    Good god....

I've also got an aluminum grip LO set up that is around 39 OZ and a lighter steel grip LO set up that is about 48 Oz.

This next build will be closer to 52-55 OZ.

My open guns weigh around 58-61 Oz empty depending on set up.

  2. A gun that is "Over sprung" dips when it returns to zero.

Main springs below a 17 run the risk of not popping primers. Infinity uses 15's in their comp guns to get their super light triggers, but they need to be tuned regularly to keep the reliability. The vast majority of people I know run a 17 LB main spring, and a recoil spring somewhere between 7-11 LB depending on caliber, gun set up, and grip for the individual person.

I would shoot doubles/bill drills while filming in slow mo to see what is happening with different recoil springs for your current gun set up and grip.

A no-vote is an endorsement of the status quo.

That isn't true at all. Well over half of USPSA members don't care about HQ. They show up to a few locals per year and that's it. This is very obvious when talking to people at matches. This sport has MASSIVE turn over every 5-7 years. The vast majority of people I started with are long gone (2014).

Can anyone expand on that? I shoot production at about 130pf with range pick up brass, much of it shot through open guns at USPSA matches.

I have found several split cases after shooting and tossed them in the scrap pile but have never detected any indication that the case splitting made any difference to accuracy or reliability. Now I load till they spilt and just don't worry about it.

What happens bad when a brass case splits in an open gun?

Case head separation would be the worst-case scenario. But split cases can also get stuck in chambers if you have a weak/very dirty extractor set up as well. 9 major being above normal pressures cause it to do some funky stuff under less than ideal conditions.

Isn't he talking about shooting in regular USPSA matches in the PCC division.  Not rifle only matches.

Speaking strictly from a gaming aspect off a start position. It can be done and would have benefits for a PPC shooter in a specific situation. Much like why some PPC shooters use 2 red dots... it make sense on certain leans.

Shooting 3-4 aimed shots at those targets would be easier than trying to setup and the get out of a bipod position.... I'd argue taking a mike would be better for your score than trying to do it as well.

You arent thinking outside the box enough. Start knelling, low ready. Bipod is already deployed, mount and shoot. Leave position. It will 100% be beneficial in certain situations. Watching IPSC rifle matches, there is some very unique stuff.

People here love to dunk on IPSC but they can do really good low round count stages.

This is why I like their 3-2-1 rule. But this requires more build time by staffers leading up to a major (More stages = more props placed) on top of needing more space to layer more stages in one bay. Majors are already a labor of love for those who put them on.

To me, 3-2-1 is awesome for shooters, but can create a massive headache for the ground crew setting it all up.

  8. Be the change you want to see. Submit stages to your local MD or become the local MD and put stages on you want to see. I started doing that back in 2015 and I've now designed well over 500+ unique stages for clubs and major across the country.

I used to run an indoor club (5 years - 30-33 matches per year) that would shoot 4-6 stages on 2 bays (Shoot 1, switch bays, shoot 2, flip stages, shoot 3, and so on...). Usually, would start with 2 large fields, 2 mediums, and then 2 short or 1 short/1 classifier. This offers a balance of shooting skill and would mix up the styles of shooting. I like seeing both hoser and super technical stages at the same match.

I still think majors need to spread out who designs stages. Often 1-3 people design all the stage for majors. A specific type of "Flavor" is created. Often these people end up being from the same club. I think sectionals should use 1 stage from each club in their section. Area matches should use stages from every state in their area. Nationals should use stages submitted from RMs from each area.

This would force different "flavors" into majors.

you mean the 'stuff' that is claimed by people who collaborated with anti-gun groups and dem politicians to get a national match moved to another state at the last second? Not sure those people have too much credibility to me.

I communicate regularly with my AD and I have squadded with several other AD's and spent some time talking to them. I trust them more than random troublemakers and attention-whores on instagram.

Having run the most active club in the Midwest for 5 years... while also attending majors and shooting with many ADs and MDs outside those in my direct area, I would say I also have my finger on the pulse. My opinions and information were formed well before the recent internet drama.

I can dislike both the org... and the howler monkeys. Crazy... I know...

So… putting this thread on topic before the mods shut “this one” down too, LO is cool and fun, and everyone loves it.  ❤️🇺🇸😆

Who else plans to shoot it for the long haul?

Long haul no… but I’ll use it to cross train divisions and mess around when I’m not shooting open.

locally we aren’t seeing many shoot LO yet. Now that CO nats is over, maybe it will pick up?

  11. Unless you are on the AMU team... every single "Elite GM" offers classes for a living. Not a single person is paid to shoot matches. That includes Max, JJ, Nils, Shane, and even Ben when he wasn't banned... literally all of them hold classes to generate money to live off of. This notion of "Paid pros" is a lie and always has been.

  12. Far from It...What im saying is John Krupa makes up drills with no concern for performance. This is obvious from the drill you copied from their group and posted here. John also hates competitive shooting. You are in a competitive shooting forum.

Members come here to learn and get better. This drill will not help new or seasoned shooters get better.

  13. You happen to have 2 USPSA GMs comment on a post about training that has issues throughout it. 🤷‍♂️

This drill is from someone who tells people to stay away from USPSA/IPSC/IDPA. You are on a competitive shooting forum. Expect us to be critical of people who don't like us. lol

  14. This is from John Kruppa with Spartan Tactical Training Group. I shoot out of the range John hosts classes from (Alpha Range in McHenry IL). John knows how to be a cop and is great at tactics. John knows little about high level shooting IMO. John actually speaks very negatively about competitive shooting and actively tells people to stay away from it.

  15. Bill drill with a small amount movement at 15 yards, in 12 seconds? You say "Change the times" but I'm wondering if you have ever trained given your initial "Drill" times

Pass/Fail type drills lead to poor fundamentals from chasing par times. You end up worrying about outcome over process. (Im not sure who is failing this drill to be fair)
