How are the new GSG-9's sized. Are they the size you normally wear or did you order a different size?
Been thinking of ordering a pair but I have problems finding the correct size in boots. I wear three different sizes depending on make and I even wear two different sizes of Danners depending on if US made or import.
I have two pairs of the Converse boots and the Foot Pursuit are very light and comfortable. The side zip tactical boots are good but not as comfy.

We are going to use either aluminum or a high density polymer for the first set of dies. He is going to cut the prototype blanks on a laser. If everything works out well, he is going to move to steel dies and subbing the die blank out to one of the shops he deals with at work. The first prototypes will be carbon steel. I would like the finished product to be out of the stainless STI used for the original mags they made 12 years ago, but we will see what works best. In preliminary figuring ( swag type of accounting ) the final cost of the mags/tubes is going to be less than STI tubes. After much thought we may make the tubes use STI sized base pads. I first thought the different internal size would be a problem, but with a +1, the follower will never run into anything.
I am going to meet with my machinist friend Sunday and we will try to get some idea when the prototypes can be done. That will give us an idea of actual cost and labor requirements.

Taylor Freelance is finalizing a design for a base pad.
CDNN has EAA and MEC-GAR mags for the Gold Team. The MEC-GAR mags need to be modified by grinding/cutting the indentations out at the bottom.
I am getting a machinist that also has a sheet metal shop to manufacture some 170's. I'll be giving him some mags this weekend to use as templates. He is going to make the dies and experiment with blank sizes over the Christmas / New Years break. I'll let y'all know how they turn out.

The only mags I know of are the EAA oem mags and the MEC-GAR mags. I have both and they seem to work for me. There are no 140 mags yet. CPMI and Taylor Freelance either have or are working on basepads.
Anybody know a source of GOOD magazines for the Tanfo Witness Gold in .38 Super?? Man the GUN is GREAT the mags are JUNK!! I guess I have become accustomed to the tuned STI's with Dawson pads......I had 2 failures to feed on Saturday....the bullets want to nose dive after the 4-5th round....I have cleaned them, checked the springs and they still do not run properly.....Who sells some RUNNING 140's???Thanks

I just blew-up a tube full of primers last weekend, but it was caused by the old primer just punching out the end of the cup and the anvil. It left the side walls in the primer pocket. I had just filled the primer tube and all of them went off. Thank God for the steel outer tube. The primer tube was bulged/split in three places and had to be hammered out of the steel tube. Eye protection, as always, was in place, but no hearing protection. I'm thinking of adding that to the loading routine now. May-be an electronic set that music can be plugged into.

Sorry to be off topic, but if it could be the thing used to stack old military rifles in the tripod configuration you see in old war movies. Just guessing here.

I fell in love with the Spartan after playing with it on the STI table at Area 4.The only thing I need to make it run is an ambi safety... rather than buy one and have fitted elsewhere, how much trouble would it be (and cost) to have it done? And who/where do I call?

I used to shoot a Magnus Bullet 155 LSWC over 7.0 or so gr of Win WST. It chronod out around 1150 or so. I did have to bump it up for colder tempature though. Of course that was the old major of 175 pf.

Loctite 620, Cylindrical bonding compound. It is impervious to solvents and high strength. To remove comp apply heat with a propane torch, not on of those butane mini torches you'll never get it off. Also use a wrench to turn the barrel ( with the comp in a vise ). When you apply the Loctite, put a plug in the barrel to keep the Loctite out of the inside. A yellow foam ear plug works well. Get the comp aligned fairly quickly the Loctite sets up fast.

I've ridden by car in Seoul lots of times. ( never driven cause I couldn't figure out the traffic rules, doesn't seem like there are any!). It's nothing short of vehicular chaos. At just over 10 million residents its pretty crowded everywhere there. Had lots of scary taxi rides in the large cities of the world. Driven in just a few. Always figured that the taxi driver may be a crook, but if we crash and burn we both crash and burn! lol... Then again there was that double decker bus ride in Hong Kong. The bus was kinda tippy feeling, but it was a city bus so it had to be safe right? Then the locals tell me they flip over all the time so they just take taxi's!!! lol...
The rules in Seoul ( and the rest of the country ) are very simple.
1) The biggest vehicle has right of way.
The buses are going from the curb to the left lane even if they have to go back to the curb as soon as they get in the lane.
2) The stop lights are really drag races.
If you have two lanes, expect 4 cars to line up to race across the intersection
3) See rule one
4) If you use your blinker, the other person has right of way and will try to take it.
5) See rule one.
Now that you understand the rules you can drive in Seoul.
Did you drive on the highways outside of the city? It is funny to see the part that is an Emergency Airfield, complete with parking aprons, just in case the North comes visiting.

Actually the Tippmans are made by Lakeside Machine ( http://www.lakesideguns.com/ ) They are available if you have the correct class III FFL. If you have one of the 22 machine guns you can get a 17 barrel for it. I have a friend in Fl that owns 4 of the semi auto Tippmans. A 1917, a 1919, an M2HB and an ANM2 water cooled. The first two are 22lr, the last are 22mag.

I use Zero's or Magnus Bullets hard cast lead.

I'm using the Redding Competition Pro Series Die Set In Titanium Carbide for 9mm on my Rl1050. There is no problem with the length of the die bodies. I read somewhere the pro series were designed to work with the Dillon presses.

Have the ground water tested for lead content before building. A new neighbor to a range outside of Pensacola tried to shut the range down due to lead contamination. They managed to find a lead test from more than 20 years earlier and they had no increase in ground water lead.

I use a laptop and Microsoft Street & Trips mostly. I also have the DeLorme as well. The Laptop rides velcro'd to the center consol. At night I used to use the DeLorme in Night mode. Now I use Streets & Trips.

I carried an L4 ( LED ) on my belt ( took it off to pass through X-ray ) when I flew from Austin to Miami and back in early June.

The former owner of Alabama Ammo used to load match ammo for one of his customers on a RL1050. It was for an M-1A so it didn't have the long OAL of a bolt action rifle. I think if you are loading for an auto loader it would work, as long as all the case prep was done before hand. If you are loading for MOR, I think you need a Super 1050.

I have one in black that they sent out to anodize for me. You can call and ask Paul. After all, the worst is they can say no.
By the way, they used to sell mounts in different colors, but they ended up with a bunch in stock nobody wanted. That was before the latest style. So they may do it as a special order.

When I was stationed in Gulfport Ms, we had a cool picture in our headquarters building. We used to deploy mostly to Indonesia and Africa to support Hydrographic Survey ( making charts ). The picture was taken in Indonesia from an SH-2 helo. The picture was of an outrigger canoe, maybe 10 - 12 feet long. The helo's shadow was to the right of the outrigger, approx the same length. To the left of the outrigger was a shark, approx 1 1/2 as long as the outrigger. To the left of the shark was a giant manta, about as long as the shark but really wide. I regret not borrowing the pic ( with permission of course ) and getting a copy.

I've got a 99 powerstroke, with a chip. I got a really funny look at the tire store when I asked if they had tires with an E load range and a Z speed rating. He said " you need to go 153? " I said " but I know my truck can go 142, and that's faster than a V rating ".
They thought it was funny, I was serious.

Just picked up a Gold Team in super. What are the options for scopemounts. I have the EAA with the rail, but it sits really high. Any other models out there?

As I live in gubermint quarters, pyro-any-darned-thing is right out of the question.
On the other hand, I did a Google search on "bleach and brake fluid." Apparently, it depends on what type of bleach you use. If you use regular liquid laundry Clorox, you get nothing. If you use the powdered stuff for pools, however... "Poof! No eyebrows!" You'll have to slide down to "Chemical Explosives."
Let me know what you come up with.

I've seen the pool chlorinating chemicals and brake fluid before. It was at a Navy class on possible chemical reactions in a flamibles locker. The air temp affects the speed of the reaction. It was about 90 deg out and the result was 3 ft purple flame in about 15 seconds. Any petro-chemical will react with calcium hyperchlorate. OSHA publishes a wall poster listing possible reactions.
