    I get 29 in my MBX 170.

Every single MBX mag I own holds 30 9mm out of the package. Its tight... but they all run 100%. Use an uplula and its a non issue. Gen 1 and 2.

  2. Could be 1 of 4 things IMO. Listed in order of likelihood.

Blue Primer Tip - The blue plastic tip is dirty/chewed up/misaligned. (I use a brass tipped rod, the same one used on a 650/750. Many say to not use this, but it fixes a lot of issues and I've never blown a stack from using it on an automated press for well over 250K rounds).

Primer Bar Actuating Lever - you may have bent the primer actuating arm not allowing the primer slide to travel far enough to grab a new primer. (This can be bend back into shape very easily. Sometimes they need to be replaced as once they start to bend, they will do it more often).

Very Dirty Internal Primer Tube - You could have some built up debris inside the internal primer tube causing primers to not drop freely. (Shove some dry clean q-tips down the tube and use the primer rod to push them thru. Amazing how much will come out).

Out of Spec Primers - I guess you could also have some weird out of spec primers that won't drop free in the tube itself, but that is rare. (Strongly worded email to MFG.... lol)

I don't know what "wooden" means in this context.  I also have no concept of how you grip a gun, so are you talking about a combat/competition grip, squeezing it between your hands?

Part of it is 1911's fit my hands best, so the grips feel more natural to me.  I'd still love a little more like the aggressive G10's on my Springfield but it's not hampering my shooting, and nothing I couldn't fix on a per-match basis with a little coban tape.

The texture is smooth and not grippy at all. Similar to a stock 1911 grips. Much akin to the non aggressive MPA golfball pattern for a 2011 grip.

    Thanks for your reply @synchronicity

After speaking to local armorers (Eric Grauffel in France/GECO IPSC team Germany), I learned that the two products are identical.

    • Red sticker on outer/black plastic trays for retail
    • White sticker on outer/white plastic for wholesale and commercial reloading businesses

For info, prices are now 50€ per 1000 in the EU (June 2023). Thats 30% less than 6 months ago.

How is supply and price for SPPs in North America at present?

USA Availability has been getting better and pricing has been coming down in recent weeks/months.

If you are lucky you can get SPP for under $65USD/K. Common pricing is $70-75 USD/K. This is for CCI, Winchester, Fiocchi, Ginex, Servicos, and Remington.

We peaked out around $100-110/K depending on location during late 2022/early 2023.

  5. Scores only count if its within 5% of your class. You are currently B Class. So anything below 55% wont count. Thus your lower scores being flagged as a B.

B as defined within the classification section. "This score is more than 5% below the minimum score for your current class and cannot be used. This flag is only applied at the time the match is uploaded, not with every classification run. Please note that you may have scores from your initial classification that are lower than more recent scores that are flagged B. This is because all scores regardless of percentage are used to determine your initial classification; however, after you have earned your initial classification only scores that are at higher than 5% below the minimum score for your class can be used. For example, for a C-class member, only scores that are higher than 35% will be used. This is also used if the score is less than 2%"

  6. For me it started with stage design. The local MD was moving and the club was having a vote at the end of the season for a new eBoard (President, MD, and RM). I threw my name in the ring and ended up running MD for 5 years while continuing to help out after the next batch of motivated guys took over.

To me... it comes down to "Be the change you want to see". Dont like slow matches... make them more efficient. Don't like the stages? Design your own and submit them. Dont like the props, build new ones and donate them to the club. There are tons of ways to get involved. I suggest starting with something that riles you up.

  7. Literally every 2011 gunsmith has done similar cuts to this at one point in their career. It might be best to take some photos of the inside of the slide and frame. Might give some more details to lead to the builder.

  8. Attended my first all steel match at the Spartan 300 at the World Shooting Recreational Complex in Sparta IL. This match has both Individual and team events.

    Match Format

    Individual Match

    • 10 Stages
    • 26 Targets Per Stage [25 Steel = 1 point & Bonus plate = 5 Points (shape of a spartan helmet)]
    • 300 Points Available
    • Time Plus Scoring (Need to hit all 300 to be in contention to win your division).

    Team Format

    • 4 Person Team
    • 4 Stages (2 solo + 2 team)
    • Fastest overall time wins.

Stages were very interesting with a mix of targets (3-12 inches) at varying distances (10-40 Yards). Some mover targets (Bobbers, Stars, Swingers, and Swinging Plateracks). Overall, the match was fantastic and plan to come back in future years. My only real complaint was one prop (Swinging platerack) wasn't super consistent shooter to shooter. Some plates fell on their own from the violent swinging action (Some received 5 free plates while others didn't get any). I shot with staff on Friday, so this may have been cleaned up for the rest of the competitors.

My Results - 258/260 Plates - Score of 298/300. 348 seconds and change overall.

  9. SVI is just like every other larger builder. You have a selection of preset options. Thats it. Id argue SVI actually gives you less options overall. They are really more about milling and coatings as of late. Not to mention their turn around times if you need them to fix something is awful (Assuming they are even willing to look at it).

My top 3 would builders would be... (All will build from a box of parts if you butter them up lol).

I used 'wrists above ears', and "arms outstretched vertically overhead" but the PCC shooters got grumpy.  😀

I don't particularly like the trend towards making everything "easier" (on the RO, on the shooter) by letting people do whatever, claiming "it's the same for everyone" or "it doesn't really matter".

Gotta make it sound fun... Stand like a Tusken Raider trying to alert the others.

  11. We did walk out music one time at a year end club match. It was way more effort than it was worth. Music after the WSB reading and before the first shooter... sure... why not. After that... its just a distraction that slows down the pace of the match.

Was that a aluminum frame gun? I have a few steel handguns that are ceakoted but haven't done aluminum.

Mine were on steel frames. Aluminum will 100% wear faster, so maybe dont recoat it at all unless you need to.

Im under the impression these guys are planning to go with a steel frame moving forward. No idea if this is true, but the story I heard was they were a 80% lower company that needed to pivot after changes in legislation. This was the route they went and only had tooling for aluminum at the start. Take all the grains of salt with that as it is from the grapevine.

  13. I ran a cerakoted 2011 from Don at Venom for many years. I made GM with one actually. It does not hold the gun back at all. Excessive recoating can cause issues long term (Blasting and recoating over and over can cause unneeded wear), but Ive shot open guns up to 70-80K with Cerakote without issue.
