  1. After receiving what parts to polish from David I watched joes video and tore down the 09 last night i took and stone polised the parts and areas as described and it smoothed the DA tremendously! Anyone that had tore into a glock if you watch the video you can smooth the DA and with CGW recommended parts you will have a trigger that will please!

  2. I received a email from David at this is what he said

Polish the trigger bar where it rides against the inside of the frame, the top where it cams under the roller, the sear pin, hammer strut, and hammer pivot pin. Reduce the tension on the trigger bar support spring a lot, you'll get a feel for how to this quickly, it's the spring on the RH side of the frame. Do it with the spring in the frame and pistol assembled.
  3. I guess I will hold off on the polishing then. The gun is a very good shooter and I love the way it feels in my hand, I have a high grip and when shooting the Shadow the Safety gets in the meat of my palm. the P-09 does not and with the Talon sandpaper grips It does not move.. Both are a lot of fun to play with

  4. I have a 09 with CGW parts and the reset it short enough to play the game very well I too have a shadow tuned by CZC and when the buzzer goes off not much difference. If I had to critique anything it would be that the internals should be polished to smooth the DA

  5. The 75 Shadow from CZ/ CZC is production legal. The Illegal CZC is the Accu Shadow. It has a Modied exterior machined bushing. That is the one banned. They increased the weight in IDPA so the shadows with the short dust cover make weight. Mine have the springer precision extrnded base pads and fit the box just fine. And yes in my club I shoot the only CZ

  6. The thing with IDPA is it has a reputation of getting into it cheap. A $500 dollor Glock with 3 mags. And. $90 IDPA holster mag combo and your good to go. I think it is ecomomics than anything else. They learn to shoot the polymer gun well and stick with it

  7. MrPostman I did read your thread and learned some things. The video I watched also and liked how flat it shot. But I do have the gun already and will be loading 9 major. I thank you for the replys and will continue to search and seek

  8. So I too will be trying the Open class. I traded for a M&P Core 4.25 with a STS optic already on the gun. It also has a extra Storm Lake threaded barrel. the trigger is very good Apex trigger with short reset. I realize at 58 years old I will not set the stage on fire but just want to have fun shooting. one of the reasons going to open is my eyes 58 year old eyes. what I would like to know is who builds a Comp for the gun so I man shoot 9major? and what else might I have to do to make the gun reliable. All the rest of the gun is good and I have all the accessories needed, 4 mages with TTI base pads holsters and other needed. for now I will shoot open minor but will want to make a 9 major form this platform.. Bless you and Thanks for any info

  9. I generally find I use diffeent ammo for practice i reload and with the powder situation I do have different loads. Not a huge difference. But I do use the same load all the time for matches. Live fire practice is usually drills. 6 shots reload 6 shots reload. No biggie

  10. This has been a very interesting and informative read for me. I will be taking the RO class this weekend and it will be taught bt Troy McManus. I'm sure that it will be interesting to hear what he might say about it. I thank the OP for starting this. I have been Blessed to have a local club that takes new shooters and get them excited about USPSA. I got into the Sport late but have embraced it. Taking the RO class allows me to give back what I get out of this sport. From the beginning safety was paramount at our club match. The video I hope awakens that sometimes we get complacent in our responsibilities. Complacency can lead to tragedy.

  11. So the dilemma I have is I am a truck driver and spend lots of hours on the road. second problem is time constraints when home. Is the ebook of Brians E book a need to read or will the ebook give me lots of information. I understand dry fire needs visual and is that in the book.. Thanks in advance

third issue I hate to read

  13. ^^^^ I agree with JRM83. the minimum mags you want on your belt is 4. If unsure you want to pursue this avenue on the cheap you can buy 2 double mag pouches and a standard Blade-tech paddle holster too.. look in the classifieds and you occasionally see belts and holsters for sale. Just get to the range for your first match. But until you do go to the web and look at dry fire drills. Draw and reloads are where most seconds are lost in beginners. Just remember the first thing you want to do is Be SAFE at the range. you will not run with the big dogs right from the git go but you will have fun. PS when the buzzer goes off the first time you will forget all you have practiced

  14. Hydration is the key to most things. Water is best. A good breakfast to start the day. Yes I have coffee in the morning. During the first stage I have a adrenaline rush and after the stage the rush is over and the body slows down. That is when I try and get a little protein usually almonds, then maybe a natural sugar, grapes have a simple sugar or a apple, that way not a huge rush. Protein bars help too
