  1. I wipe everything down and then put a nice light coat of oil on most parts. There was a good video on lubing the a400 from Beretta that I used. There's a couple places they say not to lube.
  2. Well first shot at loading was pretty awful. I am using a Lee Classic single stage. I had loads with OALs ranging from 1.05 to 1.15!!! Not sure what I'm doing wrong. I don't know how much the powder can make a difference, but my charges were pretty inconsistent. I haven't shot any loaded ammo, we will see after this weekend. FYI, all my reloading before was done on a dillon 550 with all the measurements set up for me haha.
  3. Awesome, last year had some fun stages. Looking forward to this one!
  4. Then yes, that would be nice haha. I literally can't find any info. I'm going to make some calls and hopefully clarify some things today.
  5. Yeah divisional series is definitely on hold. Regional tab on 3gn says Semo-Pro, Juniors, and Ladies series will be run at the Regionals, though.
  6. Where can I find info on the Semi-Pro series? I know the point race is being run at the Regionals, but that's about all I can find on the 3gn website. What would be the advantage to me to sign up for that? I would only be able to make one other Regionals, and I am currently waitlisted.
  7. I'm not planning on loading outside of recommended OAL limits, I just wanted to see if anyone found that particularly long or short rounds (within those limits) worked better for the barrel. Thanks for the help!
  8. HOW DO I KNOW IF I GOT IN!!! AHHH I'm freaking out. you are freaking out... man I submitted at 9:30:00.5 <- that's half a second after it turned to 9:30:00
  9. I am running a Glock 35 with KKM 40-9 conversion barrel. I am wondering if anyone has any metrics on a good OAL for my loads. I am just now getting into reloading 9mm, and don't have much research on this. I was wondering if the chamber/feed ramp on a conversion barrel favors a shorter or longer OAL than the standard factory barrel with factory rounds. I have been using factory reloads so far and unfortunately don't know the OAL on those.
  10. RCI's is red as well. My stock is silver. Never had any problems with stock one though.
  11. Finished opening up the port. Here's the finished product! Also this is a 24" with a +5 RCI Xtension on it for anyone wondering.
  12. It depends whether or not you are going down range from the gun. If you the stage dictates you proceed down range the gun has to fully unloaded, if you aren't going down range, on safe will suffice. In this instance Unless dictated in the rules a firearm is considered in MOST rule books to be in safe condition if it is a striker fired gun with a passive safety it is automatically safe, if the safety is engaged, or if there is no round in the chamber. In this instance If I am correct the gun with the optic and 40 round mag were too wide to fit in the bucket so when it was dumped the rifle tipped back out towards the crowd. Am I correct? Almost too wide. It could have fit, but they were smaller dump barrels than I was used too + the gun was wider because I was not used to running the 40 rounder. So those things + being on the clock meant I didn't ensure the optic and mag cleared the edges before letting go. In this scenario, I could have left a round in the chamber with safety on and continued the stage, which I did. But because of the gun falling out, even though technically safe, I will be sure to make sure the last round is ejected regardless of what the stage calls for for safety reasons.
  13. I'm pretty sure Aaron said they were going to keep it at Legion, and the first weekend of December. That he did! With this much notice, I hope more people will decide to make the trip.
  14. Looks like a local is going to help me out and save me from embarrassing myself.
  15. Registered! This gives me something to look forward to between now and graduating in May!
  16. I'm the kind of guy that goes for functionality over look, so if it ends up working, don't really care how unprofessional it is. Thanks guys.
  17. I am looking to add serrations to the front of two Glock slides, but I do not want to pay to ship it off and have it professionally done. After doing some filing on my shotgun, it got me wondering if I could apply the same tools to making slide serrations. Has anyone every tried this? Is the slide much harder than a steel shotgun receiver? Any pictures? I would plan on getting it cerakoted after filing it down to cover back up the exposed metal.
  18. Yes, I should clarify, not all of those are RULES per say, but things that I will now be making doubly sure that I do. One DQ is enough for me to take the extra second to drop the mag and clear.
  19. Shooting my first real 3 gun match, using an AR with an optic and Pmag40, put the safety on and place in barrel, trying to move to quick and optic gets caught on side of the barrel, continuing forward with the stage.... and boom DQ. Gun fell back out. So lessons learned: 1) Always drop mag and eject last round 2) Always put safety on, wasn't a problem here, but it shows the need for it because someone got flagged when it fell out! 3) Use arm to seat rifle or gun deep inside the barrel to ensure it's actually in there! 4) Think about the size of the drop barrel (I was used to bigger, and angled drop points) 5) Don't go too fast to outrun yourself! 6) Only use smallest possible magazine in a stage to help with this. Yeah, it wasn't pretty.
  20. Anybody know the implications of shaving down this hole anymore than I have? I want to keep bringing it down, but I don't want to mess with any important parts obviously. Maybe a pin for the shell catcher? If you can't tell there is the big one that is vertical and a smaller one that is horizontal.
  21. Awesome match! One of the best weekends I've had all year!
  22. Freaking blakely... if it ends up being the same amount of gnats as TFD, I'm going to be pissed.
