus the cost. I do agree that some printers / embroiderers do take advantage of the larger size surcharges but most are just marking them up accordingly. To say that an xl t-shirt or polo cost the same as a xxl or xxxl is like saying that .45 acp costs the same as 9mm.....and that is a very accurate comparison. If anyone has any questions about what they are being charged for shirts and / or other charges concerning their order please feel free to contact me and i will be glad to let you know if you are being given a fair deal. I have done several Area Matches in both Area 7 and Area 6 and alot of club / team shirts for alot of shooters. All of which have expressed to me that they feel they are getting a great price for their merchandise. I have only been shooting IPSC in Area 7 for 3 years and of course i promote my business throughout the various places i go. I like to think because i am a shooter i can give my customers more than what they will get from just a walk through a door at just any local place. I also think that i can give them the look and feel of their design / graphics because i am a shooter and know the subtle differences that can make or break a designs relativity. My ultimate goal is to make the shirts i have printed / embroidered be the best looking shirts at the match! The motto amongst the guys i shoot with is "We might not be the best shooters here, but we are the best looking!" Of course owning the business allows me to be as creative and extreme as i want. Ultimately my point here is: don't bash the businesses that you are going to for your match needs, shop around and make sure you know what you are getting for the money. Screen printing and Embroidery is a very competitive industry. If you work closely with a company and stay loyal you will get a lot of added value for what you are paying for. thanks.......
  5. I bought my Oakley Assault Boots about a year and a half ago directly off the website when they had just released them for sale to the public and had them marked as limited supply. Although they are quite pricey compared to other brands and styles of footwear, I justified the purchase because i figured if our armed forces personnel were wearing them they must be comfortable and durable and i was sick of the way my feet and legs felt after a match. I can only say great things about these boots. They are the most comfortable boots i have ever worn. Lightweight, great support, and great traction on various terrain. I live in new england, so they are subjected to every type of climate and conditions you can throw at them. My feet don't sweat excessively in them during the warmer months and i have actually practiced for many hours on hard pack snow without having my feet get cold as well. My friend that got me into IPSC and probably the person I shoot the most with has about the funkiest feet i have ever seen (sorry pal). He has very high arches and after some of the longer matches his feet really kill him. As he has been my mentor for always striving to improve my shooting and helping me alot with everything from practice drills to fixing my guns i felt he deserved a fine pair of these as well, so i got him a pair for his birthday......He loves them too! I have since bought two more pair that reside in my closet to replace the original pair when they wear out, which by the looks of it, i will have Oakleys for many more years because the original pair are still going strong. I hate finding a product that works well, go to replace it, and it is no longer available. In case any of you are wondering............No...I do not work for Oakley! I just wanted to pass along my experience with this product to others who may have an interest in them.
  6. I ordered 2 single stage flat AR triggers from the (CM) website on 11/14/04 and after calling them about 6 times recieved mine yesterday! Don't hold your breath if you want one of these, i have yet to install in my AR so i can't even tell if it was worth the money and wait. Good Luck
